We decided at the last minute to stay due to the recent good weather and booked on Friday and got last pitch on site. Paid £14.00 per night for our campervan with hook up. Very friendly welcome on arrival at this small very quiet site.

Facilities recently updated by the look of it, toilets and showers both modern and clean.

Walked from the site past the old airbase down to Lower Heyford and along the canal towards Oxford.

Lovely area for walking, the people on narrowboats were very chatty. Spent a couple of nice hours in the Bell in Lower Heyford, good value bar meals and good selection of real ales. Staff and locals very friendly.

Very much enjoyed our weekend exploring the local area. Would recommend this site.

Stayed at the park over New Year while travelling around Uk, have friends living in Oxford so was ideal location. Motor home was able to enter park and ride car park at Water Eaton for parking when we used the park and ride, great.

Maintenance work was being carried out on park but owners did explain this when we booked in, it was not a problem.

Used the hardstanding area as grass field was closed for the winter period it is great for motor homes no worries about getting stuck in the mud.

New urinals were being fitted in the gents washroom showers looked fairly new too, found the facilities basic but kept very clean and tidy would recommend this park and will use again when we visit Uk.

This is a small site which is well kept and the showers are clean if not a little basic. The site gets very water logged if its been raining and does'nt drain away quickly. Theres is a very nice pub called the Bell in Heyford which is about a 10 minute drive away (approx 4 mile), there is a small shop down the road which is very basic and very expensive!
The site is within an easy travelling distance to Oxford and Bicester, if you are going to Oxford it is best if you use the Park and Ride as parking is 10 pounds for 4 hours parking in any carpark in Oxford. Overall this was a fair to good site, the only gripe we had was that the site owner lets out tourer caravans to workmen working in the local area and they slam their caravan and car doors and drive off when they get up at 5am in the morning.

Site was easy to find, when we arrived owners showed us to our pitch and were very helpful. Lovely well kept site with very clean showers, ladies toilets were very clean, mens toilet was clean but urinal left a lot to be desired. Good walks from site for dogs. Owners very friendly, and Dave the groundsman was very chatty, would go again as we were made to feel very welcome as were our dogs, and 4 year old grandson.

Friendly owners and showed us to our pitch.Camping field a little uneven so choose your spot well, can get wet on lower edge.Basic but clean free showers and toilets, there was a constant humm from some sort of pump in static home part, near the camping field, not too noticable during day but can hear more at night.Caravan field better with hook ups so will prob use that next time. All in all a nice basic site for exploring the area.

Small site but pitches are well spaced and you are not crammed in. There are small amount of midgies at dawn and dusk so recommend your citronella candles. One toilet block with 2 toilets and 2 showers for each gender (showers are push button type). Ladies toilets were dated but clean but the mens left a lot to be desired.
The only water tap is at the toilet block and if you are pitched at the other end of the campsite then it is quite a walk just for some water. Good canal walks close by and it is close to park and rides for Oxford.
Also there is a good market on a Friday in Bicester that is worth a look. Didn't try any local pubs but there is a chippy 10 mins in the car. Owners will give directions.

Small very clean fresh site. Showers and loos basic but always very clean with all the facilities you would expect. Plenty of good walks close to the site and if it is raining; close by shopping outlet for those clothes you couldn’t otherwise afford, there are even a number of stores selling good outdoor clothing, so worth a visit. Very helpful owners who made sure we got onto the correct pitch and always happy for a short chat between jobs.

Would recommend

We stayed for 2 nights here. Very easy to find. The owner showed us to our pitch. The shower block and toilets were kept clean.

Very basic site, but ideal if you are just using the site as a base for exploring the area.

Visited Oxford and the Cotswold during our stay here.

Lovely site, well kept. I stayed for two nights. Gps found the site easily.
The showers were just the right temperature.
Clean toilets.
Very friendly.
Stream to the left of the site, and a fishing pond at the end of the field.
Easy to get into Oxford to the park and rides.

We had a brilliant week at Heyford Leys. The owners are very friendly and will try and help with anything, ie electric hook up cable too short, and rubber tubing for gas barbecue. They came to the rescue with both. An excellent base for touring Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds.
Would recommend the Bell in Lower Heyford, superb food, very welcoming and the Sunday night quiz. We were made to feel like we had lived there for years.
The walk along the canal is also very relaxing, boats chugging along leisurely and ducks - a great get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
If with children, would seriously recommend the wildlife park at Hook Norton. All very hands on and good fun, if not a little eccentric.
Will definitely return.
