Really lovely campsite. Yes, there is some noise from the adjacent roads but even my partner, who usually uses earplugs when camping, didn't have any issues with this.
That said, the site is tranquil and extremely pleasant with some reasonably secluded and well sheltered pitches. The toilet and shower block was immaculate, very well appointed and a suitable size for the number of pitches. Showers are excellent, well sized and have loads of hot water.
On the plus side, being near the A27 means that loads of places are easily accessible. Angmering is pretty, there is a superb Indian takeaway, a fish and chip shop and a really good bakery, and it's only a 10 minute walk from the site.
Littlehampton has a fantastic Chinese restaurant, Arundel has so much choice it's amazing and Chichester with its Cineworld cinema and literally dozens of restaurants is a short drive away.
Recycling is actively encouraged with individual boxes for each pitch and large bins in a separate area, but we didn't feel pressured to comply, although we did recycle the small amount of eligible waste that we produced.
The owners are incredibly friendly and made us feel really welcome and comfortable.
We are not usually the type to revisit places we've been before but we have both agreed that we will be revisiting Acorns again. We've not marked on child friendliness as we don't have kids, but it seemed to us, even though there is no actual 'play area', that it is a really good place for kids who enjoy nature.

We have just spent the weekend at this very pleasant, wooded site. We shared it with only two other tents, so it was extra nice.
The access from the eastbound A27 (from Arundel) has been closed so you have to go up the next roundabout and double back on yourself. We would very definitely endorse the advice about not approaching from any other direction (with a caravan at least). Once you have turned into Angmering Road the entrance to the site is on the left after about 200 yards and is not that well marked.
Check in was friendly and swift and all contact prior to our stay was very pleasant and helpful. The site is small and attractive. The shower block was very clean, warm and modern. The woodland walk is very nicely laid out and the owners seem really keen to make your stay as pleasurable as possible.
There is a Co-op, an Indian take away, a bakery and a pharmacy in Angmering village (among other shops). We had Sunday lunch at The Fox in Patching which was very nice and they allow you to eat with your dog in the bar area (but not the restaurant).
We would definitely return. In the interest of fairness, I have to say that there is a bit of noise from the A27 but don't let this put you off.

Being new to camping requires the best possible service and welcoming from your host. In addition the site must be attractive and within a setting that makes you feel that this is what camping is all about.
The 'Acorns' site certainly meets this criteria and beyond. We actually felt welcomed before we even arrived and confident that if we needed anything help was there when required.
The site was most inviting set within splendid tranquil surroundings with a balanced harmony of nature and facility from many points of vantage.
Anyone who is thinking of using this site should not hesitate as we cannot see how anyone could possibly be disappointed.
The location is superb with an easy stroll to the village of Angmering with good convenience shopping and other facilities such as pubs and cafes.
Ideally located for a trip to Brighton, Littlehampton (try the East Beach cafe even if it is just to observe the architecture - food and service great)and walks in the South Downs, etc.
The library assistant in the village was very helpful and provided print-outs of local walks.
The hosts Albert & Pam are extremely helpful and at the same time just leave you to enjoy what the site and its surroundings have to offer.
During our last day we visited the nearby town of Arundel with its dominating castle and excellent shops & restaurants, etc – my wife now wants to live in Arundel!
Thank you to UK Campsites for directing us to this wonderful campsite and the opportunity of an experience that makes camping worth while and an experience we look forward to again.

What a gem of a site.
The facilities are most definitely the best we have encountered. Spotlessly clean at all times and like brand new. The showers are piping hot and very roomy. The only change I would make is to have more clothes hooks on the back of the shower doors. There is only one and it is difficult to hang up all your clothes so they don't fall on the wet room floor.
Albert (the site owner) is very friendly and helpful but without being intrusive in any way. We asked for a position that would most likely give us a good satellite reception and Albert made sure we had the most open pitch (the site is in beautiful woodland), and because of this we picked up satellite with no trouble what so ever.
The village of Angmering is very close and is a lovely large village with a fish & chip shop and an Indian takeaway both of which we can recommend.
All in all a wonderful little site that is well worth a visit.

