Club Gathering here New Year 2009/10. Despite very very severe winter conditions, stand pipes thawed out each morning. Toilet block warm & clean. Jean & Alex could not be more welcoming. Excellent site and close to several places of interest. Dog friendly. Very large pitches with some large super serviced pitches. Panoramic mountain views. Easy access for large units.

I have just spent Christmas and New Year on this site and found both the site and facilities to be excellent. The toilet block was spotless at all times and very warm, loads of hot water in the showers. The fact that we had a lot of snow made the holiday all the better.
The wardens were very helpful and put on an amazing party on New Years Eve at a village hall in Alloa, we were picked up and brought back by coach.
The surroundings are beautiful and their are lots of places to visit either close to or further afield. Morrisons, Asda and Tesco all within easy reach.
It was my first trip to Scotland and it wont be my last. I would certainly stay at this site again.

We were very disappointed with this site. Not at all up to usual CC standards.
I found the warden rather abrupt and we were overcharged and when challenged told that the price stated in the book was wrong!
There were lots of seasonal caravans on site and several which seemed to be stored here on a tarmac area just outside the toilet block.
The toilets blocks were not as clean as usual either.
Whilst we were there building was being carried out on timber lodges and we were woken up at 8am by the builders. Which is not good when you are on holiday.
There are some nice walks from the site but the area is not as nice as the description suggests.Stirling is definitely worth a visit though.

I have been to this site a few times over the years and although it's not a proper cc site it's a nice site, the people in the office are nice helpful people. The view from most of the site is excellent an the ochil hills are lovely
The toilet blocks one old one new are clean and tidy. There are quite a few seasonal caravans pitched around the site with there own wee plant pots and night lights.
The road around the site could do with some TLC, there are quite a lot of deep holes to duck and dive, these would only need a couple of shovels of whinstone in them SO come on wardens.
There are also three new holidy lodges, this worrys me a little usualy means touring caravans will become second place.
Aloa and Alva have shops for your bits and pieces then there's Stirling plenty of shops tourist attractions etc.

We have just returned from a lovely relaxing holiday at this family and dog friendly site. The facilities were as you would expect from any site. Clean and well presented. The views of the Ochil Hills are breathtaking and some of the seasonal pitches are tastefully decorated too. The wardens on site were very friendly, helpful, welcoming and professional.
On arrival we were provided with local information about buses, shops, and places of interest and there also some local take aways who will deliver to the site too.
Kids play area is small but very safe. I especially liked the fact that there were no swings there as my son was knocked out by a child on a swing before. We only saw the kids when they were hungry and they were well worn out by departure day.
All in all. Everything you could want from a site. We have already booked up for next year and October.

I agree with other reviews, this site is not up to the usual CC standard. There seems to be two parts to this site. The part that we stayed on had no lighting at all at night therefore it was pitch black and the road had quite a few potholes in it. Even with a torch it was quite daunting to be visiting the toilet block or having a walk around the site. On the plus side, the toilets were very clean and tidy and spacious. The entry to the site is via a keypad but you have to get out of the car to use it and then quickly get back into your car when the barrier lifts up. Much prefer the swipe card or fob. The pub along the road in Menstrie i.E. Burnside Inn, is excellent for a meal. I have visited this pub on a few occasions and never been disappointed. In future I will visit the site that I usually frequent.

This was the second stop out on our holiday to the Outer Hebrides and we couldn't have chosen a better place to start our trip. The staff are kind and very friendly and the scenery around the site is breathtaking, whilst being close to essential amenities. One of the most memorable things about this site is the fact that music is played in the toilet blocks 24/7 and is very welcoming when the need arises in the middle of the night. We were very impressed all round with this site, it was well managed and very clean, showers were always hot and there was always flowers to make the block look homely.

Super views, but I'm afraid this site isn't quite up to CC standards - this is an affiliated site not a proper CC one. Too many seasonal pitches - some overdecorated! We used the new loo block which was spotless but the handwash that was in the men's loo on Friday disappeared on Saturday and never returned. They are also beginning to introduce holiday lodges. The welcome was warm and we will probably visit again as it is only 27 miles from home, but to be honest we are more likely to stick to local favourites.

After a lovely break in the beautiful picturesque country side of the woods caravan site, I have come home feeling most relaxed and cant wait for my next chance to take a break there.
Two toilet blocks are spotless and well maintained, shower units acceptable, reception well staffed and always make you welcome Play ground not applicable to myself as no kids, shops in easy access as only a short walk up past the equestrian centre or frequent bus service into main town of alloa, where you will find most high street stores (new look, farmfoods etc). The local eatery just a short walk away the ochil view highly recommended for friendly staff and excellent food even if one or more of your party has a food allergy ie (ceoliac) most of all if you like beautiful scenery this is a must.

Booked this at the spur of the moment and we were pleasantly surprised .
The views onto the Ochils are nice and the site is very peaceful for a weekend away from it all .
We only seen our son at feeding times and bed time with the play park and other kids .Toilet facilities were good and the wardens were very friendly .
There is a good takeaway down the road in Sauchie and there are Asda ,Morrisons & Aldi in Alloa .We didn't venture into Alva .
Will be booking this site again .
