This is a lovely level camp site in a great location, just a few minutes from the beach, an RSPB nature reserve and of course St Michael's Mount. The owners were very friendly and helpful on our arrival and helped us manoeuvre our somewhat unwieldy 22 ' van into position. Dogs are welcome. The toilets and showers are fine though only two showers so we used our shower in the caravan. There is a bus stop right outside and good walks from the site. Its a good centre for touring West Cornwall although we were surprised at the cost of parking which put us off exploring some of the smaller picturesque places. We were particularly surprised at the ruthlessness of some private car park owners mentioning specifically Lamorna Cove where you would be very lucky to escape without paying a £100 'fee' for any tiny infringement of his car park rules - he lurks waiting for unsuspecting holiday makers spending just a few minutes too long admiring the breathtaking Cornish coast. Don't go there at all by car - just explore the prettier coves down towards the Minack. Apart from our Friday 13th Lamorna experience we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this touring site.

Very quiet and tidy site.
I had no one next to me which effectively gave me a double pitch all to myself for just a one man tent and a motorbike.
The grass was hard enough that my side stand didn't sink in and my bike fall over.
The was flat and level and had privacy and wind protection from the high hedges.
The lady in reception was helpful and friendly.
The toilets and showers were clean and simple (once I realised the reason the shower wasn't working was I needed to put 50p in the box)
I only stayed one night so only had chance to walk in to Marazion and do a little bit of exploring.
The chip shop was excellent.
It was a great little site and I would go back for sure.

Good points: Nice pitches, close to the beach and St Michael's Mount
Bad points: Not enough toilets or showers for the site and what there are are tiny and dated: to add insult to injury you have to pay for the showers. There are dishwashing facilities if you don't mind cold water. Did not strike us as particularly dog or children friendly. The site Wardens were friendly enough but I couldn't say that about the owners.
Overall we enjoyed our holiday we would not visit this particular site again.

We stayed on this site last year and again this year. As mentioned on previous reviews. The comments for this site are as follows:
POSITIVES
Good sized pitches and a nice rural position just off the main Penzance Road. With planted hedges.
Electric hook ups available.
The site overall is looked after very well.
The wardens Leighton and his wife are lovely helpful people and nothing is too much trouble. Sadly I believe this is their last year so it will be interesting to see if the new wardens equal their level of helpfulness and hospitality.
Lots of local information leaflets and bus timetables available and tourist information packs.
The owners are also friendly and chatty.
Buses within 5 minutes to Penzance and to Helston and beyond.
Near to St Michaels Mount and the beaches.
NEGATIVES.
As has also been mentioned, not especially cheap but location compensates but 50p for showers is a real pain. Also the showers and loos are inadequate in terms of numbers available, facilities and quality for the size of the site. One day we could not get any hot water despite queuing and then losing 50p. Nothing has changed with these showers since last year.
No hot water for washing up for campers. Surely a hygiene hazard
SUGGESTIONS.
Install solar panels on the roof of the washing up area to generate hot water. (New Green Deal may be available for this).
Maybe expand this building to incorporate showers(again using solar power) or alternatively move the toilets down here, although appreciate sewerage issues. Maybe go alternative and have composting toilets !
Change all the shower rooms to toilets.
If none of the above happens then at least install a hand drier in the toilets, and more hooks shower curtains and stools in the showers for clothes.
I would like to think that the owners would take on board constructive suggestions and respond and action accordingly

We stay here as much as possible. We only live 15 minutes away and this is our favourite place to go.
The site owners are lovely and the warden who was there for the season was really helpful.
The site is well set out with hedging to break it up and give protection and privacy.
People who stay here come back time after time and many of them live within the locality, that must be the best recommendation going.
The beach is wonderful, and if you have dogs there is another beach just round the corner from the main one where they are allowed and towards Penzance there is Longrock where they can run to their hearts content.
Yes ok the site has limited toilet and shower facilities but who cares, you are on holiday in one of the most beautiful places in England.
Even the fish and chips which come on Thursday and Saturday are perfectly cooked

Having decided to take a last minute camping trip the hunt was on to find somewhere with availability for the week before August Bank Holiday. Luckily our first choice site was full so we rang here instead. I say 'luckily' as we were really pleased that we ended up at Dove Meadow instead.
Upon arrival the on-site warden gives you a guided tour of the facilities. This only takes a couple of minutes as there's just 3 unisex WC cubicles, 2 unisex showers (50p charge), 1 washing up point, 1 waste disposal point. They have to be commended though for their efforts to promote recycling as they have enough bins available to separate out all of your rubbish.
This lack of facilities was the only thing that let this site down as the grounds themselves were very, very good. There were hedges separating the site out into sectors and the level ground was well maintained. Privacy wasn't a problem either as I think I've only ever once had a bigger camping pitch.
The huge stretch of beach at Marazion is only a 5-6 minute walk away, with the town/village about 10-12 minutes flat walk away. There are 3 pubs available, and having eaten at all of them, I can say that the Kings Arms is definitely the best. (check out Trip Advisor first)
If you've never been to this part of South Cornwall you'll find this a fantastic base to explore from. Praa beach, Porthleven, St Ives, Hayle, etc are all within a 20 minute drive away.
If you're after a rowdy site which packs hundreds of customers in like sardines then stick with Haven. However if you're after a lovely, clean, spacious site that's well respected by its users then I'd recommend staying here.

