We have just spent the Bank Holiday at Fallbarrow. This is the sixth time we have been here and won't be the last. We make sure we go at least once a year. This is our treat weekend, no kids and no cooking.
Check in is easy, although there isn't much space to pull in to whilst you check in. There is a barrier with fob. There are also gates on the entrance which are closed at 11. 30pm, so Fallbarrow is very secure site.
The pitches are all full serviced, so no messing about filling aquarolls and emptying grey waste. There is a level concrete hard standing for caravan, a tarmac path, a gravel standing for awnings and then grass to sit out on. All pitches have hedges to three sides.
The toilets are key coded locks and if there was one slight complaint it is that the toilets are looking a bit dated. That said they are very clean and the showers are powerful. They are not the usual push button shower, just normal showers.
We had breakfast in the Barn Cafe, which was nice. There is a shop in the Barn which is well stocked.
For us Fallbarrow is all about location. It is 300 yds from the centre of Bowness. Park the car up and don't move it until you are going home. There are plenty of nice pubs and restaurants to try. There is every kind of cuisine you can think off in Bowness.
We will be back

We normally go camping in tents and this was our first trip in a campervan. Although out of season everything was open and available to use. We found the site to be clean, friendly, organised and in a excellent location.
We will recommend this site to others. You can walk into Barrowness within 10 mins where there are plenty of pubs and restaurants to choose from. The site is right on the lake with stunning views and plenty to see and do.

This could have been the best site I have ever stayed at apart from one issue, I'll go into the pros, ,
The site is immaculate and spotlessly clean, really well set out with an excellent location, its two minutes walk from Bowness and right on the lakeside, ,
The staff were spot on and very friendly and efficient, our electric box broke and they had it fixed in about an hour, this was evening time too, ,
The price was ok at £24 per night mid season, the clubhouse was ok too with friendly people in there too with good offers on
Back to the one issue what spoils this site, it was £4 per night for our toy dog and I really cant say why they would charge that (doggy bags bins yes but most sites have these). I would have paid the extra £4 if it was just put on the tariff as there were no doggy showers or anything for the dogs, hope the management heed this as it is a cracking site.

Just spent a long weekend at Fallbarrow and although the weather turned out to be some of the worst that we have camped in, the site was one of the best.
The facilities were outstanding with the pitches being full of everything that you need. Water / electric / waste / T. V. Aerial / hard standing / hedges / grassy area etc etc. Superb!
The bar and shop were very nice and although we didn't try the take away, it looked good. A couple of members of staff, (one in the reception and one in the shop), seemed too busy to be civil and were quite 'off' when I tried to speak to them but I suppose if you're busy.
We ordered fresh bread the night before and picked it up first thing in the morning.
The location is stunning, Lake Windermere on one side and the town of Bowness on the other. We parked up on Friday and didn't touch the car again until we left on Monday.
Absolutely no litter and the facilities were always spotless.
Pricewise, it was slightly more than we've paid before but the facilities warranted more than that so it turned out to be a bargain. The only thing that we thought was overpriced was £4 a night for the dog. Not sure how this was justified but hey ho.
That aside, an excellent site with great Staff and superb facilities.
One last thing about the weather. The site is very, very sheltered. We went into the town and it was blowing a gale and the rain was stair rodding down. It was horrendous. We got back to the site and although the rain was bad, we felt hardly any wind and the drainage was so good that there were very few puddles around our pitch. Considering the way it was outside of the site, this was very impressive.

