Have just come back from a very relaxing week, weather was great so spent most of the time on Kennack sands beach which is a 7 minute car journey very clean and perfect for our young children. Well situated for some very beautiful parts of Cornwall, The Lizard, Helston, and really convenient for Flambards. site very secluded and sheltered with hedged pitches, very quiet evenings everybody very friendly and welcoming didn't want to leave, feel like we must go back as didn't have enough time to do everything we wanted.

Quiet site, friendly owners and lovely surroundings. We were there at the beginning of the season and the toilet blocks were rather grim. Lots of dead flies, spiders, moths etc and lots of cobwebs. I thought that it would be cleaned and swept at least at the beginning of the season. The pitches were nicely laid out, with hedges and shrubs between, offering privacy. No shop on site and nothing in the immediate vicinity so advisable to go well stocked. We enjoyed a lovely walk down to the beach and the surrounding area is lovely.

If you are looking for a peaceful remote campsite, then this is definatly the one for you. The pitches are well laid out, nice and flat with hedges and bushes separating each pitch. Giving plenty of privacy. We had an electrical hookup and had no problems with it. And as there are no local shops it was well worth it. Although you can use the shop at the local holiday park for basics. There is a lovely beach that is in walking distance, although it is a steep walk back to the campsite from the beach. The showers/toilets are ok, although they could do with being cleaned more often. We were there for a week and they were only cleaned twice! The laundry facilities were very limited there was a washing machine available which worked, but the tumble drier was a waste of time. Even though this is a lovely site with plenty of wildlife around, we had a robin and blackbird as daily visitors to our tent. II would defiantly visit this site again.

My family and I visited here after it being highly recommended by our friends who also stayed there at the same time (they'd stayed previous year). We had booked for 2 weeks, our friends for 1. We booked it specifically because it was a quiet site in rural location, within walking distance to the beach and suitable for all-age families. The site itself was nice, a bit smaller than expected, but the pitches were very nice, level and clean. Toilets OK - can't say they'd just been modernised as it says on the website though - One of the showers didn't work very well. Washing facilities OK. Freezer for ice blocks complete joke - size of standard household fridge, absolutely crammed full so could barely get one freezer block in - not ideal when trying to keep milk and ham etc cool in hot weather! Took 3 days to get blocks to freeze! I'd definitely recommend hook-up if only for that reason. Site owner - male, never spoke to us once at all to welcome us. On second evening we were outside friends tent having a drink - no music, no swearing and such like, having a chat and a laugh. We were asked to be quiet at 11pm! Which we did. The next night we were outside our tent and were again asked to be quiet, this time at 10pm! Our children were on the park at 10pm and were told to go back to their tent and go to bed! We did say that we thought they were being a bit unreasonable, but they didn't want to know. If the site requires complete silence at 10pm they should state this on the website. And we are decent people by the way! Also, we were told by other campers of a bad sickness and the other(!) bug which was there the week before we arrived. Owners never warned us of this. They put antibacterial stuff in loos which was good, but we felt they ought to have told us because of our children. Nearest shop requires a drive by car for your essentials - would have been great if owners sold even just bread and milk. All be it, we decided to up-sticks to a lovely site in Devon for our second week (where people would be chatting and laughing until about 12 and it wasn't a problem). The guy saw us leaving and never even said a word. We had paid for 2 weeks as well ! We really did choose this site because it was quiet, but I think their website should be more specific about its curfew times.

My Family and I spent a few days here in summer. The site is quite remote and is a good few miles from the nearest shops or facilities, if you don't mind driving then this is ok. The pitches themselves are individually screened, beautifully landscaped and of a large size. The toilet blocks are clean but seen very old fashioned and could do with renewing. The only other problem is the 5 amp power supply, this tripped out at the slightest provocation and to boil a kettle we had to turn off everything including the battery charger. All of the above said we had a nice stay, the Lizard area is one of outstanding rugged beauty and the beeches in the area are superb. The site is pretty and very relaxing and peaceful. The local town ( Helston) has plenty of shops and pubs and is only about 8 miles away. As nice as this site is we would not return as the facilities were too scant and we found the site a bit too remote.

This a lovely campsite! The owners are very friendly, the pitches are an excellent size and very private. Very safe for the children to play and you can easily keep an eye on them!
The free showers and toilets are kept very clean. The free washing up area is very handy and you can freeze your ice packs for free too! They are situated closely to the tent field and the carvan pitches.
The two beaches at Kennack sands are clean and set in beautiful surroundings. The walk from the campsite is lovely, but hard on the legs coming back up!
There are little village shops nearby and Tesco is only 10 minutes by car in Helston. The camp owners will supply local milk and bread products if you order before 6pm the evening before. The prices are reasonable too.
Well worth a visit and we will definitely be back next year! Excellent value for money!

May 2005 Think the owners may have changed since previous review as we could not believe how friendly and helpful they were!
A gorgeous little site which certainly was away from it all, great for totally relaxing. The site has the David Bellamy award and therefore has an abundance of shrubs and trees, and offers ample recycling facillites all round the site, something I haven't seen before!
The pitches are separated by trees and shrubs with an amazing amount of space. But all the pitches have gaps allowing you to easily walk around the site or take short cuts to the shower block!
Shower/toilet block is very clean and tidy with lovely free hot showers. Dish washing and laundry facillities are likewise, excellent.
Dog owners be aware that the East side of the beach is for dogs. The beach is beautiful, but there is quite a large hill to go up and down to get to the East side, not the little toddle from the west side I expected!; also the walk back from the beach is quite tiring as it is quite uphill (you don't notice that as you're going downhill!)
It's only about a ten minute drive to Helston, the nearest town, which has 2 major supermarkets and various takeaways etc. There is also an Organic farm shop about 5 minutes down the road from the site.
In summary; an excellent, friendly site with excellent facilites in totally relaxing surroundings.

September 2004 We were slightly disappointed with this site as owners were pretty unfriendly on arrival (they had lost our booking). Not the warm cornish welcome we were expecting which clouded our stay.
However the site is good, it is clean and nearby beach is really nice, about 10 mins walk. Good shower block.

August 2004 Lovely quiet , out of the way site. Clean and tidy toilets and free showers. We like how the individual good size pitches are seperated with hedgerows giving a degree of privecy. There are also large areas set aside as play areas for the kids with swings , slides and nets set up for Badminton ect. The large sand pit was very popular with the little kids , our grandson included. We had a very enjoyable week despite a bit of rain .
