Very Clean site, with loads of space for kids and adults. Showers and toilets very clean and tidy, with excellent washing up and other facilities availabe in the main block - Small shop at reception sells the basics, and shops not far away. The friendly site warden drives a Land Rover - so that get my vote. All in all a very well run site - Any negatives? - Don't think there are many fish in the ponds. But hey I'm no expert. Well worth a visit.

We have just spent two nights at this lovely campsite. Initially, I was put off by their inability to return either my email request to book or a phone message I left (just wanted to check they weren't too busy as it was the start of the school hols.) Eventually I got hold of someone - after nearly giving up - and was told that they have never yet had to turn anyone away! So, we set off (straight out of school and into the car!) on a glorious Friday evening. It was easy to find a space to pitch, and easy to pitch - fairly level ground and not very stony. The site is very peaceful and with the majority of tents/vans pitching round the edge of the field children could enjoy the freedom to run around! My husband and daughter went fishing in the lakes (which are rather like ponds!) but alot of fish were evident. Unfortunately the water levels were very low and I think the fish were concentrating on breathing rather than being caught! Still, they were happy over there for several hours. We also spent the evening with friends on the 'riverbank' entertained by the small mice/voles (a hot topic of discussion)! All the people on this site were lovely folks (campers/staff) included. The rubbish was regularly collected and the toilets were acceptable - but as ever when you have a large amount of people using them - could be better. My one complaint would be the showers - they were simply too hot. However, the vineyard does produce some lovely ciders/wines and we would absolutely not hesitate to return to this site. Oh and the 'bomb crater' in the middle of the site is, in my opinion a bonus for kids! My daughter spent ages in it looking for and catching (carefully) butterflies and grasshoppers! I can't comment on things to do around the area - as we did nothing! However, the site office had lots of leaflets. For food - we used Sainsburys in Headcorn - turn right out of the site - approx 5-6 miles.

August 2005 We have just spent 8 glorious days here. This is the 3rd visit over 6 years and the place is just as clean and relaxing as when we first went there. We have a trailer tent and use an electric hookup. There is plenty of space between tents for our car. I have only had to queue once for a shower, and then only for a few minutes, and they are always hot and very clean. A nicely laid out cubicle so that your clothes stay dry and you have a place to sit. The field is so big that children do not disturbe you. Although they have to make their own amusement, all the children are happy. Take bikes if you can. The local village shops are very good, and there are several supermarkets and a leisure centre within a short drive. Also lovely walks for the whole family. This is a site for the retired (like us) or the family that need a good rest.

July 2005 Visited this campsite this weekend. £32 for tent car 2 adults and 2 children (didnt charge for the toddler)
Big flat site, electric hookups at the top of the site.
Loads of spaces and laods of room for the kids to play they had some benches etc.
Toilets good standard though we did notice they were only cleaned until friday and didnt seem to be cleaned all weekend.
Ladies showers always available but my husband said that the mens didnt have as many shower cubicles as the womens.
Could have done with more disnwashing sinks and the water pressure of the taps was non existent one day.
Shop on site
All in all a pretty good site and we would take our three kids there again

June 2005 Visited during half-term - end of May, beginning of June . Site very empty so plenty of places to pitch!
Swings gone (health and safety issue), big crater (as noted elsewhere) and two ponds very muddy - not ideal for paddling. But four kinds (ages 6-11) managed to amuse themselves as usual, making some new friends, playing frisbee/football etc on flat grass, and rummaging in the woods (enough wood for a small fire - not sure if its allowed!) Toilets and washing up facilities very good.

June 2005 Spent 3 nights at this site, we found it to be really nice. Facilities were good, toilets/showers etc were well maintained and kept clean. £10 per night for tent car and two adults. Although very wet weather the site seemed well drained as did not become too muddy. Site was much bigger than looks from website. We really enjoyed the stay and would go back. The only minor grumble was that their website doesnt have a price list, and they did not respond to the email query.

May 2005 Just returned with my wife and 2 primary-aged kids from 4 nights tenting over Whitsun Bank holiday and was a little disappointed with the site. We were camping with another family and had phoned to book 2 pitches but were told that there would be plenty of space so booking was unneccessary. All started well with nice reception staff and lots of space (we arrived at 4.30 on friday). Site soon filled up though and if our friends had arrived any later than they did (5.30) we could not have pitched together. The children's play area is no longer there as it was 'unsafe', so it was as well that the kids were able to ride their bikes around the nice, fairly flat field. The toilets/showers were not 'Loo Of The Year' standard as the floor was constantly awash and covered in grass cuttings and much, much worse. Parents with children who are not toilet trained really should go with them to the toilet...sympathy here for the poor guy who tried to clean them once a day. The queues in the morning were evidence that this one block could not cope when the site was full. The water in the two ponds was stagnant and no evidence of fish was to be found though, granted, we are no experts. The laid back atmosphere is nice, but maybe some low-key enforcement of the noise curfew would deter the small number of inconsiderates who think it is a good idea to sing blues songs at around midnight on a family camp site. Woodands Park is in a lovely location and I'm sure, with a few minor tweeks, would be worth a second visit, but not for us at it stands.

March 2005 Stayed here for one night Easter 05 to try out our new tent. Nice site - big field with trees around the edge; what we guess is a bomb crater in the middle! Kids play area not in evidence - either removed for winter or gone altogether now. However loads of room to play games/football/frisbee. Pitch was flat and ground took pegs easily. Excellent loo block in centre of top field, warm and spotless. Washing up facilities good as was rubbish disposal. Good value too at £20 for tent, two cars and 4 adults.

May 2004 Simple, clean, spacious, relaxed... we really love this site for having good, basic facilities and no frills. We were free to pitch anywhere and found plenty of room. I imagine that even when full, there would be ample space between tents and still space to kick a football around. The modern toilet, shower block in the middle of the field is outstandingly clean and more than adequate for the site's needs. I recommend a visit to the local vineyard to buy some of their 'spiced' cider - it certainly helped us to keep warm as the cold night set in!

30 May 2004 We've visited this site several times. It's a lovely place with a really relaxed laid back atmosphere. The modern shower, toilet block is very good, although disapointingly on our last visit when the site was busy (May Bank Holiday), it really needed more than the obligatory once a day clean as it was rather grubby and the loos we're blocked. There's plenty of places to visit all within a 10 or 15 minute drive away, but do go to the Biddenden vineyard and try their Cider..... got very carried away drinking that back on site!
