Firstly this is the 4th time we have visited this site in the space of 2 years and it suits us fine. We us the site early (March) and late (Oct/Nov) in the season and have not seen it at peak times.
The site is roughly 30 pitches and 2/3 of these have EHU. The pitches are fairly large easily accommodating our van awning and car with a little space left over. All pitches are on a gentle slope but this will not be an issue. There are no hardstandings all pitches are grass.
There are only 3 toilet cubicles and 2 shower cubicles on site. Again this is fine for when we visit but I can imagine the facilities are a little stretched at peak.
There are a couple of water points and a couple of chemical waste disposal points, one water point is a little close to a chemical point.
Having spent our early camping years in a tent I cant see that the site is geared up for tents, there are no washing up facilities at all.
If there could be any changes made then I believe a new toilet/shower block would give this a great boost. Otherwise as I've said before this site suits us well.

This was the first time we used Dove Meadows campsite & we had only booked a week’s holiday. We found the site very Quite, clean & easy access to beach/Shops, all in walking distance.
We found the site so peaceful & relaxing that we stayed for 2 weeks & returned a week later for a 3rd week’s holiday. We have also booked a holiday for 2 separate weeks in 2012.
We did not go away in 2011 or we would of stayed at Dove meadows.
The only thing I would say is the toilet/shower block area is a bit small but everything is there.
All in all a great site well worth trying & very reasonably priced

This site is ideal for visiting St Michaels Mount, Mounts Bay and Marazion marshes which are all only a very short walk away. At night the Mount is lit and looks amazing when viewed from the site. There is a sea front cycle route from the 'Station' car park to Penzance, avoiding the traffic and giving you a much better view too!
If you like to stay on CL & CS sites then a stay a Dove Meadows out of season will be a very familiar experience, with around 6 or 7 vans on site during our stay at half term in October, with 30+ pitches available. There are tall (caravan height) hedges at the back of the pitches and often between the pitches, affording a great degree of shelter in windy weather and privacy.
It is a small family run site with simple facilities. There are no hardstandings, not all pitches have electric and the showers and toilets are functional, rather than a joyful experience in the colder off season, but with a shower and loo in the van, the site facilities are a good back up.
The site has nothing provided for children in way of entertainment or play, so if the beach and surrounding area don't keep them amused then perhaps consider another site.

This was our fourteenth year visiting this site. As usual we were warmly welcomed by the current owners, who have made steady progress improving what had become a slightly tired site when they took it over a few years ago.
I must say that I do not see the point of spending thousands on a caravan/camper with the latest facilities and then complaining as some do that there are no dish washing facilities etc on the site. This is a small site and does not pretend to be a Caravan Club Travelodge.
The local area can supply some of the best scenery in the U.K. As well as great beaches, birdwatching, walking and easy access to the Scilly Isles ferry or Helicopter service.

Camped on this site, first visit this year and already planning to return next year for four weeks. Booked for 14 days this year but extended it to 16 we enjoyed it that much. The site is set up for touring vans, but it was fine for our needs, we had three children and it was a very friendly site both the owners and people staying there. There were many campers and caravan people who have returned to this site year after year and stay for most of the summer holidays and when time to go didn't want to go home.
The beach is just a few minutes down the road and is wonderful and doesn't get crowded and looking out at St Michaels Mount what a view. Few pubs locally which allow children and have entertainment which we enjoyed the locals company they were very friendly.
We went down with family there was four tents and fourteen people in total, the showers were clean and hot and my kids enjoyed using them which is a good sign, toilets although small were cleaned regularly, we didn't brush our teeth in the sinks but this wasn't a problem at the end of the day you are camping and its all about back to nature.
Best camping holiday we have had for a while and we have been camping a long time, we have recommended it to people but come and make up your own mind we all have different views!

My stay at Dove Meadows was again fantastic, great location by the sea each time I meet up with old friends and because we feel so welcome have already booked for 2011 for the sixth consecutive year. No need to use vehicle Marazion 10 minute walk with the wonderful St Michaels Mount great pubs , shops and galleries all easy level walking. Bus stop end of site, with access to Penzance. Facilities adequate and clean. The site is well maintained with a number of individual pitches secluded. We have always found a true family welcome on each visit.

Lovely looking site in beautiful area; well maintained grounds, nice hedges etc. Two showers - coin operated - dirty, hard to regulate and therefore run out of time before you can finish properly. Panelling of one was falling off wall
Three toilets; very small cubicles, with the most tiny hand basins squashed into corner with electric water heaters over them - hence no way to wash teeth easily or wash face properly
I was there 4 days and the open bins in the cubicles were not emptied and were full of tissues. Someone had dabbed silicone around various bits in toilets and showers, and this was hanging off in places and mouldy. No mirrors anywhere.
Only found 2 drinking water taps - both with dirty hoses attached to them, and one only couple of foot from chemical toilet dump.
No washing up facilities on this site - surely a couple of sinks could be provided! Could hardly believe it all - have just come back from trip in Europe where municipal and 2 star sites far exceed this site.
When I asked about washing up facilities and wash basins, I was told this is a 'touring' site, by which I understood it was for completely self-contained units. If this is so, why bother to provide anything then? As there were several tents arrive and small motorhomes, they are obviously open to everyone. I noted these people did not stay more than one night! They are charging same prices as others but are sadly letting themselves down.