Stopped at this lovely campsite in August of this year.
Do stay here if:
1. You like a nice quiet site.
2. Respect other people and their property.
3. Have well behaved kids who are polite and know how to conduct themselves.
4. Like to go to bed at a reasonable hour, or know how to stay quiet when others are in bed.
5. You can keep the toilets and shower clean after you use it.
6. Don't mind waiting 5 minutes to use a shower/toilet (though I must admit I didn't have to queue too many times)and look at it as an opportunity to stop and talk to other campers.
DON'T stop here if:
1. You want night time entertainment.
2. Roll in drunk and want to be loud at all hours of the night.
3. Have children who don't know how to behave and respect other peoples' property (I'm a parent myself and parents you know your children, even if you don't like to admit it)
4. You don't care about other people and their peace and quiet.
5. Can't keep the toilet/shower clean, and think stealing the sink plug is acceptable (it isn't!)
6. Mind occasionally queuing for the toilet/shower, and don't look at it as an opportunity to stop and talk to other campers.
This was one of the quietest campsites I have ever stayed on. This is why I loved it! I can't wait to go back again next year. The owners and the wardens were brilliant. The toilets were cleaned regularly by the warden (and occasionally other considerate campers), and was very reasonable for the facilities on offer.
It literally is 10 minutes walk to the beach and only 15 minutes walk to St Michael's Mount. Only half an hour from St Ives/Helston. Ten minutes from Penzance, where there is a Morrisons and Tesco (a new Sainsbury is being built just next door to these two stores). So plenty of opportunity for getting your weekly shop or just pop for a loaf, etc.
There are several pubs in Marazion worth visiting, and all easily within walking distance of the campsite (even for people with mobility problems). Marazion's beach is a little pebbly, but a pair of jellies/boat shoes works wonders. An ideal location to explore the south west coast.
Praa Sands has a golden sandy beach, and fantastic waves for body boarding, and is only a 10-15 drive from Marazion. Porthleven has a lovely harbour and has some lovely fish & chip shops, as well as 'The Ship' which does fantastic meals.
A truly fantastic little campsite, which is well placed. But 'shhhh' don't tell too many people!
Don't forget my pitch (apple 2). It was ideal, even if it did have a little bit of a slope! LOL. X

Lovely site, superb location, as already mentioned, toilet and shower facilities somewhat limited, and no hand driers! Also only one sink seemed to have hot water. Dishwashing facilities also were only one sink, but I was able to do ours in the caravan, but if you were in a tent. Would happily stay here again, nice quiet site and as I said, superb location. Didn't have children with us this week, but the children that were there seemed to be well catered for.

Had a lovely week camping at Dove Meadow. A really well kept campsite with beautiful plants all around the site.
We were in a tent without hookup and our pitch was at the front of the site which gave us a lovely view of St Michael's Mount.
The best thing about the site is it's location. Being just 5 minutes from the beach meant we hardly used the car all week. With the Mount, the rock pools, the endless beach, the nature reserve and the village itself, Marazion is just lovely.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. More than happy to charge mobile phones and camera batteries and put freezer blocks in the freezer.
Facilities, as mentioned in other reviews, are limited. Only 3 toilets and 2 showers but despite the fact the site was full I only had to queue once as most of the units were caravans or camper vans with their own facilities.
There isn't a play area in the campsite itself but there is a very good one down at the sea front. The kids were entertained without though as they happily cycled around the site and found lots of other kids to play with.
We will definitely be returning as there is so much more to see and do in the area.

Lovely site, how many places can you see St Michaels Mount from the front gate?
Site wardens very friendly and helpful, a small back packing tent was no problem, I was given a huge grass pitch to myself as that was the standard pitch. All pitch sizes compared very favourably with Camping & Caravanning Club, the non-electric hook up grass pitches in particular. Plenty of hedges and shrubs as cover.
Well provided with water points, washing up area and chemical disposal. Toilets are adequate, sure sometimes they are engaged, I note most of you were in caravans, use your own maybe? :-) Yes, showers are 50p but the water runs for a long time and the cubicles are big - every site I've ever been to charges for showers, it stops the careless leaving them running.
Families should note no ball games on site, but this is respectful of other campers and Marazion beach literally 5 mins walk down the lane has acres of golden sand at all but highest tide to exhaust the kids on. Marazion village centre is 6-10 minutes walk, with cafes, baker, small shop, pharmacy, post office & galleries. Tons of pubs and restaurants, recommend 'The Kings Arms' and 'Bens Cornish Kitchen' (more expensive but frankly fantastic food).
Of course St Michaels Mount (NT) is also easy walking distance, there are several bus stops 5-10 minutes walk from the site where you can get buses to Penzance, St Ives & Helston. Be sure to visit pretty Perranuthnoe just down the coast and eat at the lovely Peppercorn cafe, you can even walk from Marazion, its only about 2 miles.
I liked this spot so much that I'll be abandoning the C&CC site at Sennen as I can walk into the village for an excellent meal and pint of cider and totter back up the lane with a torch some while later - no car required :-)
