Lovely, clean, well looked after site. Toilets and showers spotlessly clean. Touring pitches are quite spacious with hedges both sides of pitch to give a bit more privacy. Staff really helpful and pitches only a stones throw from the edge of the lake. All pitches are superpitches but for £17 a night they should be. 1 minute walk into Bowness-on-Windermere which has loads of gift shops and pubs and cafes and you can catch the ferry from here to Ambleside or Lakeside. Didnt use the on-site pub but looked nice. Shop not too pricey. Definitely worth a visit.

Booked this site over the phone, was a little suprised at the £21 per night price tag, but needed to be near Bowness so I paid up and looked forward to a fantastic campsite for that price.
Arrived at reception and was booked in very efficiently by their friendly staff. After this, it all went downhill. Showers and toilet areas were dirty. Kids playing football near the vans despite the rules to the contrary, even whilst the warden was around.
The pich was pleasant enough though, Electric hook up, dringing water and also a TV aerial connection. It was hard standing and gravel based. Went for a beer in the Pub on site. They had one barmen on who was never behind the bar or on the rare occasions he was would say I'll be back in a minute and dissapeared. Gave up in the end and went to the Old John Peel, highly recommended pub.
Bowness itself is a very nice town and I think the countryside around winderemere speaks for itself. A beautiful part of the country.
The biggest insult of all was at 12.30 when I was packing up someone came and stuck a flyer under my windscreen to say "thanks for staying, make sure you vacate the pitch by 1pm"

This site has everything, it's large, with all the facilities you could wish for. Fresh and waste water facilities with every pitch, tv ariel sockets, service pitches I think they are called. A place for your car in front of your van and a grassed area beside the awning. I must say that although this was the dearest site we stopped at during our holiday we didn't feel it was the best, it was too large for our liking, it was clean though and very well looked after. Its in an ideal location, just a few minutes walk to the shops in Bowness and idealy situated for all areas of the lakes, the site is on the banks of Lake Windamere and as you walk around the site you can get some lovely views.

March 2005 Had a good stay at Fallbarrow. The hardstanding pitches are good with all the amenities attached, toilets clean good showers etc. I can imagine its a different place at busy times as there are a lot of 'shoehorned' statics on the site. It is right on the banks of Windermere but the best bit is probably that Bowness town is a stones throw and has everything you'd need - even walking. So you can litterally park the car and forget it for a few days if you wish - which lets face is the best policy in the lakes in summer!!. The pay and display near the harbour is £4!

may 2004 2 night's I agree with Anita. The site is well laid out, everything next to your caravan water, drainage, tv ariel etc. Only took me 4 mins to walk into Bowness. The site is very clean, even has music playing in the toilets. I will be visiting again. The site not the toilets lol.

April 2002 One of the best caravan sites I have been on. It is so very well laid out with specific hard standing car parking space to each pitch, hard standing for caravan and awning and garden area too. The pitches are all super pitches consisting of hook up, elsan point, cable tv, water and drainage. The facilities are superb as is the setting and the closeness to Bowness.
