Stayed for 2 nights on this campsite in this lovely part of Cornwall. Booked at short notice but owners very accommodating.
There is quite a long single track road down to the site. Site very well kept, we had probably one of the nicest and most spacious pitches I have ever stayed on with electric hook up. Site has lots of pine trees and at night an owl was calling in the tree above our pitch. Generally very peaceful at night.
Showers, toilets and washing up facilities all very clean and plentiful. Great play areas and a sand pit for children.
There is a good, fairly level woodland walk down to a very nice beach which was dog friendly on one side and not too busy. The only downside was no pub or shop within walking distance but a small price to pay for such a great site.

We have just returned home after enjoying five days at this fantastic site. We give this site top marks for friendliness of the owner's, and their helpfulness. Cleanliness of the site, the facilities are excellent, even the dog could not wait for his morning walk around the lovely dog field. The pitches are of a great size with lovely hedges between pitches. We also enjoyed the perfect peace and tranquillity. We cannot recommend this site enough and would encourage friends and family to visit it. This site is excellently placed to visit all the places situated around the lizard and south west Cornwall. We shall definitely return.

We normally stay in our T25 VW campervan but as it was still in Winter storage (and the nights were still cold when we've got 2 children to consider!) we decided to spend our Easter break in one of Silver Sands newest 2015 3 bedroom static caravans (with bliss of all bliss central heating throughout!) The cost was very fair for the Mon-Fri break on one of our new favourite campsites!
Immaculately clean and modern (having only been used for a few weeks before) it was very well equipped with beautiful homely linen bed covers and big thick duvets(one of my pet hates is the bog standard 1990's bed linen normally provided in caravans)
Kell the owner offered fantastic customer service as I emailed at 11. 30pm asking for internal pics of the caravan (am a bit fussy about these things!) expecting a reply in the morning and she emailed me straight back! She was so friendly on our arrival and made us feel so welcome (without being over bearing) offering lots of helpful information on local eateries etc.
On entering the van we were welcomed by a lovely tea and coffee pack with the addition of two lovely chocolate eggs for the kids - how very thoughtful and a great start to our holiday!
The site is just perfect for kids wanting to get back to the art of just playing. No entertainment centre but two perfect parks - one for under 6's and one for under 14 year olds plus room for the odd frisby, ball game or hide and seek, oh and of course a great sized sand pit, all within visible distance of the majority of pitches, so can be rest assured they are playing safely with their new friends.
We enjoyed the 15-20min walk through the beautiful woodland to the perfectly quiet (but with two lovely cafes) Kennack Sands with stream running through it - great for dam building!
It is a short drive to The Lizard where we enjoyed the most fantastic fish and chips at The Smugglers Fish and Chip Shop (highly recommended)
We parked here on our walk to Kynance Cove - which is simply stunning (only a small donation requested for parking better than the £4. 00 at the National Trust car park even when it was an hour from closing!) Do be aware it is a hilly walk so not great for those with mobility issues but we managed it with a 7 and 2 year old (don't bother with the pram though!)
Back to the campsite I can't comment on the camping toilets but they had a separate family bathroom, laundry room and under cover dish wash area which all looked really clean.
Had a lovely drive via Porthleven (quay with some lovely little shops) to Penzance for a bit of shopping, then back via Marazion with it's fantastic long beach and St Michael's Mount should you wish to visit) also had a play in their beach play park for the kids)
Overall we just had the most perfect chilled out holiday not rushing from one place to another and allowing the kids plenty of time to play in the parks, we will definitely return with our campervan to this perfect little campsite.
Well done to Kell and Nick for getting right what so many campsite owners get so wrong!

