Stunning place, campsite at the beach and very clean owner very friendly and helpful.
Owners son was a lovely young man chatted to us about life in the Outer Hebrides.
Hopefully will return one day and will definitely stay at Croft 2 Campsite again.

Lovely site: close to fabulous beach, small, very friendly.
The perfect “get away from it all” venue.
Very nice new toilet / shower block.
Overall, great experience!

Beautiful location, we got a warm welcome on arrival. None Pitch areas very untidy.

We arrived late, as that’s what time the ferry from Oban landed. Despite booking & paying a deposit. Site was full to bursting, we ended up off the main site on a area that sloped in 2 different ways, so blocks made it a little better, but still well off the level. Site had a lot of tents, & about a dozen MoHom/Caravans. There was 1 combined Shower/toilet. Queue was endless all evening, & same in the morning.
There was no respect for each other’s pitch space. Dogs, children running literally where they liked. We had a narrow 3ft strip of grass between us & a fence, kids (& an odd adult) walked down this strip, passed our door & looking in. Despite it being easier to go the opposite side of our Motorhome where there was a massive amount of space. Also there was noise till at least 11pm. Apart from collecting the fees, the Owner seemed to simply allow the site to run it’s self.
Will add that the Scenery was stunning, with white beaches. But sadly the sites chaos on how Motorhomes were allowed to park any way they wished, some parking at 90 decrees so taking up multiple spaces. Plus the total lack of decent facilities for £24. It really removed all the shine for us. Especially as the following night, at another site, It’s a world apart at £25.
We’ll definitely not return.

Resident cat constantly jumping on our tent through the night and using as a scratch post and burst the tent on the first day of our trip. Tent was brand new and inflatable so this was very distressing when you have kids to think of.
Owner was unsympathetic and took the 'oh well' approach. Did not try to help us at all, lucking the one shop on the island had a bike puncture repair kit that luckily held up the next night on Benbecula.
Really spoiled our experience of Barra.
Won't be back.

Croft No2 was a winner. We arrived at the end of October in terrible weather but Croft No2's location and nearby beach were so stunning that we forgot about that.
A lot of other places already shut for the winter and also Covid restrictions in place everywhere. Hamish the host was friendly and accommodating.
There are quite a few hook-ups with wood blocks to help level up and the nicest toilet block with hot electric shower and a washing machine - and one-way system set up for social distancing.
Also a large stable block provided some shelter from the wind

Croft no 2 is a lovely little site at the end of a quiet lane. Quite uneven ground but we managed to find a fairly flat spot. Angus was very informative in regards to local walks and wildlife. The beautiful beach is just across the road. There is only one toilet and shower and are in the same room, although they were clean and well maintained.

Very relaxed lovely views, Angus very helpful and friendly.
Great location as beach across the road from which you can walk all the way to the airport.
Facilities good and well organised for pandemic but might be stretched when busy.

Great location adjacent to the beach. Basic but everything you need and the toilet was extremely clean.
Angus was very friendly.
You have to see the plane land on the beach. Yes, the beach. However, there are no local stores and you need to be self sufficient.
Would visit again.
