Friendly and informative welcome, pitched up on block paved hardstanding with grass side, picture perfect view. 2 shower blocks which could do with a major revamp to bring them to a standard the campsite deserves, also hot water and toilet roll issues, shop selling all food requirements, facilities for children looked very good to keep them entertained, on site hot food outlet selling a wide variety at good prices. Entrance and exit roads have large road humps which throw a tourer about a bit even going slow (my opinion not required- go slow signs would be enough), fishing is excellent and out of the way of playing children. Situation is good to use as a base to visit other places. All supermarkets to be found in st austell 3 miles away. Took advantage of the 6 for 7 night deal in mid season and the holiday proved to be a steal. The weather was very hot which was the icing on the cake for us. We try to visit different sites but when we return to cornwall it will be hard not to book back onto this site

I could sit here all day trying to write something negative about this site but still wouldn't manage it. As campers who normally go to small basic sites we were a bit worried but there was absolutely no need, the pitches were a very good size the facilities were very good and always spotless and even though the site was busy when we were there we never once waited for a shower. The staff were always friendly and helpful and if we were ever visiting this part of Cornwall again would certainly return to this site.

Just returned from a fantastic holiday at Meadow Lakes.
We stayed in the family sized camping pod. Having stayed in standard pods in the past we loved having a bit of extra space.
We really loved this site. It was very family orientated but also had a lovely quiet, relaxing, outdoorsy feel!
There were two play areas. A large one on the bottom field and a smaller climbing frame and swings on the top field near the pods. Our children played here every night and met lots of new friends.
The swimming pool was a real bonus. We had a swim late afternoon most days and never found it to be too busy.
The shop was fantastic, stocking everything you could possibly need. They also had lovely croissants, hot sausage rolls and pasties which was perfect when we couldn't be bothered cooking.
There was also a little catering trailer there most nights selling takeaway food. They had a fantastic range of gourmet burgers (everything from aberdeen angus to kangaroo!) Plus pizzas, fish and chips etc.
There were three toilet/shower blocks. They were very clean and in the brown block there was a row of around 5 individual shower rooms and 2 bathrooms with a shower or bath, toilet and basin. We never found them to be too busy. The only downside we found was that the pods were at the top of a hill, a bit of walk to the facilities. Probably exaggerated as we have two young children and wouldn't be an issue in a tent or tourer as there were loads of pitches nearby.
All in all a fantastic holiday. Lots to do in the surrounding area. Lovely beaches, villages and plenty for kids. We would definitely return to Meadow Lakes.

We arrived after a very long journey and the site was a welcome sight.
The bluebell field (non electric)was an excellent size all be it a bit slopey we got a great pitch and could see the excellent childs play area from all areas of this field.
The swimming pool, animals enclosures, play areas and barn were excellent well kept facilities.
The shop was well stock with everything you could possible need, forgot or run out of.
The reception staff were very helpful and friendly
The changing areas and toilet and shower blocks were abundant and exceptionally clean ( could do with wooden mats though as floors did get quite wet after a shower).
The games room and wifi lounge were also an added bonus, unfortunately couldn't get wifi to work at all but just made me put away my technology for a while. Was a bit peeved I couldn't freeze my own ice blocks and had to rent the sites ice blocks even though it said in the welcome pack I could freeze my own.
Also we loved the fishinglakes but couldn't be bothered to go to the post office to buy a permit. It also said permits were available from reception which they weren't.
Our dog loved the site and our children had a ball and made lots of friends - would def recommend over any other st austell / mevagissey sites

We stayed here for 9 nights on a grass pitch with a tourer, my brothers family in a Tent and my parents in a tourer on hard standing. The site is very open which is nice, they are good at keeping it quiet after dark so not an 18-30s style holiday ļ The pitch sizes are good, seems to be lots of space. The staff are VERY friendly and helpful, there are rules which is good as it sets clear expectations on what is allowed vs not.
The play areas are great for the kids, and the play barn good with some entertainment, we had faces painted while there and used the ping pong table.
Fishing is good on site, there are a lot of flies so be prepared to be bitten round the lakes, but some good sport to be had.
Great places to visit nearby, local ports are great, the beaches near are also good. The staff will recommend the places for you when you arrive.
Pool is good, water was warm, bitten by those angry flies again around the pool, not sure if it was the wet followed by warm weather or not.
Toilet block near us was not great, didn¡¦t seems to be cleaned as advertised and needs a refresh as it¡¦s very dated. My brother picked up a bug, then his daughter, and then my son was sick on the last day. Could be coincidence, we will never know. The hygiene levels in there were very poor so we searched out a new block on the other side behind reception was a lot better and we used that after a few days.
Pitches are on a slope so be aware of that, even the hard standing are not level. No issue, just be aware.