One of the best sites we have visited in Cornwall because it is well kept and extremely peaceful. The final mile is along a narrow track but this only added to its charm - definitely not a site to go if you need lots of entertainment as it is away from it all and yet only a 15 minute walk to the beach. Great for dogs with its wonderful dog exercise area in the next field. The site is pretty and planted with lovely trees and shrubs making it a very pleasant spot indeed.
There are plenty of showers and toilets, all spotlessly clean although perhaps a bit dated. Never had to queue for the facilities. Excellent laundry room including ironing facilities and freezer in washing up area (no charge for ice blocks etc. ) Although we didn't have children with us, I noted that the playing space was way beyond anything we had encountered in Cornwall only a few years ago with our own children. There was plenty of space for games and an excellent playground with quality wooden play equipment plus seats around for adults to sit on while supervising their kids. There was also a play space for younger children in a separate area.
You do need a car to visit local villages: Cadgwith, Coverack, St Keverne, Lizard, Helston plus all places on the Helford river are within a half hours drive or less. We found the campsite a great central spot from which to visit favourite places - don't miss the beach and cliff walks of Kynance Cove.
All in all we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and would definitely use this site again to stay on the Lizard.

Returned to Sliver Sands for our third year but stayed for four weeks this time, managed to pitch early which was great, our children are four, seven and fourteen and they have all had a fantastic time with the facilities on site and made many friends who we be returning next year, people are very friendly and happy to help you if needed. The facilities clean and cleaned regularly, and we use the washing machine which is great with kids, we have regular BBQ and take an old folding BBQ which we use as fire pit, we also had a family of friendly badgers by our pitch which the kids loved to watch come out at night. , and star gazing you cant beat the Cornish nights for stars when cloud free. Tesco and sainsburys actually will deliver to site from helston but there his a shop at the parkdean sities or in st kervene with also a few nice pubs, the site also sell the basics if needed, kennack sands great for rock pools and coverack beach great when tide out, it's a great part of the country but the site and the owners kell, nick keep the site excellently run that we have no complaints have already booked to return to four half weeks next year on count down.

One of the review was right, never follow your satnav going to Silver Sand, , You will get there but you will find yourself in a very narrow road with high grass that you don't know if another car is coming. Anyway, Kel, one of the owners(didn't meet the husband) told us to follow St Keverne, passed those big turbines and satellites and you will see a sign going to Kennack then to silver sand.
Site is big and clean. Showers are clean but a bit dated. Internet is £12 for a week but if you are in tent, you will be lucky to have be online. Waste of money but hubby insisted! Grocery ie. Sainsbury's or tesco is 10 miles journey, no shops near the site.
A car is a must if you want to explore Cornwall. There is a beach nearby but we went to Poldhu which I think is around 10 miles away and better than Kennack beach. Personally, it is a good site but would not stay there again as places to visits are far distant away aside from going to Cadwight or Penzance which you would only spend a day visiting them.

We spent 3 nights in our MH at the end of June - the good points of this site far outweigh the couple of negatives, & then its only what suits us it may not be a negative for everyone. The final 1. 25 mile single track approach to the site is very hairy, many bends & very few passing places, glad not towing, & thankfully we don't move the MH during our stay on a site. Very large pitch that gives a degree of privacy & friendly, helpful owners. The walk to the beach for the dogs takes just over 15 mins and you can access the beach café at the other beach via a short walk over the dunes, the walk to the beach also brings you to the markers for the Southwest coast path, which we followed to go to Ruan Minor and Cadgwith. It is a quiet site & a bit out of the way, not many places within walking distance so if you stay for a week or so you would need a car to get about. The dog exercise area is great for letting your dogs have an off lead run, stick to the top if you have a dog with 'nose on, ears off' sort of recall as the bottom of it has access to fields/farmland further on. For us the main letdown was the showers etc which though basic were clean but no mop provided to clean after you shower, the water was warm in the showers but tepid in the washbasins and cold in the washing up area. The fixed shower heads in the ladies were very low, I had to do a limbo to get my head back when washing my hair, I used the family room after that as the shower area had an inset floor so gave me a few inches more headroom. This maybe picky to some people but this isn't a cheap site (£22 per night in mid season) and the shower facilities are better in the CC sites and cost less. Wifi is £6 for 48 hours & once again 3G is sporadic

