Beautiful place to stay with plenty to do in the surrounding area. Clean and tidy showers and toilets. Nice outdoor pool. Very noisy though we were woken up at 9am every morning except Sunday by the extremely loud sit on mower and hedge cutters right outside out caravan. We did complain the lady said we weren't the only ones to complain and if we asked the gardener he would move on but he just came back each morning. We didn't hear it after 11am so it wasn't like he came for the whole day. I heard two other residents tell him off saying that their kids were still in bed. The fact that we couldn't sleep in on holiday which we had waited all year for ruined our stay. It's a shame as it was really nice. We stayed for 11 days

What a view, what a sunset. We had a perfect week weather wise and the site looked lovely, you are surrounded by flowering shrubs and trees. We only used one of the two toilet blocks, and they, along with the swimming pool, were kept spotlessly clean. The cafe was only open at weekends which was a shame, but the site has a lovely pub and sun patio and serves food until 10pm, and a small but well stocked shop. They also have an on-site caravan service workshop. It is terraced, we were on the top level, full serviced pitch. The site looked quite full but many of the pitches are seasonal, we still like to tour, but if ever we decided to have a seasonal pitch, I really can't think of a better spot to choose, the coastal position is stunning.
There is a coastal footpath from the site to Combe Martin (20 mins walk) a nice beach with pubs, cafes, and shops, the other direction takes you to the idyllic Watermouth harbour which the site overlooks, and Watermouth castle theme park. Ilfracombe is a 4 mile drive and has a beautiful harbour, lots of restaurants and a Tesco.
All we can say is this site ticks all the boxes for us.

Easy to find. Amazing coastal views. Dog friendly. Brilliant children's playground. Clean swimming pool. Pub. Family washrooms-sink, toilet and shower in one room. You need to provide your own soap though. Easy 2 mile walk to Combe Martin, where there is a beach, range of small shops, good fish and chips and ice cream parlour. Short drive to Ilfracombe which has a Tesco. Close to a beach, although 220 steps down to it.

Admittedly the Easter weekend was early this year, but we were happy to use a tent. Many friends thought we were mad, but we are used to camping in tents early and late at each end of the season.
Having stayed at Napps before, we were happy to go again.
However, Easter 2008 was rather windy! Napps is NOT sheltered at all. We asked to be moved from our original pitch before we put the tent up because we were worried that it would take off. The receptionist, although very helpful, said that it may be hard to move because there is no shelter. We found one pitch that was a bit more sheltered in the end and pitched the tent.
As the wind picked up we were quite frightened; and I have camped in some treacherous conditions before.
We ended up leaving early and only spending 1 night at Napps this time, which is a shame.
There are certainly much better sites about; however the showers are clean and they are hot; but there is no heating in the shower blocks. The staff are ok.
Really, a mixed review of this site. Even if you remove the weather situation.

Beautiful site but make sure you get a pitch big enough, we were put behind the fence. The terrace was deep with wheel ruts, it was raining hard when we arrived and we nearly burned our clutch out. The terraces are too narrow and no proper steps up them, several people fell down with all their washing up! The showers and toilets were lovely and clean but the Showers were FREEZEING COLD, at the end of the first week there were so many complaints they had to turn up the heat but again after another few days they were back to cold. Surrounding area is beautiful and Coombe Martin had a brilliant carnival also a raft race and wheel barrow race held over three days which was well worth going to, the best evening out on the holiday and all for free. Quite a few dog friendly beaches try a few out of the way small bays. Would not go back to this site as I hate cold showers but will definitely go back to the area.

I can only agree with others who query the 5 stars this site has. We were lucky to have pretty much perfect weather for the majority of our two week stay but were horrified when we arrived in torrential rain to see just how steep the site was and with the poor drainage and narrow roads, we were lucky to get the caravan up the incline to our pitch without an accident. In fact, it was so hairy that I took the kids out of the car and walked to the pitch leaving my other half to get the van up. It became a feature of the holiday smelling the burning clutches of other poor souls trying to find and then manoeuvre onto such tight pitches, so beware! In terms of the pitches, the touring pitches are too small and are lethal with small children as the terracing is so steep that they could easily fall down to the level below. Other than the play area there are no other areas for children to play safely and bikes are a no no - there just isn't the space.

