A Great chance to unwind! We used the site as a base for a week while visiting family who were staying in the area. The entrance set the scene for a perfect break. The site is understated but beautifully kept. From the spotless toilet block with its book shelves and free standing soap dispensers, to the recycling and composting bins provided for the tent. Albert clearly cares for the site and his guests. On one occasion my wife visited the toilet block during the allotted cleaning time. Albert stopped cleaning a left saying ' I'll come back later, I am here for your convenience not the other way round'. The site forces you to slow down and take it all in. If you are lucky (like me), you will disturb deer grazing outside the shower block in the morning and see hawks hunting between the trees. I would gladly sacrifice the amenities (shop, Wi-Fi, etc. ) of larger sites, for the peace and comfort this site.

We stayed at Acorns for 6 nights (2 adults). The site is very well maintained with generous sized pitches, in lovely locations within the site. We selected a pitch looking out to the woodland area: lovely outlook. Other visitors chose sites in the the more shaded areas - we were fortunate to have very good weather: hot and sunny for the first few days. We were also fortunate to visit when the site was not very busy: only 3 to 4 other visitors. So we enjoyed a spacious and peaceful site. As others have mentioned, Albert was very helpful and kept the shower block spotlessly clean. Facilities: the 2 showers/2 loos for women and same for men were perfectly adequate for the quiet week that we were there, but could be less so when the site is full. Also of note: access to the site could be easily missed as the sign for Acorns is very small. But perhaps this is deliberate to keep the location private and discreet.

Just got back from this wonderful, wonderful site. Its so peaceful. Albert was very welcoming. Set amongst a wooded glade, with a walks amongst the woods. The toilets and showers are absolutely spotless, although could do with an extra hook in the shower cubicle. There is a Co-op in the village which is about a 15 min walk away which also houses the Post Office and a great fish and chip shop. Albert gave us some great advise about taking the train to Brighton from the village station, as parking is so expensive. The village station also has trains to London. This was a fantastic site. Close to the A27, but we never hear it. Highly recommend this site.

We received a very friendly welcome from Albert. He showed us the area we could set up in.

It was a glade part of the wood so the best of both worlds.

The site was very peaceful and well kept. The toilet block and washing up area were modern and very clean. They were checked often throughout the day.

There was a small libery of books and magazines if required. There is a small woodland walk at the site with information boards which younger campers would find interesting.

Angmering is a short walking distance from the site as well as a few pubs that have food. A fish and chip shop and tea rooms. There is a large Sainsbury's close by that has everything, apparently the 5 th largest in the UK. Littlehampton is also a short drive with lovely beaches. I would be happy to visit this site again and highly recommend it for a tranquil and peaceful place to camp.

The site also includes free electric hookup if required.

Just got back from this wonderful, wonderful site. Its so peaceful. Albert and family are really welcoming. Set amongst a wooded glade, there are plenty of places to sit and relax whether in the shade or in full sun. The toilets and showers are absolutely spotless, although could do with an extra hook in the shower cubicle. There is no on-site shop, so you will need to visit the village for any groceries. There is a Co-op which also houses the Post Office and a great fish and chip shop. There are also 2 public houses, tried both and preferred The Spotted Cow. There are a few walks in the wood, but if you go to where the washing up area is there are notices of the walks to go on. I will be back. Albert made us very welcome and helped me with my hubby who has just started dialysis which is brilliant. Also, our cat Timber made friends (sort of) with One-eyed Pete, the black cat:). Will we be back? Absolutely, without a doubt. Have put N/a for child friendliness as we didn't bring any. But not really much to do for older kids, but may be for younger ones (ages about 5-8), who will love the woods

If you are looking for a busy lively site then don't come here! Acorns is the most tranquil and beautiful, relaxing campsite we have ever visited. The pitches are large and well spaced with the woodland setting giving plenty of shade. The shower block is always spotlessly clean and there are never any queues for facilities as the site is so quiet.

Nearby Arundel is well worth a visit where the Red Lion in the town serves great food and is dog friendly too. The local tandoori in the village delivers excellent food directly to your tent if you are feeling so relaxed that you don't want to move.

Albert the owner is really helpful and full of local information. Thanks Albert, we are thoroughly recharged and will definitely be back!

Beautifully clean little site. Large plots. Spotlessly clean toilets and showers. Albert the owner is a real friendly guy and full of advise. The local Indian takeaway delivers to you tent. Will be coming again and again. Only gave 6/10 for child friendly as it's not really a site for little ones

A nice friendly welcome on arrival and great pre-visit communication. This is a truly lovely site - very spacious pitches - we had a huge tent pitch by the trees. Lovely well maintained site with the cleanest toilets and showers I've ever seen on any site! This is a very peaceful site yet only a few minutes walk to the bus stop for Worthing or Littlehampton. We travelled as a family our little boy didn't miss not being able to play ball games as the recreation ground was just a short walk away and the no games rule really helped make this break extra relaxing.

It was so nice listening out for the Owls at night time and the various bird tweets and sounds in the morning.

The site occupies part of the owners woodland and our 4 year old loved exploring in the forest! We will certainly be returning and a lovely time was had - full credit to The Mariner Family for their hard work in creating and maintaining this little gem of a site!

This is a lovely campsite, all grass pitches surrounded by mature trees. The Toilet facilities were spotless, and as the site was quiet there was no problem accessing them. There are two loos and two showers per block. The birdsong was amazing, and I am sure on one night we heard a Nightingale. Albert the owner looks after the site, and is always available for any question or help you may need.

I would not say this is a site for children - more for adults enjoying the peace and quiet.

The site is well situated for all the local sites, Arundel, Littlehampton and the Sussex Downs. Big Sainsbury's down the road for all essentials, with newsagents and co-op in village of Angmering ten minutes walk away.

We will definitely re-visit.

What a lovely campsite…. It is quiet but our 9 year old Son, loved walking about the woods and exploring. The showers / toilets and washing up areas are just spotless. We are already looking to come again real soon. The site is near the village and some lovely pubs:- Try the Spotted Cow – lovely food and value for money (unlike the Lamb - which was overpriced). Arundel and Littlehampton are on the doorstep and are worth a visit.
