My granddaughter and I stayed at this site as it is close to the scout centre at nine ashes, where other members of the scout group were staying under tents. My towing vehicle is a Luton van that is loaded with all that 32 scouts and 10 leaders might need, so rather than come home and then have to go back again, I choose to stay in the caravan. My granddaughter has the best of both and new friends on both sites. Excellent facilities with lovely little shop for what you leave behind. Ablutions spotless and plenty of wild rabbits to watch at dusk and dawn. Quiet and clean. All I need thank you

Well we decided to brave the bitter cold and went camping in our tent over the Easter break and thank goodness we decided to try St Mabyn Holiday Park, it enabled us to enjoy a great holiday even though it was so cold. Pretty easy to find and a very friendly welcome was offered when we arrived.
The toilets are amazing, we camped near the new block and it was like staying at the best hotel you could imagine, loads of free hot water, warm room and loads of space.
Our kids are 7 and 2 and the new play area next to the new toilet block ensured they had endless hours of entertainment, our son who is 7 also loved the indoor play room.
If you get the chance order some croissants and pain au chocolat they were divine.
The falcon 2 for 1 pub next to the Tescos in Wadebridge was very good for food and very family friendly, the camel trail to Padstow was super and makes a great day out. Large long stay carpark behind Aldi?Lidl can't remember which it was lol.
A great campsite, and very helpful friendly owners, would highly recommend especially in the warmer weather as there is an outdoor pool which I am sure is as good as the rest of the site. We will definitely be back.

We stayed in the disabled primrose bungalow it was ideal for a wheelchair bound person. Plenty of room in the bedrooms to transfer to bed and also the bathroom with a roll in bathroom was perfect.
The site is very well kept plenty of areas for children to play, good size out door swimming pool, well stocked shop, staff very helpful, good pub in the village nice food, wanted a nice quiet break this was just perfect, booked already for 2013.

We have just returned from 5 nights at this site, we were placed on our own on a flat pitch.
The site was empty - with no more turning up, which is such a shame for the site! (end of season)
The toilet block (new 1) is immaculate and are family orientated. The older block is still better than a lot of other sites we have stayed on. Water was always hot & free - there is a pool on site!
The site is 6 miles from Bodmin & 4 miles from Wadebridge. There is a large field dedicated for dog walking
I would & will be returning to this site again

We have just returned from a bank holiday stay at St. Mabyn and we were particularly impressed by the condition of the two vans we hired and competitive rates. Everything was clean and tidy as was the site itself.
Whilst we didn't use the various facilities ourselves others seemed to be making good use of them. The park is situated in a quiet location and would therefore make an ideal base for families with kids.
We will certainly consider using the site again.

This was our second year at this site. There is a new shower block which is great for families as each one contains a walk in shower, toilet & sink, as well as the old block which are both kept clean even with the bad weather we had. The whole site is well kept & is quiet at night. Great for the kids to go off to play & be safe, 2 nice play areas. Swimming pool is good, clean & heated. There is a large field to walk dogs in. Top marks to the owners you made us feel very welcome. Its an ideal base to explore Cornwall from. We will be back next year

Wanted a family site with no club but wanted pool and playparks and we couldn't have chosen better.
Lovely new building with 3 heated shower rooms. Even the showers in the old block are hot. They have thought of helpful extras including freezer block hire, fridge/freezer, microwave.
Shop had most things you may have forgotten and took orders for croissants and bread. Morrisons and Asda in Bodmin a few mies away.
Site felt safe and our children 9 and 7 enjoyed the freedom. Plenty to do in the surround area with lots of lovely beaches.