Looks lovely on the website and in the brochure and it looks really nice when you're there with great views over the sea After reading all the reviews on this website all the complaints and gripes seemed to be some time ago and all the most recent reviews seemed to be good ones. We found all the problems listed in the older reviews still exist and more besides. When you arrive you turn off the main road and go quarter of a mile up a lane that is completely dark because it is totally covered in by trees. Then you hit a speed hump about halfway up without any warning signs, yellow paint on the road or any warning of any kind, not good at any time especially when towing a caravan at 15-20 mph. At the top of the lane which is up a steep hill the road bends very sharp to the right and gets very steep indeed this is where you have to stop because there is no arrivals area whatsoever and you've just joined the queue to get in on a single track road. Absolute chaos then follows because after you book in you have to negotiate some very tight bends on some very steep hills when they then send you round the back of reception and back up the hill toward the pitches. You then find youself stuck on a very steep hill because you're now facing the traffic trying to get into the site on the hill you've just come up and the road is only wide enough for one. I spent about 20 minutes shunting backwards and forwards trying to get round one single corner because of the other people trying to get in and the trees planted on the corners of already very narrow roads. This happened twice before I even got anywhere near the pitch. The second time we had to unhitch the caravan and manhandle it because the corners were so tight and the trees so close and ours isn't a huge twin axle van either. All you can smell in the air on a saturday afternoon is burning clutches and smoking tyres as people try to get going again after they have had to stop on the hills. I left a trail of rubber about 20 feet long with my diesel mondeo trying to get going up one of the hills after I had to stop. The amount of people doing santa pod style uphill starts was unbelievable, tyre smoke everywhere. One poor guy actually burnt his clutch out all together. We finished up having to manhandle the van onto the pitch as the terraces are so narrow and the pitches so small it wasn't possible to do it with the car. Not easy pushing a 1400kg loaded caravan up a grassy slope. Once you're actually pitched the issues dont stop. Cold showers - my wife complained after 2 days and she wasn't the only one. Frequently no toilet roll No soap provided in the toilets to wash your hands, not even any dispensers on the wall. No where to put your shampoo etc in the showers except on the floor. No mop to clean up when you're finished. Seven sinks in the dishwashing area and only one plug. The terraces on the site have steps between them which are not lit at night and some of them have hookup cables across the bottom to reach the mains points

On arrival after being given directions to our pitch, we were directed round by the pool area. This is very steep and also there is not much room and the bends are very tight if you have a large caravan. (I suggest if you have a front wheel drive vehicle and you have to stop on the hill you probably won't get going again) This happened to a vehicle just entering the site with help of other caravanners managed to get up the hill to the checking in point. The view is good even though there are some trees in the way in certain places. The pitches are very small and in some instances vans have to park length ways on the pitch and their awnings are nearly touching the road. The only one refuse collection point we saw is right at the bottom of the site by the toilet block, there is no privacy when emptying chemical toilet, which is attached to the shower/toilet block. On emptying our chemical toilet for the first time we noticed the water overspilt across the road by the previous user, there is no gully to prevent this considering people need to cross it to use the toilet and washing up facilities. On the plus side if you have difficulty parking your caravan help is at hand.

Well worth the visit, the toilets and shower blocks were cleaned 3 times a day, recycling bins provided, no rubbish on the site, very well kept. Shop was well stocked and the staff were friendly. cafe serves excellent food, play area was superb, walks were as described. The club is well sited and you do not hear the noise of the nightly entertainment. Beautiful view of the sea to wake up to every morning.
The down sides were the pitches were a little on the small side if you have a big unit, no where for the children to play near the pitch, and if you are at the top of the field it is a long walk to the on-site facilities Local area was very pleasant, not too commercialised Lynton and Lynmouth were well worth the visit, the beaches are not sand (but not pebbles) there are sandy beaches in woolacombe but get there early if the weather is nice. Local pub serves fantastic food.
Although we had rain for 2 days and it was a tad muddy this was the British weather not the fault of the site! I suggest wellies and a footprint groundsheet just in case! We will consider using again when we return to Devon
