Stayed at Dove Meadows for 4 nights and found it to be fantastic.
Everyone really friendly and helpful and site very Covid safe. We were in our motorhome so didn't use the facilities so can't comment on those however copious amounts of sanitiser around the site including around the water and waste disposal areas.
Site is immaculately kept. Nice spacing and hedges between pitches which provides shelter. A lot of pitches not completely level so ramps needed if in a van.
Great location just opposite one end of Long Rock Beach. You walk out from the road leading to the site and you are looking directly at St Michaels Mount.
Long Rock Beach had dog restrictions lifted from 1st September so great to walk on this beautiful beach any time of day and despite lovely weather it was really quiet.
Marazion has a few shops, pubs and restaurants. There is only one shop for provisions which had all the basics you need but if you want more choice there is a Morrisons, Sainsburys and Tesco all next to each other about a mile or so along the road towards Penzance.
Bus service along the coast takes you both ways however the walk in to Penzance is easy and flat along a pedestrian walk way or the beach and is about 2 miles.
Lots of shops, pubs etc in Penzance and can highly recommend The Dolphin opposite Penzance Harbour. We ate there twice as it was so good. Really good food, service and dog friendly.
We will definitely return to Dove Meadows!

Fairly level site but may need ramps (we did). Very clean and well kept, no shop but plenty within easy distance. Site managers are helpful and knowledgeable.
Biggest drawback was very basic gents loos and showers - only three and no hot water to WHBs. Showers cost 50p a go but they were piping hot. Ladies more updated in timber built block but could be queues in busy periods. Be prepared to make more use of your own facilities I think. Waste disposal points at waist level so empty regularly unless you want to do some body building!
Having said all that, the site location is terrific, 5 minutes walk from the beach & an RSPB reserve and 10/15 minutes into town with fantastic views across the bay to St Michael's Mount.
The cycle way runs across the top of the beach all the way to Penzance and on to Mousehole and there's the NCN to Hayle (and on to the Godrevy light house) that runs from the site itself.
All in all, very difficult to beat, would certainly visit again.

Lovely campsite in a fantastic location.
Only a short walk to the beach and town.
Nicely landscaped, with clean showers and toilets.
Clear signs for bins etc. Will be back.

Stayed here for one week. Perfect location. Very helpful and friendly staff. Well located site. Somewhat uneven pitches in the majority of the site. I am told the ladies facilities were very clean and modern.
The Gents was VERY clean but very dated. With no hand drying facilities. Would we recommend it? Would we return? Absolutely. In fact we plan to return for two weeks next year. Thanks for a great stay.

Our 2nd year at this site for 2 nights. Basic but clean and friendly - big downside however is no hot water or light in the really poor washing up area.
15 minute walk eastwards into Marazion for St Michaels Mount. Slightly longer alongside the beach westwards to the great dog-friendly beach at Long Rock towards Penzance.
Special mention for the superb fish and chip van visiting site - Saturday if we recall correctly.

We really enjoyed out stay at Dove Meadows, it is a lovely peaceful site with nice big pitches separated by planting. The managers of the site and owners were helpful and friendly and the location cannot be beaten, being just a short stroll from the beach and Marazion.
The facilities were nice and clean but there is room for improvement in the gents. The only downside for us was that there was no hot water for washing up, which having camped years I find very odd, even at the most basic of sites there is usually hot water to wash up.
As we were in a tent this caused some issues for us as it was difficult to wash our pots, also we have a toddler who needed milk cups etc washing and everything was left feeling not quite clean.
In addition the pot wash is next to and shares a drain with the chemical disposal, and in the words of my 2 year old 'it stinks' not great to be washing your breakfast posts with someone emptying their weekends ablutions four feet away.
However, the majority of visitors to the site were in caravans and motor homes, which I suppose have their own hot water. And so washing up is not an issue for them. I would certainly return to this site, but hopefully when we have upgraded to a caravan (we are getting to old for camping now anyway!)

Spent two nights here in mid August. Cost for a grass pitch with hookup was £24 per night which I think is a bit high for the standard of site.
Approach road to the site is a little tight but not really an issuei. The welcome from the wardens was warm and very chatty, even coming for a look around our van as they were looking to chage their own.
The site is quite small and quite with areas of 6-8 pitches separated by hedges. All pitches are grass, well drained and predominantly flat. There is a new ladies facilities block which is excellent, the mens are part of the main house and a bit older but clean and perfectly adequate although with only two showers there is sometimes a queue in the mornings. Showers are 50p for 5 mins.
There is only one fresh water fill up, grey water and chemical dump area near the reception hut on arrival which is slightly limiting, the grey water particularly is not ideal as it is a slight distance and uphill from of where you have to park - we didn't bother.
Location wise the site is all about St Michael's Mount and It's an easy 10 minute walk into Marazion and the causeway/ferries (£2 each way for adults). The Mount itself with the catsle and the gardens is excellent and well worth a visit but like all National Trust properties expensive if you are not a member. We arrived around 10:00 and although busy it was bearable, by the time we left at around 13:00 it was heaving so plan to get there as early as possible to avoid the crowds. Penzance is a pleasant 1 hour walk along the sea wall pathway but as a town it's disappointing with little charm.
Overall although I think the site is overpriced it was nice and a perfect location for the Mount and we would probably use again if we were in the area and wanted to walk in.

Nice little site with very friendly wardens/owners. Easy walk into Marazion but you need a torch after dark. Slightly sloping grass pitches which strangely are overlooked by some houses.
Ladies facilities looked new, but showers needed 50p to use & were according to my wife, lukewarm & feeble. Gents, pretty awful but being updated it seems. Some road noise from behind but not too intrusive.

A small, friendly site that is friendly, welcoming and incredibly well maintained. Prices are very reasonable and we personally did not feel the lack of a shop and laundry facilities were an issue, the pretty little village of Marazion has everything you need for basic supplies and the town of Penzance is a short drive/bus ride/cycle ride away.
The ladies toilet and shower facilities were excellent, I only have my husbands word for the men's facilities which he said were sufficient but in need of an upgrade (I believe this is being undertaken this year so problem solved!)
Pitches are spacious and many have trees & hedges for added privacy although we preferred the quiet little area of 5 or 6 pitches nearest to the facilities. Wardens Jean & Sean are some of the nicest people we've met and keep the site running smoothly and efficiently with a smile and always a bit of friendly banter.
We had no issues at all but I'm confident that had any arisen, they would have been dealt with immediately. Having 4 dogs we spent most of our time on the dog friendly Long Rock beach which is within easy reach. And of course, virtually everywhere you are in the area surrounding Dove meadows, you have the beautiful view of St Michaels Mount.
All in all this little site is a gem, probably more suited to couples than families as there are no play facilities on site and no ball games allowed. This makes for a very quiet, peaceful little site so if this is what you need then you won't be disappointed. Already booked again for 2016!
Maybe one teeny weeny suggestion. A shelf underneath the hairdryer plug socket or next to the mirror in the ladies, just somewhere to put your things while drying your hair to save putting them on the floor?

Our first visit to this site in lovely Marazion did not like our first pitch offered but our second one was lovely secluded and quiet. The ladies toilet block was new and kept as clean as possible ( I would suggest a larger mat in the doorway to stop the amount of grass taken in ) other half said gents needed a facelift. It is a bit of a walk into town if your getting on in years like us I did it at least twice day, papers and coffee am exploring pm, but well worth it what a pretty place with shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and of course St Michaels Mount I walked it there and back was great(ticked it off my bucket list)You can catch a bus into St Ives or Penzance. Very central for walks too. Loved it.
