Excellent site, excellent location.
The site is a short walk into the pretty town of Bowness which has a good range of eateries and some decent pubs.
We thought the site was expensive for a nights stay, but overall it's good value for money. There is a post by the side of each pitch providing hook up, TV, drinking water, grey and even chemical water disposal - no trekking round the site with your lil grey boxes here!
Each pitch was a good size and bounded by hedges, making them reasonably private.
On site the was a shop and pub/restaurant - we never sampled in these though, choosing to wander into the town.
The showers were fab - they'd take the skin off ya back - clean, hot and no keep jabbing the button every 8 seconds!
As people who don't normally pay these prices or stay on commercial sites like this, we found the price a little high - but the facilities, location and friendliness of the staff more than make up for it.
We will be returning!

Stayed here for three nights, very large, perfect if you want to be close as possible to windermere. Separate touring park from lodges / statics nice hedged pitches very good amenities. Tariff a bit pricey you pay for location, worth it. Right next to bowness for ferrys, cruises, walks, park, shops pub etc. Good for cycling we caught the ferry to the opposite bank and cycled traffic free along the edge of the lake very enjoyable. Would stay again

We stayed at this caravan site in May 2009. The facilities for tourers with the super pitches were great. Each pitch has its own area with bushes dividing the different touring pitches.
There is a pub which sells pub food and a take away on site also.
There is a good play area for the children which is quite a walk away but very worth while.
The sites location is great if you want to take a walk into the shops or down to Lake Windermere
Toilet and Shower facilities were always clean with plenty of hot water.
My only negative point which I suppose is quiet petty I spent about 2-3 hours trying to get the TV tuned into Freeview using the aerial connection supplied on the pitch, but just could not get any signal. I tried various cables and connections and got nothing, then tried lastly to try Analogue and then got the basic channels. (Should have tried that earlier I know) so they only have the basic channels when we went and could not pick up Freeview with the aerial connection supplied.
This is a site that I would definitely return to, it was a little expensive perhaps but well worth it.

We stayed here in our touring caravan it is a brilliant site.
The toilet block was always clean and the showers were free and spacious, there was also a free hair dryer at a small dressing table.
The site was very clean and tidy with pretty flowers everywhere, each touring pitch (some a lot smaller than others!) was separated by tall hedges, although this was nice because of the privacy factor I felt that it wouldn't be ideal if our son was older because there wouldn't be enough space for him to play around the caravan!
There are some very friendly ducks that visit you everyday and will eat anything your children don't want!
The children's playground is very good with the usual swings, slides and climbing frames.
The onsite shop is very well stocked and reception has a good range of leaflets of places to visit.
The onsite bar/restaurant is brilliant with entertainment saturdays and sundays, they have the biggest leather chairs and sofas to relax in while drinking in the bar, in the next room is a family room with a pool table and several arcade machines.
The site is just a few minutes walk away from Bowness, a pretty little town with many lovely little shops to look in and boats are available to hire to sail on lake Windermere.
Windermere is a bit further away but still a good walking distance.
We highly recommend this site even though it is quite pricey and we would stay there again if we return to the area.

Just got back from a 3 night stay over the spring bank weekend and this was our first visit to fallbarrow. You would have to really nitpick to fault this place, I didn't find it too expensive either considering the location, 4 strides away from the centre of Bowness and still on the banks of the lake (neat trick). Good clean toilet blocks, well kept pitches and no litter anywhere. The bar, although pleasant and fairly large was always practically empty, this may be a recession thing but I think more likely it is a little ill conceived due to the very close proximity of the night life in bowness itself (also better food in bowness) Reception very helpful and friendly bar staff less so. Only one suggestion, the hedges that separate the pitches seem to encroach a bit too much and I noticed a lot of people in caravans having a bit of difficulty reversing into position, so this may be one site where they are not such a good idea. The children's entertainer wasn't bad (and that's unusual nowadays) but the thing that made the whole trip for my grandson were the 2 ducks that came quacking at our door to be fed at 6 every night and would even take it very gently from his hand . Perfect

I have been to many sites over the years & this one stands out as the very best due to the location, views, attention to detail & the cleanliness. The site is fantastic with excellent sized pitches with T.V point, waste (all), water & electric 2ft away from your van.
I would recommend it to anyone 'couple or family alike' due to the location & facilities in and around the area. The views of the lake and surrounding mountains are superb, even when full it is so peaceful. Book a week, you will not be disappointed.

