Although this is a very large site, it is very well landscaped and pitches are very spacious. The views all round of the Ochil range are beautiful! It is separated into 2 areas, each with its own utility block. I cannot comment on the area with the play park and toilet block B (which I understand to be the newer one) as stayed near, and used block A, which I found to be okay but a bit dated. I didn't manage to get any hot water in the shower, as I noticed somebody else mentioned in their review, but thought at the time that I was doing something wrong as my husband managed to get a hot shower. Maybe this is only a problem at busy times? I also found the piped radio music to be a bit young, and heavy, for my taste! I had to use the washing machine, dryer and iron while there, and although the iron was free it was directly in front of the mens toilet door, which was not a great place to be standing for any length of time! Also the washing machine was quite expensive to other sites at £3.50, and the dryer was the same price but did not dry my clothes properly for this price which is annoying when its raining heavily! On the plus side there is TV hookup on every pitch suitable for Freeview, but do take your own length of cable as they charge £15 for this! Also avoid pitches 11 and 12 as they back onto a block of flats which has a barking dog and noisy children playing in the gardens. This really did disturb us, especially as the site is in such a beautiful tranquil area which was a shame. I think we would go back but would not pitch near to the flats next time!

Lovely tranquil site with stunning views.
Was able to pick the pitch which suited myself, had hardstanding with EHU and TV point. Pitches are large and well spaced apart, with some being on terraces, but no feeling of being overlooked.
Toilets and showers for both blocks were very clean and tidy with piped radio in. Showers were like being at home - could have hot water at the temperature you wanted.
Had problems with my van when I arrived but the owners were really helpful and sorted me out.
Storage area at end of site near dog walk was a bit untidy, but doesn't affect the overall site.
No paths outside the site, so extra care if walking due to the traffic speeding by.

First time visit to this lovely wee campsite and was not disappointed, the pitches are very large, hardstanding and well spaced out.
The toilet facilities are excellent, very clean with great showers.
There is a laundry area with an iron and ironing board also provided.
Upon arrival I was greeted by a very friendly woman on reception who was very helpful indeed.
The views from the site are lovely with the Ochil hills as a backdrop.
Give the Ochil glen walk a try, very nice and some lovely waterfalls, also the wee pub at the foot of glen car park ( I'm sure it was called No.5 ) is worth a visit to get some decent food at a reasonable price.
Will definitely return to this lovely site.

This site is very close to where we live and we used it as a testing ground for our initial foray into camping. It is clear that this site is geared primarily towards caravans and motorhomes but, nonetheless, we were given a very warm welcome and a very reasonably priced per person rate.
The most immediate drawback for tent campers is that - due to recent building of cabins and other improvements - there is a dwindling amount of grass space on which to pitch your tent. Having been a guest there a couple of years ago, I remember many tents being pitched on the area where the new cabins have been built and, in my opinion, there seeemed to be a more relaxed atmosphere on that occasion, and a much more open feel to the site.
The surrounding scenery is - of course - awesome, and the park is perfectly situated to give stunning views along the Ochil range. Amenities within walking distance are sparse; there is a pub in Fishcross and a small shop and a take-away in New Sauchie, but Alloa, Alva and Stirling are within easy reach by bus or car and have much more comprehensive amenities.
The facilities on the site are very good indeed. The toilet blocks are clean and comfortable (although there is piped radio music if that offends) and water and rubbish points abound. The site does have a small children's play area but it is rather tired and unloved. Having said that, it is nothing that a lick of paint and a spruce up wouldn't fix.
Overall a positive experience and the site is well-equipped and well-run. Just a few finer points would make all the difference.

Stayed for 3 nights on a fully serviced pitch, nice big areas with plenty of room to spread out.Great views over the Ochill hills and beyond.Dog walking area and two shower and toilet blocks, Block A is a bit run down, dirty mouldy shower curtains, 2 of the 3 showers only cold water coming from them, however a well run site, very clean, didn't like the radio on in the blocks playing rave music allday.
Used to live in Dumfermline,so knew the area well.Bring your supplies with you, there is some local shops within 3 miles, with a Asda stores in in Alloa

Visited this site for the first time in 4 years and was surprised how much it had changed. Owners have obviously invested a lot of money as they have opened up another area for more pitches, all hard standing, added more fully serviced pitches and built a new toilet block to cope with the increased capacity whilst renovating the old. There are also a few cabins which seem to be for sale and a number of seasonal pitches.
Location is great with views over the country side and is a great base for visiting Stirling and the many attractions of the local area.
Not much within walking distance of the site but there are plenty of supermarkets, shops, eateries etc a few miles away in Alloa and Alva with Stirling only 10 miles away.
Kids play area was good with plenty of space and all facilities were spotless.
Only gripe, and minor at that, is that the site provides storage facilities at the bottom of the new area and the pitches down there whilst good may feel like pitching in a storage facility.
Will definitely return and won't leave it so long this time.

Just been to woods caravan park Alva and was really impressed. Just had a few days off and decided to take wife away. Although site was very busy (and we didn't book) the owner made us feel welcome and managed to accommodate us for two nights.
Site was very clean with good clean toilets and showers (cleaned every day) it was also very peaceful and the views were outstanding even the heavy rain didn't ruin our short break.
I will definitely be back again for a bit longer next time. Go you wont be disappointed. Plenty of places close by for pub grub and plenty of sites, sterling castle, wallace monument to name just a few.

Just had my first Scottish tour and stayed here for the one night. A super site with excellent facilities and so handy for a base to tour the start of the Highlands.
There is a lot on offer within easy reach. Alloa has plenty of retail facilities. The site at first glance appears to be in mixed industrial area but is in fact completely private. Mountain views are impressive.
The owners very nice. The showers / toilets / laundry up with the best. Pitches are excellent and the grounds very well cared for. Late arrival spots have electric hook up and are next to the office.

I have just taken a seasonal pitch. Staff at reception (Jesse) was very helpful and friendly.
The site is very clean and tidy. The views are fantastic.Toilets are clean showers hot. Pitches are large with enough room for an awning car and a bit more. Only criticism is you cant buy basic essentials papers, rolls and milk on site.
A ten minute walk to the village which has a very good pub. Excellent food and entertainment

Having just been at Edinburgh caravan park, we didn't know what to expect from this site as Edinburgh was lovely. What a pleasant surprise. Our pitch had a view from one window of the hills (absolutely stunning), we could watch the kids at the playpark from the front window (the park was very safe for the children)who were rarely in till after dark each night. The toilet/shower block was directly behind us - what more could you ask for - all was spotlessly clean. We will definitely be back. Only one downside, you can't really walk into town from the site as quite narrow road with no pavement - but apart from that - fantastic !
