It was our first time on this site. We arrived quite late, to be honest (4pm) - but there were still a couple of spaces left for us to pitch. I've not really got anything bad to say about the site - the following are more observations. The toilets were ok (although having a combined toilet and shower was novel) Entertainment in the complex was good, beer prices weren't over-expensive (£2.60 for a pint of carling). The ground was a little uneven, and quite gravelly in parts. The people on the site were largely scousers, and most were friendly, with families. The was a little bit of noise late on the Saturday night / Sunday morning (some bloke arguing with his g/f), but no noise, other than that. All in all, having discussed it, we'd definitely go back again - our little lad loved it - and that's the main thing.

Not brilliant I'm afraid. Security is very poor whilst we were there for 2 nights no one actually checked us in or out well didn't see us full stop, you can easily just arrive, pitch your tent and go. Hard to pitch tent with all sorts of stones under grass, toilets/showers dirty. Nearby pub didn't have much choice and the staff in there were just so miserable it was untrue.

Borth is a small unspoilt resort with Lovely scenery and good food (Victoria Inn carvery unbeatable value and quality). The site itself is within close proximity to two excellent beaches one within walking distance. The on site club is excellent for families with children being kept busy on the dance floor earlier on in the evening allowing parents to relax for a while. Other facilities on the site were disappointing, only 2 of the male showers worked these could be identified as they usually had a stone lying in the corner. This was left by other campers intent on recognising the working cubicle in future (the other showers were freezing). The field itself is wind swept (The wind farm near by should have been a clue) and the soil very sandy so take very large pegs. Beware troughs in the ground when pitching as when it rains these turn into small streams going right through your tent. Swimming is limited to certain hours of the day and is an additional charge but it is a lovely pool. This site must be great for caravans and motor homes but I feel not really suitable for tents. The pitches desperately needs sheltering from the wind and raising from the track level in height. Nearby campers and ourselves both suffered broken poles during our visit. If you are in a caravan and enjoy a good club in the evening you will have a great time. If you are in a tent I should spend your money more wisely on a site with better facilities.

Just spent a half-term week with Ty Mawr. The pitch was brilliant, the weather was out of this world and the teamstars were great. Now for the bad bits - the ladies toilets were filthy and had little toilet roll and soap, the mens were really clean apparently ! Go figure! The staff in reception really needed some customer service training! Forgetting about these problems, the site shop was really well stocked and very reasonable, the kids clubs were really entertaining and the entertainment was fab. We had a stunning week and will be going back next year.

Very good value for money in that we got 3 nights for £24. We were pitched on The Warren and the first night the rain was torrential so much so that when we stepped into the awning we were 3" deep in mud. We contacted reception who were very helpful and said we could move to another "drier" pitch which we did. The on-site entertainment and amenities are very good and the shop is well stocked but with a large supermarket and several towns nearby there is no problem stocking up. However, unlike the previous reviewer we found the toilets and showers grotty. The Gents particularly. Over the three days that we stayed the same rubbish, stains and dirt were never removed. Maybe the cleaner was on holiday! Also what bright spark decided that the waste water grid should be 2 feet off the ground.difficult to lift when the container is full. We did remark about the state of the showers/toilets in the survey supplied so hopefully other people (we certainly weren't the only ones complaining) did so too and there will be an improvement. Generally speaking though good value for money.

We went to ty mawr because we couldn't find anywhere else (with entertainment etc), last minute. The toilets were the portaloo type, the shower was right behind the toilets, not very inviting, at night we found only half of them had lightbulbs. We liked the pool with a waterslide. The entertainment was ok, but the 'humour' was juvenile and sometimes distasteful. A massive showbar a bit like a poor man's Butlins. However, although we are not snobs it was the overall type of guests that we experienced.

Well we have just come back from a 5 day break and can honestly say it was great. I can honestly say for us a family of 4 - 2 kids 5 and 7 camping on the camping field (non electric) it was fine. Yes the camping field was bumpy and the showers are behind the toilets but this did not spoil our holiday at all. The entertainment was fantastic, our kids loved Sparkys Krew Club, entertainment 3/4 times per day including meeting one of the crew for breakfast and a pantomime last night. The Park and the Pool were brilliant (yes only 2 showers worked) and another point the security was spot on. I took ours to the park and a 3 year old boy was alone (being abusive to other kids) I alerted the maintenance people close by who immediately got security round and got him back to his caravan. Also 2 young children were lost again security rallied around and found them promptly.
Our kids both cried when it was time to leave and cannot wait to go back. This is only out 5th camping site but we think its tops.

Cost of stay was only £66 for the week, lucky we booked before the HIgh weeks the site was mainly all we would have expected and realy good value for money. My only grip was the distance from the camping field to the toilts / shower black and to get fresh water was a major drawback. As was the toilet shower block itself. It is a portacabin type construction with a high step to get in, and showers are located behind the WC, meaning youhave to thread your way between the empty paper holders and empty roller towel cabinets so for anyone with a mobility or slightly overweight would find it a problem geting access. We used the superb toilets / showers in the warren. Pool is great for young and older campers. Yes I would go again but book into the warren next time worth the extra £3 a night.

Liked the idea that tents were on the main field and not stuck out in the middle of nowhere as with some sites.
Toilet / shower cleaning staff did a wonderful job - ok the floors tended to get a little muddy, which was not suprising as it rained everyday I was there - but I overcame this problem by keeping a towel just for the floor when I went for a shower. Would like the disabled shower to be used by parents with young children, as I found it a bit of a squash for myself and two young children.
