The site it's self is ok, possibly could do with a tweak here and there, but it does have everything a big site should and more. We pitched on the Warren and had plenty of room for our lads of 3+6 to run round safely. What put us off was some of the people there

Just arrived back from a 3 night stay on the camp site. When we arrived we were told to find our own spot to pitch. Being very busy it was difficult to find a spot to pitch and the site was cramped. We by no way had a 6m x 6m pitch and found that the toilet and shower block was very limited. No electric points in the toilets or showers. A total of 6 toilet and 6 showers for the entire two fields although they were kept clean! The amenities are very limited, a swimming pool with a tiny slide which isn't always open, an outdoor sports area that was a gathering point for teenagers! There is no restaurant or nice family pub
A noisy camp site which is also very windy and next to the main road! A ice cream van calls at the camping field twice a day even up to 10 at night? This park is ample for a very basic budget holiday if you are not looking for much. Our stay was to visit Conwy, Beddgelert and walk Snowdon so it was merely a place to lie our heads!

The kids loved this site due to the amusements and swimming pool but as a lover of peace and quiet it wasn't for me. We went on the Tesco offer which meant it was well priced, given the entertainment but we won't be revisiting.
The site itself was very clean but the showers in the Meadows only supply a trickle of icy cold water. The management are aware of this (apparently due to water pressure) and we were told we could repitch on The Warren where the showers worked but thought this was too much hassle so settled for the long walk instead!
Toilet block was immaculate and the washing up room provided endless hot water (3 sinks).
The main problem with the site was the noise - with bars/clubs on site the noise went on well into the night so we ended up exhausted.
Site is in an area well worth a visit (short drive to Conwy for a lovely day out) but don't go here if you like camping as a means to get away from it all. You won't!

Stayed for 10 days from last week of July, group was family with 2 6year old kids.
Reason choose a Park Resort was could pay by using Tesco Vouchers. So practically a free holiday. Would I pay for this site with my own money - no - this isn't the type of site we would normally choose too noisy and we found that the campers would just walk where they like. Right through your pitch which is not camping etiquette and we found extremely rude.
We were really amazed at how many spent their time on the site when there were so many places to go and see. We found North Wales not over commercialised and when you did pay to get into places it was reasonable.
Bad points - The pool is a little tired, the times you can use it are restricted to 10am to 12pm and 2pm to 5pm (but are kicked out at 4.45pm) This you only find out when you check in. We found it amazing how many women went in with their underwear underneath there swimsuits. Lockers cost £1 non returnable and found that many left there cloths in bags around the seating area.
The entertainment if you like bingo that is every night at 7pm till 8pm. 8pm to 10pm is in-house children’s entrainment which is mainly in-house disco and there in-house vocalist. From 10pm is there cabaret show time they did have guest entertainers 3-4 times, but other occasions was in-house, in the 10 days we were there but think this started to late for family entertainment. You could hear the entertainment in the campsite late into the night.
The Ice-cream van came round twice a night which got annoying from 5pm to 9.30pm.
When we arrived and check in we was told to pitch in the Warren area. You was just told to go and choose which ever pitch was free. There seemed to be no marking of pitches and you could pitch how you like. Too say that when we booked they are advertised has pitches of 6mx6m some campers took more than this; one group had a large family tent and had badminton net set up next to them. We don’t hear of anyone being told they had taken too much space and the campsite was pretty busy. We did see security drive around at least once a day.
Good points - the setting is marvellous where it is and has great potential but we don’t believe they have that focus. The scenery is lovely and enjoyed our visit to North Wales. For the camp site the shower block was cleaned twice a day in the ladies but the gents had bolts missing and shower curtains not in good repair on at least 2 of the showers.
The outside play area was great and looked pretty new. It had an adventure type area and an area for ball games. It was just a shame that some campers preferred to use next to their pitches, annoying other campers rather than using these areas.

