On arrival to dove meadows we had a lovely welcome from the site wardens and the owner.
Nothing was too much trouble for them, we had arrived early and we were able to leave the caravan and truck parked up while we went for breakfast and they even cut the grass before we pitched up! ringing us at the cafe to let us know the pitch was ready!
Very pretty site, clean, well kept, spacious pitches. 5 minutes walk to the beach and a couple of minutes more into town.
If we went back to marazion we would definitely stay at this site. Would thoroughly recommend it to anyone and its very competitively priced.
Many thanks to leighton the site warden for the use of his wardrobe pole to adjust the aerial for my other half to get reception on the tv for the Olympics. He really saved the day!
I wish all sites, owners and site wardens were as nice as this. It made our stay a great one.

Location excellent for local site seeing etc
Toilets basic but very clean and functional
Site well maintained
Site owner Gordon is very friendly informative and sociable.
Kings arms in Marazion serves lovely food
Godolphin arms has large patio area with views across the beach and st micheal s mount
Bens Cornish kitchen in village is one to avoid as the prices well out shine the food!
Will be definitely visiting n this site again ASAP

A great site in a great location. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The site is well-kept and peaceful. Marazion is beautiful, and the beach is great, with fantastic views. Transport links are good, buses go to Penzance and there are links to St Ives and Land's End, and we also took a trip to the Isles of Scilly. We visited in 2011 and were so impressed we returned for a longer stay in 2012.

Very friendly & helpful from booking on the telephone to sorting out our arrival on site.
The site used to be a CS (Camping & Caravanning Club which could only have 5 units on site). It has been expanded. There are electric hookups & tent pitches without electric.
There are only 2 unisex showers & 3 unisex toilets which was not a problem for us as this was not high season. The previous problems with cleanliness mentioned on the previous review appeared to have been rectified. The shower costs 50p but we found the paid time adequate. We also found the cubicle size adequate.
Site is very well laid out & attractive with hedges dividing the various areas. The pitch we were on is slightly sloping but we did not find this a problem with appropriate levelling.
Excellent dog walk at the end of the lane once you have turned right out of the site. The beach is brilliant but sadly dogs are not allowed on it during the day from May to September. No playground area or similar on the site for kids.
All in all a great 'no frills' site but not suitable for those who prefer full facilities. Luckily this isn't us so we will use this site again.

We have been to Dove Meadows so many times and it just gets better and better, lovely friendly and always helpful, nothing is ever too much trouble. Help is always at hand,
Toilets and showers on site and they do what they are there for, tidy grounds and no playground so great, not always too many children, for the more mature generation!
I would recommend this site to anyone, the walk to the beach and St Michaels Mount is level and flat, no steep hill and a very quite lane to the main road.
Excellent well worth a visit !

We stayed at Dove Meadows as part of our surf tour of Cornwall.
Camping, we found that the site catered for our requirements.
The facilities are functional and clean. Many a pleasant conversation with site Owner and Warden were had whilst the facilities were obviously being cleaned.
The site was busy but I did not experience the queues mentioned below. The site was calm and noise did not last into the evenings
The surrounding area is incredible. Marazion, a small market town is only 10 mins walk away. St Michael's mount (the reason why we all come here) can be seen from some pitches on the site. Awesome.
The site is great value for money. When you compare it to some of the sites near St Ives you realise just how good it is.

I was really rather disappointed with this site, when on the surface it appears to be a wonderfully pretty site, but the facilities really do let it down.
Let’s start with the positives. The place is really attractive, there are hedges separating different parts of the site, pleasant planting and the ground is well cared for and of course there are views of St Michael’s Mount from some of the pitches, but only a minority of them. The owners were very welcoming and friendly, offering numerous leaflets on the area and they took us to our pitch and asked if we were happy in that location. Marazion is a pleasant little town/village and along with St Michael’s Mount is very close.
The negatives are very much facilities related, the toilets really are not up to scratch. Firstly, they are located on the end of the large house and there are just three unisex toilets and two showers and they are small. In fact they are very small, cramped almost, if you’re larger than average as I am it was quite difficult moving around inside and easily closing the door. As they were small, so the sink was small, in my opinion not enough room to wash, shave or brush your teeth in.
Secondly, the toilets were not clean, which along with the size of the sinks resulted in brushing my teeth using a cup full of water at my van. The toilets were what I call long term dirty, i. E. Hadn’t been dusted and there were cobwebs in the corners and they were short term dirty, i. E. The sinks and toilets bowls didn’t get a clean whilst I was there. The bins were open and had no swing lid on them and did not appear to be emptied during my three day stay.
The site was average price and therefore, you expect better than this. It appears from previous reviews that the toilets are generally kept clean and maybe because the owner had a bad back and could barely move was the reason they were not cleaned, however, if you can’t keep your site clean don’t take money off people, close the site or offer a discount. Plus of course it was 50p for about a five minute shower, which if I’d paid a lot less I might have accepted. There is also only one washing up sink with a cold water tap only.
I don’t like to write bad reviews as all campsites are different and have their differing charms and so does this site, but the facilities just do not do this site any favours.

Visited whilst touring Cornwall.
Lovely well maintained little site, ideally situated for both Marazion & Penzance.
Site warden extremely pleasant and helpful.
Pitches all grass and generally level.
Due to time of year we had the place to ourselves therefore facilities were adequate, could be a different story in high season when busy, as only 2 Showers & 3 Toilets.
Marazion is a 5 minute walk away and has several restaurants/pubs - Tried them all!
Would recommend & will return!

Great location, clean and tidy site, toilets kept clean, large pitches, go every year. Lovely New Wardens in high season, 10/10. We go hiking around the area, with fantastic scenery, if your lucky, you might have a pitch that looks at St Michaels Mount that’s lit up at night!, you can walk to Penzance easily along the see front, and watch the Isles of Scilly helicopter taking off, and trains leaving for London, fantastic beech for children and families, and popular with wind surfers and water sports. Improving year by year.

This was our first visit to this site, it had been highly recommended to us by some friends. We have a large tent and it was a little cramped on the pitch they gave us but it was fine.
There is nothing for the kids to do on the site but just a short walk down the road is a fantastic park and the beach. ( they don't seem to want kids there and no ball games are allowed)
The only thing that lets this site down are the toilets they are very basic and you have to pay 50p for a shower and the fact that there are no washing up facilities.
But all in all an excellent base for the family close to the beach and town.
The best thing about the site is the price the best value in the area but I guess you get what you pay for. If you want no frills and a base close to the beach this is the site for you.
My kids loved it here and with the park just down the road (we went there most nights after tea till it was dark). It was the best camping holiday we have had in 4 years. ( but that could have been down to the fact we had the best weather in 4 years too.
