Spent a weekend at this very pleasant site. Not perfect but close. Reception friendly and efficient with reasonable rates, site mainly spotless and lovely views of Ochils.
Our tent was pitched on a slight slope at the far end of the site. A wee bit untidy beside stored touring vans, and a couple of minutes walk to the toilets, which were immaculate.
Unfortunately we had some noisy neighbours that took the shine off our visit, and our kids felt the playground was a bit on the small side.
The site is ideal for visiting the attractions around Stirling and probably perfect for those visiting in a caravan without children.
All said. Would use this site again

We regularly use this site on our way up to northern Scotland. It is a very clean site, beautifully maintained and we have found the staff exceptionally helpful. The views over the Ochils are beautiful and the toilet/shower facilities outstanding. The hard standings are nice and level and there is an excellent Motorhome point for emptying and refilling with water.
Because we use this site as a stopover we have not tried the local facilities.

Used this site for three nights. A warm welcome at reception. We were given a leaflet saying where various local shops and restaurants could be found. We did not use any so cannot comment on quality.
There are a good number of tourists leaflets in the reception and amenity blocks. There is plenty to do in the area, with Stirling nearby and also some good walks at two very close Country Parks, Ochills and Garten dam.
Views were lovely. You choose your own pitch.
We were close to shower block B which was clean and had plenty of hot water. Both blocks are cleaned at different times so one is always available. Block A is not so modern but I would still be happy to use it.
Dog walk on site but you can take the dog into the fields adjacent to the site for a longer walk.
There is a playground but we don't have children, but there were a couple of small children who seemed happy playing there.
This is a site we will visit again.

Wow, what an interesting site. Let me explain. But first thing first. We'd come back again in a flash and have even started talking about basing ourselves here for another tour of Scotland in the Veedub.
You follow the signs for a prison most of the way here, eventually through Fishcross, wondering where you're going to end up, with the hills in the background.
Just when you're wondering where you've ended up, you reach the site. One of the most accommodating, cleanest and helpful places we've been to.
We booked for one night as a stopover to Glencoe and ended up staying 3 nights (albeit as a base rather than a place to hang out all day, but even then, it's a good choice if that's your thing). It's full of caravans and motorhomes but the pitches are huge, clean, the loo blocks are spotless and empty and there's a good enough play park to keep my three kids happy. If you're camping in a tent, there's a field for that too.
Fishcross has a pub 2 minutes drive with good pub grub for the family, and there's a shop down the road for everything else you need. Stirling is just down the road, Fort William a couple of hours and Edinburgh 45 minutes. The views are stunning and it's a very peaceful site.
The owners were very helpful and friendly, you get a map of the pitches, and there's plenty of space. The pitches are gravel so you can pitch a tent/awning onto your camper with loads of room.
We'll come here again for sure.

We have just returned from a very relaxing week at this site. We had a fabulous pitch for our tent, flat and close to the toilets. The pitch even had its own picnic table.
We only had a couple of other tents near us during our stay, (the site is predominantly for caravans/tourers) but the owners said this was the first year they have allowed tents on the site. The site is very well maintained and the amenities are spotlessly clean. It is lovely and quiet, most folk seemed to be in bed by half 10 -11. Ideal for those who like an undisturbed night.
During our stay we all used the showers ( which were lovely and hot) and the dish washing facilities, again, piping hot water and free. We didn’t use the laundry facilities so can’t comment on these.
We ran out of camping gaz during the week but unfortunately this site doesn’t keep it. We managed to get a replacement from a nearby campsite. Not a great deal of inconvenience but when you want to get the breakfast on and the cuppas made, it would have been nicer if they had had them on site.
The site is a great base for seeing the local area, Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument are well worth a visit. Edinburgh and Glasgow are about an hour away if you fancy a bit of retail therapy and Loch Lomond, also about an hour away, is well worth a visit for the scenery.
Woods Caravan Club Park, with its fantastic views of the Ochil Hills, is a real credit to its owners. They are friendly and helpful without being interfering. We will definitely be returning. Hopefully next time without the Scotch mist!

First impressions very good, staff very friendly, managed to get set up very quickly on a pitch at the bottom of the hill. Toilets and other facilities very good.
Although the site is on a slope, all pitches have been levelled out. Great views of the Ochill Hills but very exposed towards the bottom of the hill. It was very windy during my visit and I must admit, I thought my awning was going to take off, but it was fine once the wind died down.
Ideally located for visiting all the local sites in and around Stirling. I didn't use any local facilities in the immediate area, but not far from Alva, local town/village.
For kids there is a play area to keep them amused and a large playing field at the bottom of the site. I would say to park closer to the bottom of the site if you have kids as there is lots of space for them to run around away from the other caravans.
First impression was the right one, great site.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay, very nice location with amazing views of the hills, site well kept, toilet/shower block immaculate, staff very welcoming and informative, small play area for younger children (kept our 4year old amused), dog friendly site with on site dog walking area and more walks across the road. Supermarket located about 5 min drive away, tent pitch was flat and even. All 4 of us had a wonderful break and will certainly return.

Excellent site. Very friendly and courteous staff with great facilities on site. Kid friendly and close to all major attractions in the area. We initially arrived in a tent but loved the place so much we ended up buying a caravan on the site complete with 6 months site fees paid. Best thing we have done. This place also has fantastic views of the stunning Ochil hills and is a great spot for a bit of astronomy. Fully recommended.

This is a well kept site, not far from the hustle and bustle of Stirling, Glasgow or Edinburgh.
The pitches are very spacious and the toilet blocks are brilliant.
The play park is ok, though my four year old got bored of it quickly.
On the downside, it is difficult to empty / fill the waste / water, as it is up a slope, and tends to pull you down on the way back to your caravan.
There is plenty of leaflets available for activities, but I felt let down by the lack of local knowledge the wardens had.
I felt that they should have known about local walks and trails, and what was available for rainy days in Alloa.
Another downside was all the 'Keep off the grass' signs, I have two children, one who is four, and trying to keep him off the grass was very difficult, and he had to play ball on the gravel.
This is a great site for people without kids

Just back from a fabulous couple of days at this beautiful site.
Great views of the hills including the Alva Glen where you can walk up to the cave at the top and see all the impressive waterfalls (care with little ones though as steep banks not always fenced) only a ten minute drive away.
Great for Stirling - Castle, Wallace Monument etc. Loads of easily accessible supermarkets but why bother when you can eat on a Monday evening in The Old Brewery buy one meal get one free (£31 for 4 including drinks with two steaks!
)Liked the fact you can pick your spot, both toilet blocks immaculate and playing BBC radio 2. Enjoyed watching the sun set over the Ochils with a wee glass of vino and only farmland as far as the eye could see stretching out in front of us.
You can stay late for a few more pounds if you want to make the most of your last day (Woman kind enough not to bother charging us for this) We will definitely be back.