We stayed at Silver Sands holiday park for half term and had a lovely stay. The owners are exactly what you'd hope for in a campsite. Effective, friendly and focussed on ensuring you a great stay, without being in your face all of the time.
We always find reviews helpful, so felt compelled to offer some for future visitors. The site is maintained to a very high standard and shower blocks, washing up facilities etc are always clean. Showers are free and were always perfect temperature. Despite the site being reasonably busy, there were never any queues, no mess and nothing lacking in any of these areas. A fridge is provided and there are two freezers for open use. We didn't use it but there was a washer / dryer facility also.
Shower blocks were less than 50 yards from our tent, as was an under 6's play park and a lovely big sandpit. In the adjacent field (very close) there was also a play park for older children.
We've stayed at lots of sites and, although we have a child ourself, we don't tend to go for the 'super sites' that have evening disco's / swimming pools etc. If you want round the clock entertainment, I'd stay elsewhere. That said, this site has everything a family could want but is equally suited to anyone wanting a quiet / short stay. Night time noise was not an issue on any of the nights we stayed there with most noise being nothing more than a quiet murmur after about 10pm.
They allow BBQs and small camp fires next to / near your own tent, but also have a fixed BBQ area in the summer camping field. Fires must be raised from the ground but that's entirely reasonable. If anything the owners miss a small opportunity in not hiring out fire baskets (as other sites that allow responsible fires do - but I guess that's a personal choice, so bring your own). There's an adjacent site very nearby and the owner of that sells small logs for a very reasonable sum. His site also has a small bar, that he invited us to visit, should the need occur!
We had family staying with us (in the adjacent pitch) for the second half of our week and the owners were very accommodating in placing them next to us for convenience.
We didn't do the beach walk, just not enough time in our week, but we did drive there on the way home one evening and it's nice. Excellent nearby pub, the Halzephron Inn is about 10 mins by car which serves fantastic (and good value) food and is near a nice beach. Kynance Cove is also worth a visit (About 30 mins away).
In summary - Great campsite, very nice owners and would recommend to anyone! Thanks to the owners for a great stay (and the use of the jump leads after leaving my car door open all morning on the day of departure!) A+++
PS: Also a great site to visit if you've read Julia Donaldson's 'Singing Mermaid' book which uses a place called SilverSands as it's location. Kids love being at the real place :-)

Great family campsite. First time camping with a 1 and 3 year old, play park and sandpit opposite our pitch (E) made for nice morning and evening activity for the kids. Big pitches and lovely clean facilities. Owners were very helpful and always reachable if needed. Close to some lovely beaches (bit tricky with buggy, but do-able!) lovely first experience, would recommend.

Another fantastic stay here at Silver Sands over the Easter break. We received a lovely warm welcome on arrival and were handed the key to our static van, funnily enough the same one we had last time we stayed and it was just as good as last time, very clean with everything we needed. The chocolate chicks were a lovely touch for our two children as was the welcome tea and coffee pack for us.
The new play area for the older children was an instant hit with our two, excellent idea. It was nice and safe for them to go to play and socialise with other kids without us ‘boring parents’ hanging around.
We didn’t need to use the other facilities but they looked very clean and well maintained.
The site itself is surrounded by a nature reserve and is so peaceful and quiet, sitting outside as night falls with a glass of Proper Job listening to the owls was bliss. A short walk across the fields and you are on the coastal path which boasts stunning walks to Cadgwith and Coverack.
There are plenty of places to eat out nearby. A small restaurant in Kuggar, just across the fields or a short drive away, The Top House Inn in the nearby Lizard village and the small café on Kennack sands, to name just a few.
Another successful holiday thanks to great weather and an excellent campsite.
