We stayed here at the beginning of September. The owners are very friendly and the site is a credit to them. Pitches are spacious and secluded. The dog field is an absolute bonus. The showers and toilets were clean. The washing up area was sheltered and clean with a freezer for ice blocks. The owners seem to be on duty at all times and if you have any queries will endeavour to answer them.
The walk to Kennack Sands is a bit overgrown and the approach road to the site could benefit from some maintenance.
An idyllic place.

Excellent campsite with big pitches, great facilities and hardworking and friendly owners, you can really tell the pride they have in their site by the way it is kept and managed and it makes for a great stay.
Great views and near some of the best coastline in Cornwall and possible to walk to a nearby beach from the site itself. Worth the long trip down to experience

Enjoyed a wonderful 10days at Silver Sands. We received a fantastic warm welcome from the owners upon arrival. They genuinely couldn't do enough to make your stay a happy one. Its a beautiful green site with the most spacious pitches I have ever seen. Toilet blocks were always clean and although the site was full, we never had to queue to use them. No complaints whatsoever and would definitely return. Thanks to them for a lovely holiday. Marc

Just returned from our third visit to this wonderful site. The moment you arrive you are greeted by the site owners who never stop working from morning to night and nothing is too much trouble.
The pitches are designated and are spacious and well apart from each other. The site amenities are located centrally within the campsite and are kept in immaculate condition throughout the day. With three showers and four toilets and a washroom in both male and female blocks(hairdryer in the ladies), we never had to wait for any of the amenities even though the site was full.
There is also a covered wash area and laundry with excellent facilities.
For the children there is a central play area with swings and a sandpit which is secure and safe.
The site is dog friendly (Dogs to be kept on leads), with an adjacent field for walking. The site also offers a kennelling service.
The site is central for walks to Kennack sands, Coverack and Cadgwith. There is a well signposted path down to Kennack sands beach which takes about twenty minutes and is dog friendly.
Helston is twenty minutes drive away and has a large Tesco and Sainsbury.
This site is idyllic and in our opinion the best we've ever stayed at!

We stayed here over the whitsun half term and it was one of my sons first proper camping holidays.
On arrival we were greeted with a very warm welcome and handed some information about the site and local area. They offer shopping on arrival also but this has to be done when you book, we opted to bring our own.
The site itself is extremely clean, tidy and well kept, the toilet facilities and washing up area was always well kept, however I did find that the water was not that hot in the sinks for washing up.
There is a stunning walk to the beach through some woodlands and the views were lovely.
The playground on site was okay but could have done with a bit more as my daughter got a little bored.
Lovely little gem of a site, and the couple were always wandering around walking their own dogs (one of which ran off once or twice that me and my daughter helped to catch) but they were a lovely couple, very friendly and couldn't do enough for you.

Wow! Our second visit to silversands, this time in our Bongo with awning. Just love the welcome we got from the owners. The park was quiet and we had the choice of pitch. Weather not so good, with high winds and very cold, but we chose a sheltered spot and survived the gusts. As we had visited the site before we knew what to expect. Spotlessly clean toilets, nice little family room, a great washing up area and a play area my little girl loves. Looking forward to our return in July.

What a gem of a site. Silver Sands is a small friendly, well maintained site. The owners are very friendly and greeted us will a warm welcome. We spent 1 week in one of the Superior 4 berth caravans. Everything was clean and well presented and the welcome pack of tea and coffee was greatly appreciated. We didn't need to use the site's facilities but they looked very clean. There is a good play area for children, a barbeque area and a dog walking area.
The small shop on the neighbouring caravan site sells the basics; the nearest supermarket is at Helston which is about 10 miles away.
The beach is a short 1km woodland walk through the Lizard Nature Reserve; unfortunately the weather had made this a muddy short walk and it could cause a few problems if you had any mobility issues as it quite uneven and hilly in places.
The site is well placed for some fantastic coastal walks. The village of Kuggar, which has a small bar and restaurant, is about ½ km across the fields and Cadgwith is about a 2 ½ miles along the coastal path.
All in all a really lovely site in beautiful surroundings run by lovely people, we would definitely recommend this site to anyone.

We have just spent 2 Great weeks at this campsite.
It is one of the Best we have ever been to in our many years of camping.
The site owners are some of the nicest people we have met, Always helpful, always got a smile for you, could never do enough for you.
The site is sheltered amongst the trees and large bushes, each pitch is a nice size, showers/toilets are always clean and tidy.
There is a shop in a near campsite, but expensive, and opens silly times.
The only down side was that at times 2 tumble dryers would of been better !
I would fully recommend this site & hope to go back soon !

We spent 4 nights at Silver Sands camping (29 yr old couple). Upon arrival the owners were friendly and approachable and seemed willing to help - but we didn't need anything. They provided us with a map etc of the local area.
Our pitch (#8 - non electric) was in the back field. The pitches are separated with hedges either side and are big enough for a tent and car - some tents were very large and fitted fine.
We looked out across to the local fields which was a lovely view. There is a summer camping field but it is slightly sloped and open to the elements - but it had views of the sea. Personally, we preferred where we were tucked away as unfortunately we had lots of wind and rain while we were there.
The facilities are good for camping - the toilets had 3 showers and 4/5 toilets (each male and female). There was also a hairdryer (£1) in the ladies. We never queued for either. There were also very few spiders etc ! Apparently the mens were slightly less clean but then it was the mens!
There is a family / baby changing room, washing up area with 4 sinks (and freezers to use) and a launderette. These were all very clean and close to all areas. If you have kids - there are lots of kids play areas and a large play field.
If you don't have kids - they don't get in the way too much and even though we were right next to the play field, the kids weren't loud. There is also an information hut with lots of leaflets. There was also a bbq area, picnic area and dog walking area.
The only thing that slightly let the site down for me was the walk to the beach - it is as described a 'a short 1km woodland walk through the Lizard Nature Reserve to the award winning beaches of Kennack Sands' however when its rained the walk is very very muddy and would be hilly for some. However, it would be a 5 min drive in the car and there are car parks down by the beach and 2 cafes.
In terms of the local area - we walked 6 miles south along the South West coastal path all the way to Lizard Point (3 hour hike). The path is actually a relatively easy walk - not too hilly etc.
The area is very picturesque with lots of pretty coves. Lizard Point, Church Cove, Mullion Cove (best to drive), Cadgwith and Kynance Cove (drive again) are all most sees. St Michaels Mount is also very good - only a 20 min drive. The site is a good location to see them all either by foot or by car.
Would definitely recommend the site and The Lizard itself for a peaceful get away, and we'd stay there again.

Just got back from 4 nights at this amazing site. Glorious weather greeted us as we arrived in cornwall and stayed with us for the duration of our short break.
The site is well laid out with a gravel road for access (the one way system works great). Tent pitches are a nice size, enough room for my Skandika Saturn 6 and my Mazda Bongo, with room for my 4yr old daughter to play.
Toilets are perhaps a little dated but Spotlessly clean and the showers were just right.
The huge play area just begged for frisbee and ball games. The children's play areas were great being divided into age groups (didn't stop my little one trying them all).
All in all a really lovely site in beautiful surroundings run by lovely people. Looking forward to returning again.