It may have been a bit of a Wet week but we made the most of it!
The Campsite is lovely, Friendly and helpful staff.
Facilities were all clean and tidy.
The Children loved visiting the Animals, though the Donkeys were a bit noisy!
Two reasonable outdoor play areas and the play barn kept the children entertained whilst on site.
We have site been back with family and stayed in a caravan, again it was brilliant!
The best bit is probably the food van that serves really crazy but tasty food!

We visited this site after seeing a sign off the main road so had no idea what sort of place it was before we got there. This would not be the sort of place we would normally choose, however as it was off season it was extremely quiet, very clean, well kept.
The showers were hot and worked well, we were even offered the use of a brand new bath! Good washing up facilities with very hot water. The staff were very helpful.
We really appreciated the care that had been taken as we had just stayed at two sites where, presumably because it was at the end of the season the owners could not be bothered to keep their facilities clean.
We could not believe the price which was lower due to the time of year at £17 for hard standing with hook up.
Had the grass pitches been dry we could have been there, without hook, up for only £7.
If we are in the area again, off season, we would definitely return.

We had a lovely holiday at Meadowlakes. Check in was very quick and staff helpful and friendly.
The caravan we stayed in was a bit dated but comfortable. It could have been a bit cleaner but then again I am fussy! My big complaint with regards to the caravan was that the bed was rock hard but once we'd bought a mattress topper we were ok.
The site is great and well laid out with a very good outdoor play area for the children and a few animals and a lovely outdoor swimming pool. The site shop is well stocked and not a rip off as sometimes they can be.
Meadowlakes still needs a lot of updating but the owners do seem to be improving it.
There's lots to do in the surrounding area, too much for us to fit in in a week. St Austell has good amenities, including a large Asda and Tesco and a few places to eat.
The area was pretty and Pendower beach is worth a visit. Overall not a bad place to stay.

Just spent a lovely 12 nights at Meadow Lakes.
We'd booked a hard-standing pitch which had a nice paved area for the van & car with the awning being pitched on grass. There was still plenty of room for table & chairs in front of the unit.
Arrival time is supposed to be 2pm but we arrived early & were put straight onto our pitch. Surprisingly, only about half the hardstandings were taken & there was plenty of room on the camping/touring fields too.
There's a good dog walking area where they can run safely off-lead. The kids playground was great & altho we don't fish, the lakes were lovely.
We were a bit disappointed the 1st morning to find the old white toilet block only had 2 showers which had no curtain to shield your towel or clothes from the spray. But we soon discovered the new block built directly behind the old one with individual full bathrooms - shower cubicle, loo & sink with mirror in each with one also having a full bath. Excellent & we didn't have to queue once.
The kids loved the outdoor pool - it was well heated so it didn't need to be a hot day to use it.
There is a selection of animals for petting - 2 donkeys, Jimmy the Shetland pony, goats & chucks. There's also a games room (we didn't use it) & a free wifi room (no wifi on pitches & no 3G until you get into St Austell).
There's a big Asda about 10mins drive away on the outskirts of St Austell & a shopping centre with cinema in the centre.
The site is well located for getting out & about - we had a couple of days on Fistral Beach (Newquay) & also got out to Bodmin, Tintagel, Padstow, St Ives, Lands End, Marazion & Treasure Land in Redruth. The nearest beach is a lovely little cove at Caerhays about 5 miles away.
All in all, a lovely holiday on a lovely site.

Just arrived home from a lovely break at Meadow Lakes, When we arrived we were promptly given our pitch in the top field and was a little concerned as there is a slight slope in the field but soon got sited and was relieved as the wind was blowing and soon realised that although we were in the top field the field was sheltered from the wind.
The pitch itself was plenty big enough for our Amazon 600 tent, car and room to sit outside in the evening.
The new owners of the site have done a lot of work on the site, this includes a complete refurb of the children's park which has now been moved into the smaller of the camping fields my 9yr old son enjoyed is self in the park.
The outdoor heated swimming pool which is definitely heated was like stepping into a bath and the new changing rooms are looking really nice.
The shop is well stocked and the owners have also said that if you want anything that they don't have they will try and get it in as soon as possible although there is an Asda Superstore just down the road in St Austell.
The fishing lakes are really good sport with plenty of small Rudd and Roach and the occasional Carp there is some good walks around the 4 lakes there.
There is now a dog walk field which has a chair at the top for you to sit down and watch your dog have a run.
My only problem with the site this time was there only being one toilet block open and there being only two showers which could be a problem in the high season.
We will definitely be going back to Meadow Lakes
