We had a good time because we were with friends on a birthday weekend. The site was uneven, the showers were weak though generally clean. The pond is stagnant and the woods small. No play area and no proper dog walk! The warden was too friendly to the point of intrusive and creepy! There were no signs to say where you could walk or play and residents got annoyed if you trespassed! Like I said the weekend was brilliant because it was a special occasion but I would never book for just us as a family!

My husband and I stayed at this site for three nights, everything was exactly as detailed. The staff were very nice polite helpful and friendly. The amenities were spotless and very well lit at night, the warden was very helpful and always on hand to help if you needed anything he also kept track of the weather when he knew we were due to depart. This was mine and my husbands first trip in our caravan and were looking for a place not a million miles away but somewhere we could look at going weekends, but having two small dogs we were limited, but I am pleased to say we have now definitely found a place we want to return to again and again.

Lovely quiet site, the toilets were nice and clean and there was plenty of hot water for showers, the pot washing area had plenty of hot water too. There was a free hairdryer and sockets for other appliances next to it (wish I had known would have taken my hair straighteners with me). Went for a walk in the woods which ok was quite small but we found a tree with a rope swing in there and had a good laugh playing on it (like big kids). All in all a good holiday stayed 11 nights and visited some great places. Oh and the showers were very simple to master, some people just like to have a good moan.

Had a lovely, time first time in a caravan the toilets are very clean and tidy. The site warden was very helpful, he even had time to help me sort out my awning and always was cheerful,
The site was just the ticket if you are looking just to chill out and relax or need a base for visiting surrounding area.
Definitely will be going back again in the future, there is 2 nice villages nearby tenterden and headcorn which are worth a visit,
There is a vine yard nearby which you can walk around the vines and taste some samples in the shop, and if you like pitch and putt there is a nice little course down the same lane as the vine yard.

I have to agree with the poor reviews so far, as we had enormous difficulty here at this site.
Having booked 4 months in advance and with email proof we were practically turned away at 9 pm on our pre booked date.
Also the facilities are well in need of an upgrade, its just on huge field with facilities in the middle of the static caravans.
It look fantastic as you drive in but beware its not in our opinion.
The warden was as helpful as he could be but even he was lost for words on the disorganisation on the booking. We stayed one night of 5 then left.

My husband and I read the reviews but didn't want to just take 'hear-say' so went along for the weekend.
The toilets where fine, 10 toilets and 6 showers always open, a place to wash-up and fill up drinking bags.
The warden walked in during the morning whilst some ladies were having a shower. Massive NO NO. Over friendly at times!
The ground was very uneven!. The lake was just a pond it did make us giggle considering they said a nice lake. Try dirty little pond. A little lad went to go fishing looked at it then walked away ha ha ha.
The 'woods' was nothing but a tiny dried out littered piece of woodland which had no foot path and only took 5mins to walk through.
The electric hook up everyone on the campsite was moaning about as it kept on going, we spoke to other people and they had said it kept on going last year so they left.
We stayed one night then left, we just couldn't do two night there, big upset all in all.
Wouldn't recommend, be warned its just a small field.

I stayed at this site for 5 nights during July. A very good large flat pitch which I was able to freely choose thanks to a very helpful warden. Prices are reasonable. Great toilet facilities; showers always hot, pot washing excellent. The site is also fairly close to most popular shops and good pubs. Coast close by along with numerous other attractions. The site is used by many European tourists which makes for interesting conversations when pot washing…. ! I will be returning for more of the same soon!

We went to this site just for the 1 night for my husbands birthday on a beautiful Saturday 2nd July, we were able to arrive what ever time we liked in the morning and leave what ever time we liked the following day. The price was very reasonable. (£18. 50 for 2 adults and 2 kids. 8 & 4yrs)
The site was was well laid out and the shower and toilet block was close to the tents.
There was never a queue for a shower and there was always plenty of free hot water, there was even a hair dyer!
There is no play park as such but we didn't find it a problem as all the children joined in each others games and there was plenty of room for riding their bikes around, and some woods to explore.
The warden is a very laid back and relaxed kind of bloke, very friendly.
If I had to find something to complain about it would have to be the showers, they are like swimming pool showers, you need to keep the button pressed in to get constant water otherwise it only lasts a matter of seconds. But it wasn't too bad!
All in all, I would recommend this site and would happily return.

Went for 4 night short break. It was just the ticket, peace, quite and countryside. Toilets and showers really clean. The site warden Tony was so friendly and helpful. If its peace your looking for, then you can't fault this campsite. Will certainly be returning.
Very close to Tenterden, which is a lovely little town. Lots of nice places to eat,if you don't fancy cooking while camping.

Use to enjoy coming here and have been doing so for 10 15 years. Nice and close to home so idea just for a quick break away with out the drive for us.
Very disappointed as over the years they have built up the fixed caravans site and cottages with no regard for the weekend camper.
Also a new feature for us over last 2 years was the warden. Friendly enough but you felt as though you were being checked up all the time.
We last went in July and found a lot of the large field was a dumping ground for rubble and hardfill from the building sites and although taped off with hi vis netting it was quite a eye sore.
It is a shame the site is now like this and my wife and I will not use again, a pity as there is so much to do in the local area.
