Just about as far north as you can go on Barra out past the airport. It has a really nice position looking out towards Eriskay with a fine beach a few minutes away.
Small site being developed for Caravan Club CL status with the quality benefits that this brings. With the wild camping sites at the airport no longer available this is just the sort of low impact site the island needs.
Tap, two hook-ups, chemical disposal, views, warm welcome. What else do you need?
Try the Kisimul Cafe in Castlebay for an excellent fish curry.

Lovely site with a warm welcome on a very stormy day all the Ferries were cancelled to the Island.
The site is at the end of the road at the North East side of the Island it is partially sheltered from the Westerly gale. Not a big site but as only 2 units on the days we were there it was not a problem.
We hope to go back in better weather to enjoy the West coast although the weather was unseasonal.
Site situated at the very North of the Island but only five mins from the Ferry to South Uist.
A great visit

Since 2010 the Isle of Barra has placed restrictions on where campervans / motorhomes may camp.
Wild camping as such is really just restricted to a couple of areas and several crofts now offer pitching spaces.
We used this croft site after seeing details on the Barra website.
Its a lovely sheltered spot between the owners house and work sheds - a large field which has been mown and was well drained.
There was chem disposal on site, fresh water and ehu - for a cost for 2 adults of £11 per night. The owners were really friendly and helpful.
The site is at the very end of the Eogligarry road - drive past the campsite which you come to first and then onto to this one which has signs on the fence.
From the site there were lovely walks over the cliffs or around the bays to the island Airport.
There isnt a shop for miles so stock up before you go.
A fabulous islands who are making changes on where and when you can camp to try and keep it lovely for all. Suggest you check the island website if heading to Barra.
