A nice site, looks very welcoming on arrival, lots of pretty potted plants. We didn't have any children with us but the playground looked nice, and the toilets were kept very clean and had music playing which was a nice touch but would benefit from a lick of paint to brighten them up.

We booked two nights here but only stayed one, a couple of reasons being it is right next to a very busy road, not too much of a problem if you are in a tent because the tent field lies further back, but we found it to be really noisy. We also had a dog and there was a dog walk just past the tent field but because it had been raining heavy it was extremely muddy, also there was no dog bin down there or any signs asking for dog owners to clean up after their dogs so it looked like dog owners were using it just so the dogs could go to the toilet so it wasn't at all pleasant, you had to watch where you were walking!

We visited Alva Glen that was a great day out, some great walking and great views. Overall it is a nice place, the owners are very pleasant and really helpful, would just suggest putting a dog bin by the dog walk with a sign for dog owners to clean up after.

This was a lovely site ,they were good enough to phone us to say it had been really wet and not to come but we were meeting 4 other groups so decided to chance it.We chose this place as I am really fussy about toilets and showers it has won awards every year.I really have been to better showers and toilets they were average.Only 4 showers so hard to get in- a bit of a wait.We seemed to miss out on their music too!Quite a long walk from the tents too. Laundry room a bit smelly and tired too.Scary staff when we arrived a bit nippy, but we were left alone so that was ok.They made us pay adult price for 2 of my 3 children -yes they are 16 and 17 but they are at school and don't earn so eats into a family budget.I liked the view at the site hills were gorgeous,Wallace monument lovely at night ,lovely waterfall walk at alva glen.May go back for a stopover but not for the toilets-oh and yes they ordered rolls for us but at a cost so we drove to morrisons and got them for a fraction of the cost. Don't avoid this site I'm just being honest nothing major as you see.

Can't thank the crew at Witches Craig enough. My first time out in a motorhome and our last night before returning home. The site we had booked into was dreadful so at 8.30pm I rang witches Craig to see if they could accommodate. It was well gone 9pm before we arrived, site busy but they still took time to find us a good pitch and settle us in for night.

This is a great site especially if you want to visit Sterling as it's on the doorstep. Facilities are modern and clean and there is a great play area for kids.

It's a site we would definitely visit again but promise we will try and arrive earlier next time.

Thanks again to all at Witches Craig for making our last evening an enjoyable one.

After having booked in to Witches' Craig in the purpose-built cabin, we were shown to our pitch by an elderly lady on a bike (who turned out to be the owner's mother)! She even helped us to level the caravan on the grass pitch by providing appropriate bits of broken flagstone, obviously kept for the purpose.

The site is split into three distinct parts. The first section of pitches, with the toilet block at the centre, is closest to the road. Most of the pitches here are hardstanding. The second set of pitches (again with some hardstanding, but mostly grass) is beyond a handful of holiday homes and a purpose-built children's play area. The third part, an all grass area, is reserved for tents. As an aside, the owners have thoughtfully provided a couple of sheltered benches in the tent area for canvas-based guests to eat in or use to shelter from the rain. The second caravan area also has benches dotted around for alfresco eating.

We were on the far edge of the second caravan area, which did mean quite a hoof to the only toilet block. A £5 deposit is required for the key to the toilet block, which also incorporates the dishwashing and laundry facilities. All of these facilities are well set up and receive a thorough clean every day. However, this does mean that the toilets are out of commission for an hour each day, so don't get caught short!

My biggest grumble is that the chemical waste point is in a separate shelter right next to the road, which meant carrying a full waste container nearly the whole length of the site to get there. Not the most pleasant walk I had on site that weekend!

The site itself is surrounded by hills, one of which is topped by the Wallace Monument. Those of an energetic disposition can spend hours walking in the hills while those looking for civilisation will have to take the car, with Stirling and Falkirk close by.

All in all, a pleasant site with excellent facilities, although perhaps a bit lacking. Nevertheless, we would have no qualms about awarding Witches' Craig a glowing recommendation.

Very convenient for Stirling and Wallace stuff - however we just used it as a convenient stop off on the way back from a trip up north.

A lovely site - loads of caravans & not too many tents, so loads of space on the tent field. The field not very flat, so finding a level pitch was tricky. It was lovely to have picnic tables to use - we ended up choosing our pitch so that we were right next to one (there were more than enough to go round).

Toilets were spotless - about a three minute stroll away so don't leave it too late ot you'll be walking a bit funny. The only downside was that there was only one key between us and it got awkward if someone was in the shower and another wanted to access the toilets.

Leaving the tent at about 11:30pm, I upset about 15 rabbits who fled for the woods - my daughter was very pleased.

The noise from the road was occasionally annoying, but generally was not too bad.