This is a wonderful site, & on flat ground, there's a swimming pool, shop, games room, and its totally Brilliant, we had booked the Snug, its made of wood and is lockable, you take all your camping equipment, except the tent, its warm & dry, and you don't get the damp feeling that you get in a tent, There's a Dog walking area its the biggest we've ever come across.
The Toilets and sinks and showers are Brilliant, the new toilet block is wonderful, I felt as if I was at home, there's a heated towel rail in the new shower rooms and the showers are FREE, no messing about here with change for a shower that lasts only 2 minutes, you can stay in for as long as you need.
The Disabled are also catered for here, with a full wet room, that is kitted out especially for them.
Also they are checked frequently, and toilet rolls NEVER run out ! there's plenty of space for children to play and a play ship area.
There is a washing up area, even the washing up bowls are there in each sink, we've never been on a site that is so organised to make your stay easy, there's also a large fridge freezer, where you can store your stuff, ( don't forget to label everything )
Also there's a Microwave and food preparation area. This site is near enough to visit lots of places, and have a full holiday, the people are polite and friendly, but just being on the site and knowing what they have provided to make US the Tourist feel comfortable, makes us want to return ASAP.

This was our first camping trip for 6 years and our first with kids (aged 5 and 3).
So I should start by saying I have little to compare this site to in recent years.
However I thought the site was excellent and far beyond our expectations.
It was very clean and well organised.
We had an electric hook up and the pitch size was ample (and flat) for our very large tent and estate car.
There are two playgrounds (one of which is in a large field where games can be played) which were great for our young kids to walk across to.
There's also a small indoor games room with a few games machines and pool table and books.
Shower/toilet block very clean and showers warm and free. I did not try to shower at peak times but I think there were only 4 showers which for the size of site I imagine can get stretched at times.
Site shop had the basics and a half decent bottle of white wine was £6 and a loaf of bread around £1. 50.
Pool was fairly warm though it could not make up for the unusually cold August week we had there so we only went in once.
The local village has a small pub which we ate at once and had a good meal with good portions for us and the kids.
Bodmin has all you need for supermarkets and I think the ASDA there has the cheapest petrol in the area if you need to fill up for the journey home.
We found it a great location if you were happy to be away from the coast but within easy reach of so many beaches and attractions.
We couldn't really fault the site though I guess more seasoned/experienced campers maybe more picky than us!

We spent six nights at St Mabyn. To find the site, leave Bodmin on the Wadebridge road (A389) and then take the B3266 fork on the right to Camelford. Ignore the first sign to St Mabyn (it will take you on narrow roads to the village, and the long was round to the site). Continue up the B3266 until you get to Longstone, then turn left at the crossroads. The site is on the right a little way up the lane.
The main field was for statics and they were located around the perimeter with a large open space in the middle. After we had booked in we were taken to the touring field which I felt looked less well cared for. Our pitch was on the end near to a redundant building that looked like it might have once been a toilet block.
The pitches were quite large, and the grass looked well kept. The hard standing was, to be honest, a but of a travesty (the all seemed basically the same). It was very rough stone and some of the stones were quite large – it looked like a cheap job.
This would have been OK had it just been for the caravan, but a small square of stones projected out onto the grass area which was where the awning was meant to go. This stone area was only big enough for a medium small porch awning so our full awning was half on the grass and half on the uneven stone. We removed some of the larger stones before putting up the awning.
We found the pitch itself disappointing. The pitch was electric and water hook up but the waste hose was not quite long enough to reach the drain so the man from the site loaned me some very large diameter waste hose which he joined to my hose with gaffer tape. It did the trick and he wasn’t too bothered about a little leak.
In spite of our disappointment with the pitch there were some pleasing points. The touring field had a security barrier, the toilet block was kept nice and clean and the swimming pool looked really nice. As far as I was concerned another plus was that no ball games were allowed on the touring field itself, but could be played elsewhere.
This seemed a sensible compromise. There was obviously a table tennis facility somewhere on site as, we frequently saw folk pass our pitch with table tennis bats and balls on the way, and the small on site shop sold the equipment. There was a good children’s playground with the usual equipment (swings etc). There is no bar/clubhouse on site.
Bodmin has a good variety of supermarkets, most of them on the opposite side of the town to the site, but it wasn’t a problem. The site is well positioned to visit places like Padstow, Port Isaac, Tintagel, Boscastle, and even Newquay is within easy reach.
To summarise, although the hard standings were disappointing, otherwise the site was generally quite good. We do have mixed feelings about this site and have certainly stayed on better sites in Cornwall for a lower tariff. Would we visit St Mabyn again? In all honesty, I think the jury is still out on that one.
