We have now used this site several times and will use it again. The first time we went with 7 other families (separate tents.) this equated to 14 adults and 13 children. The second time just two tents.
The site is quiet and well run. The toilets are spotless and cleaned regularly. The field is like a lawn and the wardens are helpful and friendly. With no play area the children spent time exploring the woods and pond ( in between rounders and cricket!). With two tarzan swings found they were very happy. There was a noisy group of lads one night but the wardens dealt with it and they were asked to leave site the next day. A great site.

Beautiful site. Touring field was flat and spacious. Toilet block was clean and of a very high standard. We did not use electric hook up but that area did seem a bit crowded so I would advise booking if you want electric hook up. There are picnic tables available but you need to get there early if you want one. Shop sells essentials like camping gas, milk and cold beer. Walk into Biddenden is about 40 minutes but the roads do not have paths and are quite dangerous. Local Vineyard is about 40 minute walk along a public footpath, wear sensible shoes because it is a bit off road. There is a bus stop just outside the site. £4.30 return to Tenterton where there are a couple of supermarkets (Tesco and Waitrouse), historic railway site which is great for kids and is free to have a look around, Red Lion in Biddenden is a nice boozer but the food is a bit pricey. I will definitely return here. Kids play area is no longer on site.

We have just gotten back from a 5 night stay, we had an electric hook up pitch. The sight was very nice and quiet just how we like it. It's location was excellent, we found it very central to be able to go exploring. There was a few supermarkets in the near by town of tenterden a waitross and tesco. As it wasn't the main holiday season but there was always a number of people on sight, plus a fair bit of rain, yet the toilets were always clean and rubbish bins emptied daily but not on weekends. Staff were very nice and helpful. We loved our visit our only slight problem was that it takes ages for the hot water to get thorough to the sink tapes for a wash, unfortunately I have bad wrist muscles so not good for me.

Been coming here for several years now, seen pretty much every weather imaginable, in groups of 2 to 20. A summer doesn't feel right without a stay here for at least a weekend. They say you don't forget your first campsite. How to describe it, it's a big field, plenty of room to set up how you want, great toilet block and washing up facilities, these have been used as a bench mark for every other site we've stayed at. Staff here a very friendly. Always chatty and helpful. The shop is small, but has the essentials you need. If you fancy a cream-tea, Headcorn's the place to go, took us two years to work out why the girls disappeared on a Saturday morning! Tenterden is your best bet for a large supermarket and the chip shop on the way into the town on the right is pretty good. You can get back to the site with the chips still hot.The Smardsen Bell is a grand pub for a dinner off site - recommended by the lady at reception and well worth the drive. As for the playground, it was in the dip but had to go.

A really nice campsite with lots of space and well designed clean facilities. We camped the weekend after the bank holiday, which had apparently been very busy and very wet! Lots of room to find your own pitch, and plenty of space for ballgames / running around / cycling. Good site shop, friendly staff, and lovely washing up / toilet / shower facilities with hot water at all times. I think the children's play area has been removed - the big dip near the toilet block? - because we couldn't find it. We stayed here last August with the in-laws and their caravan, so had to use an EHU pitch. These were in the middle of the field and very close together, with no hedge or screening to separate them. However for non ehu camping where you make your own entertainment, and like it quiet after 11pm I would really recommend this site.

Stayed here for the weekend and found it really pleasant. The washing and cleaning facilities were great, clean and tidy and loads of them. The reception stocks the basics and has a load of info on the surrounding area. Would definitely return as it is in such a beautiful area and loads of room to pitch.

We stayed at Woodlands over a very wet bank holiday. There were a lot of hook ups, but not hard standing. The tented area was find a position and pitch. There area is so big that you could pitch 4/5 tents in a circle, as a few did. The site is a very large open green field with a big bunker in the middle which the kids (4 & 7) loved. Apparently there is a play area, but we never saw it & I understand that it is concreted, so we probably wouldn't have let our children play on it any way! The toilets were lovely, clean, warm and excellent facilities. The warden was a lovely German lady with her partner and they kept the facilities immaculate. The site shop/reception was well stocked. We hope to return in the summer. The area is beautiful, Garden of Kent. Rye & camber 35-40 mins away.

Camped here for 2 nights. Since the camping season had barely started, had the choice of pitches in the large field near the toilets but without electric hook-up. The toilets are very clean and plenty of showers but this might be different in the high season. The staff are friendly and pleasant without being "in-your-face". For me, the best thing about this site is its location with lovely surrounding villages (eg, Biddenden, Tenterden) within a few miles and Romney Marsh, Dungeness, Rye within easy driving distance. The camp shop sells all the basics you would need but anything special will require a trip to a supermarket which (thankfully!) are not too close so buy all your food, wine, BBQ stuff on the way down. Other reviewers suggest taking bikes which is a good idea. If you want to go out for a meal, recommend the Ye Maydes restaurant in Biddenden - not cheap, but very good food and excellent service - just remember the 1.5 mile trek back to the camp-site if you leave the car behind.

Stayed here twice in 2005.
Having purchased our first tent we wanted to go somewhere fairly close to where we lived to have our maiden voyage/argument about how to put the tent up.
A really nice quiet site, flat with plenty of space to pitch. Most people tend to pitch to the outside of the field. Toilets and shower block were clean - the only thing we noticed was the grass cuttings being walked in, but these were soon swept away to leave the area sparkling again. The owners were really relaxed and friendly. Plenty of places to visit around the campsite - a walk to biddenden, a drive to tenderden - love the shops! And, cider and wine from the local vineyards enjoyed back at the campsite in front of a roaring bar-b-que. This is Kent at its best.

A very nice camping site, centrally located in one of the most beautiful areas of Kent.
The facilities are entirely adequate, clean and fairly new, the site is a large, flat field with a big choice of good pitches and the ducks in the two ponds are charming! There is a small shop on site, selling some essentials, although you need to go into Tenterden for things like fresh bread in the mornings - but it's only a short drive, so this is not really a problem.
Equally importantly, the site warden makes you feel very welcome indeed and is always up for a nice little chat. On top of that, he expertly makes sure that everything is as it should be - this is a very well-run site indeed. Highly recommendable to everyone.