Would definitely stay here again.

Easy booking facility all you have to do is supply your information online what type of unit you have and if you need electricity or have an awning, they do not require a deposit to book.

On arrival you pay for your stay and you'll need five pound deposit for the toilet keys, the key opens the gents toilets and ladies toilets as well as the laundry which has a fridge and a freezer in their and round the back of the toilet block is a dish washing area.

You get shown to your pitch by someone on a bike so try and not run them over.

You can order rolls and papers and milk for the morning they also sell cans of soft drink and water in reception.

Didn't use playground but it was fenced off. The tent field is at the back of the site quite a walk to the toilets, but it pipes music so you enjoy your visit.

When using the showers you have to press a green button on a silver box to give you eight minutes of hot water.

The pitches are open planned, and they give you lots of room so your not sqeezed in they tend to put caravans and folding campers in the front of site as they have electricity points don't know if they have any more electricty points in the rest of the park.

The only downside is it's suituated right next to a busy road but you get used to it.

With stirling a car ride or a bus ride there's plenty of shops for food and supplies. Also wallace monument is nearby which is lit up at night making it a prety good view.

Would definitely visit again.

This has got to be the best site we have stayed on. The site is owned and run by Vida and her family and a very warm welcome awaits you on arrival. Very quiet site and very relaxing although the main road outside the site is very busy.
Pitches are hard standing and grass. Vida and her family have just done a lot of work on the site and it is looking great. We always get a hard standing pitch when we go and have never had any problems. Good level pitches although the grass pitches look a bit uneaven but no major problems.
Toilet Block has won many awards for loo of the year and are spotless with plenty hot water for showering.
There is also a good sized play area for the kids and if they feel like an adventure there is always Dumyat hill the can climb. The city of Stirling is a short drive away with all the tourist atractions castle, old town jail ect ect. Morrisons Supper market and large retail park is a 5 min drive. All in all we have been back on many occasions and are going back again this week end Great site just go and have fun

Ps if you take a hard standing pitch for an awning remember the rock pegs.

 2 adults and 2 kiddies (6 & 3), stayed for 2 nights in April 2008.

I called on the Friday for same day arrival. The lady was very polite and helpful advising us to come prepared as it had been quite windy and the ground was soft.

Arrived on site, the site asked if we wanted to just pay for one night and see how it went as a two night-er fee wouldn't be refunded. I thought this was good of her. We paid for two nights and taken straight to our pitch. Offered milk, bread and newspapers for the morning.

We were the only tent on the Friday night, again she gave us a few tips on where to pitch.

Gave us a key (£5 deposit) to the lovely clean toilet block, absolutely spotless.

Again, as previously mentioned by others, it's shame the toilet block is at the other end of the park, but hey, the kids enjoyed the adventure before bed and it's no hardship really.

Great wee fenced off play park, our kids commandeered the two swings for the duration of our stay.

Tripped the electric on the Saturday morning (Doh!) The lass came straight out despite trying to sort out the papers for other customers. Very helpful and accommodating.

Cracking views from site of the Wallace Monument, and the Ochil hills. Nice walks in the woods direct from site. Blairlogie Kirk is a short walk away for some historical input.

Plenty shops, restaurants, fast food and Stirling castle only 10 minutes away or so.

All in all, a great, clean, accomodating site with no complaints from the kids or adults. Ice cream van still doing the rounds at about 7pm ish too!

We visited this site on our 1st ever camping trip (well as adults anyway). We thought this site had everything anyone could ask for. The kids loved the play area, the keys for the toilets (£5 deposit) were really useful they stopped the children messing about in them. The toilets were always spotless and were checked serveral times a day. Milk etc can be ordered. The reception area has loads of leaflets for local attractions and the staff were more than happy to help with directions and timescales to help you plan your days out. The staff also regulary patrol on a push bike to ensure all is well.

There are only 2 campsites suitable to explore Stirling from the other one is cheaper but is located next to a quarry and is underneath the motorway. With this in mind I feel Witches Craig

Is the perfect camp site to explore the central area of Scotland.

The kids have voted this site their favourite site so far ( We're now over 10 camping trips now!)

First Thing upon arrival is being greeted by very friendly staff , Facilities on site are very good and clean .

Location is Superb one of the nicest views on any site I have stayed , the caravan pitches are all well laid out , although I can understand some previous comments about road noise , we never suffered from that whatsoever .

Nothing was too much trouble for the owners , they were always on the go ferrying people to their pitches etc . Milk , paper and rolls can be ordered at reception .

We Also had an Ice cream van appear on site 2 evenings on the trot , which was a nice treat .

Wallace monument is approx 1-2 miles away and well worth a visit .

As for the Witches Craig , Me and Mrs Loaf will defo be back to this lovely site .
