Just returned from a one nighter here en route to Portsmouth. Lovely little site. Very quiet and peaceful site and area. Easy to find (although out of the way), but still convenient for Motorway network makes it an ideal stopover site. Facilities clean and adequate, management most helpful. Well stocked on-site shop. Pitches level and well spaced out. Would definitely stay here again.

A Lovely quiet little site. We did just 1 night's stop over on our way down to the south coast. A short hop off the motorway, this was ideal.
We booked at short notice and the owner couldn't have more helpful. Facilities were basic but clean and sufficient.
We took a walk to the local pub and discovered the neighbouring military base which was rather spooky in the dusk and fuelled our teenager's imaginations! Thankfully, the landlady of the pub came to our rescue after dark and offered us a lift home.
A great site for a fly-by.

Lovely quiet little site. Lovely field and mown grass. Owner was very helpful when we needed to borrow a ladder to make a repair to our caravan roof. Other residents were all very nice. Shower block clean and functional. Shop and pub near by. Would definitely recommend. The owners let us have a late check out without charge which was much appreciated. Near to Bicester so handy for shops etc. There's a shop just on the edge of the site which seemed to sell most things- even veggie sausages!

Visited here primarily as a base to visit Waddesdon Manor & Oxford, and this was the best to accommodate that.
By far the best value site we saw in the area, and had all the facilities we needed. Shower block is possibly dated now, but functional.
Pitches were spacious, and plenty of space for the children to run around. They had lots of fun in the small stream that runs alongside the site as well.
No play facilities on site, but a playground was located nearby, as was a small local shop (which seemed to supply everything we needed). Generally, I don't think this was a site visited by too many families and some people had come there for a quiet time without too much playing sounds.

Have just returned from spending 5 days here. What a lovely quiet site the owner does all he can to help make your stay pleasant. We had ehu and was in a nice field not overcrowded unlike some there was plenty of space, The shower block is spotless and clean there is small shop for basic needs but tesco in bicester is not that far away. We had a meal at the Barley Mow and I would really recommend you go there the food is brilliant as is the service. If your looking for peace and quiet I would recommend this site to you. We will definitely be going back.

We went here for a quiet weekend and found our ideal site. The spare camping field was very quiet, and sheltered from any wind with the fishing pond at the back fenced off from children. The owners were lovely and very helpful with ideas and routes for walking. Toilet block was very clean and seemed to be unused by the other campers. The Grand Prix was on at Silverstone so we had some helicopters overhead in the morning and evening, made an interesting topic of conversation and weren't too loud, you were just aware they were there. Lovely area and will be returning.

Wow. Stayed here for 3 nights. I had checked it out on here before coming. The owners are so nice.
The site itself is clean and tidy, the shower block is clean, yes it's old but eh this is a caravan site not a 5 star hotel.
There is a pub down the road, bike ride or walking. Bicester outlet village is 10 min drive.
There are some guys that stay in their vans and work but the owners are so good at keeping the site clean, tidy and welcoming.
We will be back.

We have just come back from a two night stay at heyford leys camping site. What a great place! A much needed break from day to day life for us. The owners are such lovely and down to earth people, they take the time to talk to You and make you feel relax and at home. The facilities are extremely clean and the area is very well looked after with well cut grass and many walnut trees. They are very dog friendly and made us and our dog (old time bull dog) very welcome. The area is very quite with many country side walks by the canals and some great pubs which are also dog friendly. Every one in the area is friendly and happy to stop and chat. Thanks to the owner my partner took me to the most amazing tea room! We will be definitely going back tempted to book up again now

We stopped at Heyford Leys for just one night on our way to Norfolk. It was easy to get to from the M40, although our satnav got confused and sent us the wrong way at one point!
We were asked to park on the gravel hardstanding just outside the toilet/shower block, as the grass area of the site was still quite wet from recent heavy rain.
This wasn't a problem for an overnight, and we still had electric hook up, but for a longer stay we would have liked our pitch with a bit more greenery, though the evening view over the fields was stunning.
The toilet/shower block, although not pretty to look at, was fine with plenty of hot water and always clean. We never had to queue, but then the site wasn't that busy during our stay.
All-in-all, a lovely little site and friendly owners. Recommended.

Despite the atrocious weather, we had a good experience at Heyford Leys.
The site owner, is very 'hands on' and kept a close eye on the field as it gradually became more and more soggy. He was very helpful and could often be seen walking round the site taking care of his guests. He helped with the hitching of our folding camper at the end of our stay as there was a danger of becoming bogged down.
The site is very quiet and at the edge of an abandoned air base. There are no views as such as the site is enclosed by trees.
The facilities are adequate and clean but, I imagine, could become a little busy at peak times as there are only two (huge!) showers for each sex.
There are washing-up facilities under cover and plenty of hot water. There is a freezer (free) for the campers' use but no washing facilities for clothes.
At the site entrance there are buses to Oxford and Bicester which we took advantage of.
The shop nearby is not brilliant but does have the basics.
There is a decent playground a little way up the road from the site entrance but no facilities for children on the site itself.
I would recommend this site for a quiet break but be prepared to make your own entertainment - and hope for decent weather!
