Brilliant campsite and very well cared for by the owners. Brilliant with the different play areas for the children, out children loved it. Considering the weather we were surprised how clean the toilets stayed, the owner was lovely and even tracked us down to say goodbye which was a first for us! Was very nice to have freezers to leave ice packs (free) and the sowers were good, plenty of warm water. We worried that with only 3 showers we would be waiting but didn't have to once. All in all we loved it there, but had awful weather. We would without a doubt go back.

We stayed here over Easter. It was the first time we had used the caravan having only just bought it and were grateful we had chosen this site as our first caravan site. Nick the owner was absolutely fabulous from helping my husband guide our caravan into the generous sized pitch to lending us drainage and water hoses as we had a serviced pitch but had not bought these yet, being very wet behind the ears! Ours is a very long caravan and having an awning Nick wanted to make sure we made best use of the space available. The pitches were great, very spacious and flat. A nice one way road runs all the way through the camp so no problems there. There is a nice sized playing field for older children and a separate one for toddlers. The washing up facilities were good, very clean and plenty of hot water. Again showers clean with hot water although the family room was a little small and I found it difficult to sort the kids out without getting absolutely drenched myself. Nick was usually around if you needed him and the reception was manned all day. Lovely family and beautiful site. Nice walk down to Kennack sands although you needed transport to get anywhere else, the supermarket and nearest town being about 15 minutes away. We would definitely recommend this site to anyone.

Silver Sands is a small friendly site.

Most of the tent pitches are in a side field to the caravans. They are large pitches and offer some privacy with hedgerows and trees.

The site is very well maintained with the toilets and shower facilities cleaned on a regular basis. It has all of the facilities you could want e. G. Freezers, washing up area, washer/dryer.

The site owners are very friendly and accommodating, and on hand if needed.

The walk to the nearby beach is lovely, taking you through woodland before the beach. I am mild mobility problems but am still able to manage it. - Well worth a trip with your portable bbq!

We have visited this site 5 time now and are looking forward to our next visit towards the end of the season.

2 Words - Hidden Gem. We visited the site in April 2012, in a touring caravan, with our young son (2) and dog. Whilst the approach is a bit daunting down a narrow country lane, when we arrived we could not have been made to feel more welcome. The owner could not have been more helpful in assisting us with some remedial set up work. The pitch sizes were the most generous we have ever stayed at, and well maintained. The area felt safe for our young son to play out. Facilities were generally good. The shower block whilst basic was certainly kept clean, although the water pressure did vary a little. Would we go back? Absolutely. The park was well located to explore the local area. Excellent value for money. The separate play area for Toddlers was ideal, with plenty of open space for ball games etc for older children. The site also allows campfires providing they are raised off the ground.

We have just returned from a week at Silver Sands Holiday Park, deciding this year to opt for taking the car and having a static caravan so that we could explore the Lizard peninsula. What a gem this site is.

The owners couldn't have made us feel more welcome. Everything was so clean and well presented. We were upgraded to a new caravan due to not being fully booked after the school term had started. It was superb. Smelling so fresh and there was a welcome pack of tea and coffee which was greatly appreciated.

We didn't need to use the site's facilities but they looked very clean. There is a good play area for children and a barbeque area. Also a dog walking area.

The beach is a short 10 minute walk away, and there is plenty to do in the area. There are so many beautiful coves - Kynance, Cadgwith, Coverack, Mullion - all ideal for walking, as well as visits for children - Gweek seal sanctuary, Flambards and RNAS Culdrose - within easy reach.

However we felt we needed a car and would have found exploring the area difficult if we had gone in our old camper van, having discovered the buses ran only to Helston via various villages.

We will certainly recommend Silver Sands.

Well Once again we have just returned from eleven nights at this fantastic little campsite. This year we camped on the summer camping field.

The pitch was spacious and set around a large field. Toilet blocks were clean and we never had to wait to use any of the facilities.

But what impressed us most is the commitment the owners Kel, Nick and family put into making your stay a good one. They are always on hand to help, friendly and they really do care that you have a good stay.

To say we enjoyed is a understatement we have already booked the same pitch for next year and we are even trying to get back down in September.

If you are looking for a relaxing break in the best country side Cornwall has to offer this is the site for you.

We have just come back from a 1night stay at Silver Sands!

Pro's

Childrens park

Friendly owners

Lovely beaches, very near by

Facilities - very impressed!

Paper towels in in the toilet, I hate hand driers! ::-)

Cons

Only electric pitches were near the children's park!

Pitches were smaller than other campsites we have been to.

Toilets closed at 10. 30am for cleaning which was a crucial time for us and many others that had to queue for the 1 family bathroom!

Despite the cons we would definitely go back, but maybe would pay the extra for an electric hook up (even though we wouldn't use it) just so we can be in earshot of the kids in the park!

We have camped and hired static caravans at this beautiful site five times before but have not visited the site since 2008. We were looking forward to seeing how the new owners have improved the site and we were not disappointed!

The owners are so friendly, kind and greeted us will a very warm welcome. The caravan we hired, although not new, (as we booked to late for one of their new ones) was immaculately clean and smelled delightful. Linen is new and smells nice. The bed was very comfortable.

They have invested in a number of new vans, so it would be wise to book early if you want one.

For campers they have extended and covered the washing-up block and provided more freezers for chilling ice packs. It all looked so much better. The laundry has been re-done with new washing machines and dryers and looks smart. Toilets were very clean.

The entire park looks clean and tidier all round. It has been carefully pruned and the road has been properly gravelled, which would help in wet weather. There is a little shop open two hours in the morning and afternoon, for the basics which is very handy.

The field has a new net for badminton.

Well done Kell and Neil! It is obvious you have worked very hard to make this already beautiful site, so much better. We would not hesitate to book again. For those of you who have not visited the site, it is a little gem, in a gorgeous location and very safe for children.

We stayed here at the very end of August. The site was probably around 80% full. We were originally allocated a pitch prior to booking in, but were glad that we were moved on arrival as our location would have been right next to the children's play area which dominates a central position in the main touring section.

Overall the site is nicely laid out and the bushes that divide the pitches do provide a little more privacy as well as allowing clear division between and a landscaping element.

Our only gripe was the shower block which is a little dated and is in major need of investment. A corrugated plastic roof, poorly fixed fittings, plywood walls and bad plumbing do not lend themselves well to a site of this type.

When the ladies and gents showers are fully occupied the flow turns to a dribble! In addition, some mops to clean out the shower and cloths to wipe the sink area would be appreciated.

The communal dishwahing area could benefit from slightly hotter water so take your kettle!

 What a lovely campsite!

We spent our holiday here and loved every minute.

The owners (Kell and her partner) are very friendly and helpful too.

Each pitch is separated by trees and mature shrubs, so you're very well sheltered from the elements, and have added privacy. We had wet and windy weather and while the tents on the neighbouring sites were getting battered, ours was barely moving.

The facilities are perfect, with 2 freezers, 4 washing up sinks, a launderette, showers, playgrounds and playing field. No shop on site, but a kiosk door with the basics. Nearest pub (sky TV, Pizza menu) 10 minutes walk (Kuggar), beach is 10 minutes away too.

We enjoyed 9 nights sat by the campfire (allowed if raised off the ground) in the lovely cornish countryside.

Great butchers in Helston (Olivers), better than the one in Lizard. Fishmongers in Porthleven not recommended though.

Bookings advisable. We'll definitely return.