This was our 2nd visit to Ty Mawr. We stayed for a week and pitched up in exactly the same spot as the month before. All of the facilities on site are perfect for any family, Clubhouse (great for adults and kids entertainment, although the Sparkys Krew shop is situated in the club means 'I want I want!') Diner in the arcade which serves what I'd call 'rubber burgers' only ate there the once! Swimming pool with 3 lifeguards, great park and basketball/football court/pitch. Launderette, chippy and pub on site too. Reception staff very friendly. Security patrolling quite often throughout the day. Toilets and showers cleaned regularly throughout the day too. Even ice cream van stops around the pitches during the afternoon!
The only slightly annoying aspect is the 'Own a static caravan' promo's. Posters everywhere, leaflets everywhere you go and people handing out flyers everywhere!
Will be going back sometime again (prob later in the year) but would like to try another Park Resorts site somewhere else. A big bonus was that it only cost £79 for 7 nights camping in early July, Haven wanted 3 times the price for the same facilities. All in all very good.

Chose this site for a change from the quieter, more scenic ones so the children could enjoy the facilities on site. Quite expensive - £48 per night for 2A & 2C plus dog, however entertainment, swimming, play area's etc included.
Outdoor sports area good - with separate sport areas. Pool okay - a bit tired and too much chlorine made the children's eyes sting. Shop was sufficient and prices as you would expect for a site shop. Reasonable choices.
We arrived late on Friday so The Warren was full. We were told to go to The Meadows. Found two pitches together, however soon came to realise our 'neighbours' were going to be lively that night. And the next. Lots of alcohol, some suspect handing over of 'items', and lots of shouting and noise till the early hours - at least 2am. Earplugs helped a little.
Still optimistic, headed for the showers on Saturday morning. First one I thought must be broke as it was freezing. So I got dressed and headed for the next one. Freezing. Got outside and bumped into a lady equally frustrated that the showers were freezing. She informed me that someone near her tried to have a shower at 10pm when it was empty - still freezing. I decided to ask at reception to see if there was a known problem. The receptionists facial expression didn't change much - found out eventually I wasn't the first that morning. She rang the maintenance guy and explained why I was there. He said over the radio 'yeh, so.What do you want me to do about it? I was flabergasted! She said, can you make them hotter? There was a pause, and he said 'no'. Followed by 'what do you want me to do? blow down the pipe?. She tried to say he was joking - only I wasn't really very amused. I asked for the manager, who reluctantly came out, didn't really say anything, but asked for the maint guy to come to reception, then he disappeared. Maint guy arrived, and I explained I didn't really expect my complaint to be ridiculed - he said well I was the fourth that day - and he's had about 150 so far this year, and he's sick of it! I was advised to use the showers in The Warren. They had apparently been done up and we were told they were very nice - plastic cladding around the wall to be precise. They were grubby, the floor was flooded and as there was four of us in there, we only got a dribble of water each - literally.
I was told that the water pressure was the problem and there was nothing they could do about it. (Install a pump maybe?). However we were still expected to pay the same as everyone else, and just accept that we could only have cold showers. I checked the others the next morning back in the meadows, they changed every minute or so from scalding hot to freezing cold - suppose a child had gone in there first? Their attitude was extremely disappointing and I said I would be complaining to head office, but they just shrugged their shoulders. They don't seem to bothered as there still seems to be plenty of people who seem happy (some of the reviews on this site show this).
Private owners area looked really nice.