Just arrived back from another weekend at Fallbarrow. This is our favourite site. It is not the cheapest but it is the best for location. It is only 200 yards from all the shops and restaurants in Bowness town centre. The weather was bad but it didn't matter or spoil our weekend
The pitches are fully serviced with water, electric and drainage. Toilets have coded locks on them, they are very clean if a little dated. There is a barrier system on the entrance to the site with a fob.
The Boat House pub on site has had a few changes since last year with an Over 21 Lounge and new toilets. We ate in here Friday night and the food is nice. We decided to walk into Bowness on Friday after we had eaten and do a pub crawl. We took the road to the right of the carpark at the main entrance and called at the Hole in th' wall (first pub on the left). It turned out that there was a band on called 'Bloodshot eyes', they are on every Friday until September. We ended up staying in here for the rest of the night as we enjoyed it so much.
We had a cooked breakfast in 'The Barn' cafe on site, which was very nice and with the voucher booklet you now get we had free hot drinks.
We ate at a lovely Indian Restaurant called 'Mela', we usually go to 'Bodega' for tapas but couldn't get in as they were so busy. We have realised that we have been missing out on other fine cuisine in Bowness so we are going to try something different each time we go.
This was our treat weekend we haven't cooked a single thing all weekend, we haven't driven anywhere, we have just eaten, shopped, drank, eaten and drank somemore and relaxed bliss!
Fallbarrow can be a good base to explore the lakes or just to park up and explore Bowness.
We love it and are back again for the August Bank holiday

Check was quick and easy and we were given a map to our pitch. The pitches were separated by hedging giving you good privacy. We went for hardstanding which had also TV ariel pug which made things even better.
We set the van up and then took a walk into town. The walk was around 8 minutes and there was a great choice of pubs shops and eating places. The site itself does also have a food menu but we thought it to be a little expensive.
The entertainment at the site was hit & miss and we found that the people in static caravan tended to stick together so to us it was very cliquey.
We did have a pleasant stay on the park and would return.

What a nice site. The site is easy to get to and couldn't be closer to bowness, even though once on the site you could be in your own bit of the lakes, in fact you are as it has its own jettys. The staff are all helpful and the facilities are great, the site had a fantastic little park which my 3yr old loved, it had swings and a little football/basketball section. The loos and showers were clean at all times but were a bit cold when you go out of the shower but hey its march after all. The pitch was ample sized with concrete for the caravan and small stone for the awning then a bit of grass and all enclosed with your own boundary bushes. The pitches are fully serviced if you have the gear. We will deffo be back

Just spent two days at Fallbarrow, we booked for one night over the phone but on arrival were told we could stay for two and because our Jack Russells are only small they only charged us for one dog.
All the staff we spoke to from the receptionists to the gardeners were very friendly. Good pitch separated from the others by hedges.
Two minute walk to the enclosed dog exercise area and waters edge. Spotless toilets and showers, great deli with shop selling groceries and newspapers and on site pub [didn't use].
Right in the centre of Bowness with access to the shops and great pubs, a mention to the Royal Oak, very dog friendly with free dog biscuits. An excellent base to visit the Lakes.

Top notch, fanatstic pitches and location for a touring site. No direct views of the lake for the tourers but a mere 50yard walk gets you onto the shore line.
Very well maintained immaculate site with small perfectly formed pitches that have there own 6ft high beech hedge for added privacy. A very short 2 minute walk and you are in the village of Barrow, very dog friendly, most pubs and shops encourage dogs.
Absolutely loads to do and what a gorgeous part of our country. Fallbarrow is a lovely well kept, great location site, and we couldn't think of any negatives.
We did have difficulty getting a tv reception but there is tv points which we didn't use. Having said that it's more fun without the tv as you talk more and explore more.
Highly recommend and good value for money

This site is mainly holiday homes and static vans. The touring area is beautiful. The pitched are separated by hedges which make it quite private. The toilet/shower block is clean with lots of hot water. We don't have children but there is a lovely playground.
The site position is brilliant. Just a 5 minute walk into Bowness with all the shops, pubs, restaurants and lake Windermere. There are some lovely walks around the area.
We purchased a walkers ticket which included a boat trip to Wray Castle We then walked down to the ferry house and the ticket included retun trip to Bowness.
We loved this site and would love to come back again sometime.