Just had a long weekend at this site, situated very close to the town of Bowness on Windermere. We were staying in a static caravan on this occassion as they don't offer tent camping but have many facilities for tourers. The touring sections appeared quite well laid out, central for amenities etc. It is well laid out, clean and great for families. Bowness itself is extremely busy with lots of traffic and tourists. It can be a bit tricky to negotiate around it with the kids. Fallbarrow has an onsite entertainment complex with bar, family lounge & restaurant, take-away, deli and shop. We didn't use the bars or restaurants but made use of the shop and deli. This is very new. Things were quite expensive though they did have a nice selection of local & interesting food stuffs (I would imagine they have less out of season). The food in the deli itself didn't look all that good. We only had coffees etc. The biggest pull is the lakeside location here. Our son loved feeding the ducks and splashing around. There are 'Danger' signs up by the jetties warning against bathing due to deep shelving but you need to exercise your own caution, I think. There is a play area which we only found on our last evening. There is lots of space though it is on a hillside and was very muddy. There is a good selection of play equipment, however. The sister sites of Limefitt Park and White Cross Bay are also available for Fallbarrow customers to make use of. White Cross Bay has a leisure complex and lakeside location, but we didn't use it. Out and about we found some of the smaller lakeland 'villages' more attractive than Bowness & Windermere. Grasmere was very pleasant and the gingerbread from the churchyard shop is very good, even if you are shoulder-to-shoulder to make your purchase! We struggled to find cash machines so make sure you've got your cash before you go, though if you are prepared to battle the bigger towns you will of course find them there.

The site itself is set within Bowness on lake Windermere and is a perfect location within the lakes. The site is a mix of tourers, statics and lodges all set within trees and right on the shore of the lake itself with an stunning view (and I mean stunning view!)
The site has a very nice clubhouse with a playroom for kids, games room and pool table. There is sky TV and entertainment. We found this a pleasant on site facility with friendly staff, good beer and OK food alright if you order burgers and chips etc .
Eating can be done on site and its ok however a 200 metre walk and you are at a chip shop or pub which is nice, however the on site catering has the luxury of leather sofas, entertainment, beer and TV so weigh up what you are after.
In the centre there are several good eateries, pubs cafe etc and they are nice with plenty of things to do i.E. Lake boat ride, sealife centre, arcades, beatrix potter, Ambleside (sit in the pub garden overlooking the lake) and so on.
The pitch we had had a nice area of grass, ok for privacy and near the toilet blocks of which the Male toilet blocks were cleaned daily but got mucky as the day went on and were poorly lit. The female toilet blocks were the same however there was plenty of warm water, privacy cubicles and they were cleaned its just some people aren't as clean and follow rules as they maybe should!
Laundry on site, cleaning room are fine. All services to pitches and site are very good hard standing with grass areas.
The surrounding area is beautiful, site is good and clean and well worth a visit. We will go back one year as its perfect for the family and there is plenty to do.

Spent 2 nights at Fallbarrow, which is ideally placed for the delights of Bowness. The site was tidy and the staff very pleasant and helpful. The pitch was fully serviced for caravans but we had to drive to a waste station which was a bit of a tight squeeze. The club is very bland, the beer selection really none existent (walk to the Hole Int Wall) Would call again but only for one night as there are many other sites easily accessible in the Lakes