Our party, was as usual, made up of Mum, Dad, our two boys aged 9 & 7 and our dog.
We have stayed at Ty Mawr many a time now, and although not our favourite site, it is handy being in North Wales and being close to our home in Manchester.
Check-in was straight forward and everything was in order for us to proceed and look for a pitch. There is no reserve pitches here.
As we wanted a change from the norm, we decided to pitch on the Warren side of the park (verses the Meadow field). My comments are purely based upon the Warren side.
We chose a pitch next to the wooden fence which backs onto the touring field of the site behind us and the only noise which caused us a problem all weekend was from this other park.
The ground was firm but not rock hard and was one of the better grounds I've pegged down in.
The site was busy the weekend that we stopped but the state of the touring field was not helped but the fact that some pitches had two vans on them thus creating a cramped scene.
Park staff had seen the vans so close and as nothing was said, can only assume that this must be allowed.
Due to a high wind, rubbish left next the bins had been blown round the park so for our stay it was a bit untidy but this was not the norm that I have seen at Ty Mawr.
The showers, toilets and pot wash on the Warren side are of a higher standard to that of the Meadow as The Warren block is housed in a brick built stature and while not being as clean as home, they are still much better than I have used elsewhere and were always very warm to hot.
If taking your little ones their to watch the shows, do check upon arrival what times the shows are on as a couple we met there had missed every single evening show as they were expecting Park Resorts to be like Haven's evening shows.
The staff we met were helpful in answering questions about their role etc, but had little understanding of the park in general nor in touring issues.
The pool is suitable for a quick splash around and has a nice water slide but after an hour you fell it time to get out.
While on site, we visited Llandudno and the Great Orme Tram and Llandudno pier. We would recommend the Great Orme Tram for any kid as both of ours loved it.
The North Wales coast line is almost alongside the park but a busy road and railway is in between the coastline and park so care need to be taken.
We will be going back? Yes, Ty Mawr is handy to us and it by far not the worst site to stay on, but that is if we can get on the Warren field. On the Meadow with its portakabins, its a different story.
Best regards and happy touring.

We stayed here for 10 days and found the site to be great. I had read the reviews before going and was quite worried about what we were going to find.
We had no problems at all. The site was lovely, pitch was huge and the other people were all friendly.
Showers were hot and free!
Will definitely be going back. Had a great holiday at a good price.

Camped here the first weekend of June with a friend who has had 2 previous bad experiences of camping and usually goes to Pontins, so was determined to show her what proper camping was like. So I chose this site as it has a club and other facilities.(we normally camp on small quite sites with no club on them)
When booking I was worried about the size of the pitch and the fact we needed 2 together so rang the site and was told they would put us on a good size pitch next to each other,by chance I had to ring the night before and double checked about the pitches while on the phone to be told that they weren't holding pitches it was a case of first come and first pitched. As I was worried about getting 2 together as the forecast was good I decided to set off early.
I got there at about 1.20pm thinking as you can't get on the pitches till 2pm I would be in plenty of time. On arrival the man in front was booking in an 8 tent party which got me a bit worried, I didn't need to be as I easily found 2 good size pitches next to each other. And started putting up the tents.
I was so glad I arrived early though because at about 4pm people were driving round and round trying to find spaces.
Yes it was busy and yes there were some big groups but I did feel safe enough to leave my cooking things in the gazebo knowing we would find them there when we got back.
On the first night there was a lad shouting at about 3am but that was it all weekend so it was quite for the amount of people there.
The staff were very helpful as my husband had left some of my sons medicine at home and the security guard gave me the number of his surgery so I could get the out of hours doctors.
We used the entertainment on the saturday night and it was just what we expected dancing, games etc. The kids really enjoyed it.
The kids had great fun on the park and it took us all our time to get them of it.
The toilets were cleaned regularly but did run out of toilet roll so taking your own is a good idea. The showers were small but the cleaner let us use the disabled one as there ware little ones with us which made it a lot easier as there was a lot more room in there.
Price wise we used the tesco offer buy one night get one free so it only cost £25 for the weekend, so it was good value for money.
All in all we had a really good weekend and so did my friend and it has shown her that camping is fun( her son didn't want to go home).
If you like something with a club on and don't mind a busy site this is a really good one. We would go back but I think its best if there is a few of you.

We returned Sunday after 6 nights, we booked last minute, for the pool and clubhouse for our two, boy 7, girl 6,
Good points;
The staff are helpful,
The children's play area is great and the footy courts
Contrary to the other review there are two touring areas the Warren, and the Meadows, we was in the warren, the pitches are very spacious
Now the bad points
No reserve pitching,
The showers have been plastic clad but they are poor but clean. The park has attracted a lot of undesirables, this can be seen by the activity of the site security, there are many hobby vans and commercial vehicles, and dogs tend to run free
The pool is in need of a refurb, and the Sparkey crew team leader, well as said before it was her own private show.