We arrived on site quite late and Albert greeted us and showed us round. Our pitch was in a quiet spot we pointed the tent towards the woodland and settled in. It was a lovely spot for a quiet weekend away from the boys and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Don't forget to get the code number for the toilet/ shower block (closed daily 10.30 - 11.30 for cleaning)The toilet, shower and washing up facilities were clean, immaculate and complete with hand dryer and hair dryer! showers are roomy and free and hot! recycling facilities are available - they offer a recycling bin!
The nearest shops, pub is in Angmering a classic Sussex village, but Sainsburies and pets at home are a 5 minute drive also, if like us you forget the dog spike!
Nice easy walk - we combined 3! that ends at the Woodmans Arms - just the A27 is very busy so be careful crossing. Arundel is not far. Fantastic campsite, will be back for another quiet weekend. There is noise at night from the A27 but in the day it is drowned out by birdsong. As long as gate is shut it is child friendly!

As always another fantastic stay at Acorns, everything we needed for a much earned chill out week away. The place was immaculate as always and nothing too much a bother for Albert.
New to our list of fantastic things about the area - the curry take away in the village - a real must for those moments when you really cannot be bothered with cooking!
Littlehampton brilliant for crabbing - top score of 15 this time!
To sum up - another brilliant holiday, everything you could wish for in a camp site and much much more. Thank you!

If you want quiet and peaceful then this site is for you!
The site is very small, but the pitches are huge with loads of space in between, giving lots of personal space. There were only 6 other pitches in use during our 4 night stay.
Set in woodland, you feel away from everything and totally relaxed, although you can hear road noise, this was not intrusive, and after an hour or two it just blended into the background.
Albert was very helpful, and was the perfect host ie. Available but not intrusive. He was really helpful when we had trouble erecting our new tent in the rain. He and a friend of his were very quick to offer assistance, and it was gratefully received! Having just worked a night shift and a long drive, my brain seized and I forgot how to put the thing up. He must have thought 'what a wally' but didn't show it!
Amenities are limited on site (the shower block was brill, and no queueing in the morning), but the local village has shops, pub and takeaways aplenty, and is only a short drive / walk away, and larger supermarket within 3 miles or so.
The web site states that the amount of children allowed on site is limited, however 5 out of the 7 families during our stay had children, and they were not made to feel unwelcome.
We were really impressed with this site, and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. We will definitely be re-visiting in future.

Because of a breakdown to our towing vehicle, we were unable to meet our original booking time and date, and contacted the site who were very helpful in arranging a new booking without extra charge.
We arrived at the site to be met by the owner (Albert) who was extremely helpful, the pitches were more than adequate in size, and Albert ensured we had a good position on the site, We have a dog and there are excellent walking areas for the dog to explore. This campsite has all the facilities you need, and is close to the village of Angmering, and only five miles from Worthing, Access from the A27 is excellent even for long caravans.
This site is a quiet and comfortable site. We enjoyed our stay there and will use the site again next time we are in the area.

Don't be mis-led by previous reviews being in 2008. The site was closed for the past year or so as the owners were making the site even better. We,my wife and I, were greeted by Albert, the owner, with a big smile to be told that we were the very first visitors on it's first day of re-opening.And what a site!
The pitches were really spacious. And I mean spacious! The immaculate new showers and toilets were as good as the ones back home, with constant hot water. Even my wife, who I must admit is very particular, was lost for words.1st time for years! A happy wife made it a great few days. There was even a superb nature trail in the surounding woodlands. Albert was always at hand to give friendly, helpful advice. Never in your face. He had rules and very high standards for the site as it was very obvious he and his wife, Pam, are very very proud of what they have achieved. The whole ambience of the sight was just peaceful and relaxing and was only interrupted by the many woodpeckers we saw. I even saw a Heron making his presence known.
Outside the site, approx 2 mins walk there is a 16th century, I think, Inn, serving superb food. If you walked into the village of Angmering, about 10 mins away, you must get an Indian takeaway from Shatiques. Venture further afield and you have the South Downs and some fantastic villages to walk around. Amberley and Slindon have got to be top 10 villages in the Uk. Choc box houses everywhere
Back to Acorns and I have to say that this is a must visit site

Nice small site surrounded by woodland, immaculate (and I mean immaculate!) toilet / shower / washing up facilities. Home made jam available from owners, helpful local information in the washing up area, free ice pack re-freeze.
The site would be perfect if you could just move it another 800 yds away from the A27 - a road which is surprisingly busy even during the night! However, this didn't keep us awake or bother us unduly.
