We arrived at the site having had a terrible journey (we had an accident on the M5) We were greeted by Debs and she really took care of us. She showed us to our pitch and very kindly made us a cup of tea. A very kind neighbour also took our spaniel for a walk whilst we sorted our pitch out. We pitched up and what a delight this site is. All the dramas of the day were forgotten. The views are amazing and the atmosphere was relaxed. The facilities were clean and we never had to queue for a shower. Debs is a marvel and she makes you feel so welcome. Watching the children feeding the animals was wonderful, there is plenty of room for running around and playing games in the field adjoining. There is also a football pitch very nearby. The short walk into Portscathough is lovely as are the little coves around the headland. Local pubs are great and the food was always delicious, we joined the Harbour Club for the year as we plan to return. I has a lovely view of the harbour. We also visited the Hidden Hut on our first night having secured tickets (their like gold dust) We ate lobster and met lots of interesting people, what a friendly place. I cannot wait to return to Treloan in my repaired van. Thanks again Debs for your hospitality !

We have just returned from a lovely 11 day stay at Treloan.
I can see the site has had slightly mixed reviews in the past but having read them I went with realistic expectations which were more than surpassed.
The price for us was reasonable at £18. 50 per night, I can see how in peak season, with an electric hook-up, more than two people and maybe a dog it could quickly add up, although this does seem to be the case for most sites I look at.
The shower blocks were basic as in no hand dryer/hair dryer but modern and clean. The smaller block near the office seemed to be quieter. Lots of local attraction leaflets available and it was very handy to have a washing machine when we decided to extend our stay by a few days. No trouble with queues for facilities.
No visiting fish and chip van while we were there but a nice wood-fired pizza van.
Stunning location, I hadn't expected it to be so beautiful or the sea to be such lovely colour. Gorgeous walks along the coastal path with plenty of pretty and not busy beaches. Portscathough is a lovely little village. We loved the Hidden Hut with its delicious homemade cakes.
Debs and Pete are great hosts, friendly but not imposing, and very laid back. My daughter loved their dogs and the animal feeding sessions, and as one of the older children on site Debs made her feel special by asking her to help the younger children - she was in her element! Very tasty eggs from the chickens.
We were pitched on the top part of the site which had lovely sea views but is quite exposed in the wind. The winds really picked up one day while we were off site and was forecast to continue overnight (45mph with a local weather warning and the ferry services cancelled), when we returned our tent didn't look to be holding up too well, Debs was straight over to offer us use of a static caravan for the evening which was gratefully received and then she and Pete helped us put the tent down for the night and weight it with some wood from around the site. They couldn't have been anymore helpful!
If there is wind forecast and you're in a tent it may be worth requesting a pitch towards the bottom of the camp which was a bit more sheltered. The rest of our stay was beautiful weather with just the usual coastal wind which wasn't a problem.
The site was quiet during the week with mostly couples and a few, mostly young, children; busier at weekends with families - not packed in though and they were pretty much full, a very nice atmosphere. I imagine the campfire sessions in the summer will be great fun.
I would definitely recommend this site to family and friends, its a shame we're an eight hour drive away or we'd definitely be regulars!

Brilliant campsite with loads to offer in the local area.
You can walk the coast to Place and get a small ferry to St Mawes.
It is always worth a visit to the hidden hut but I'm not going to tell you where it is!
Toilets/Showers are always clean and warm.
Perfect quiet friendly family run campsite in a great location

Stayed in the 'snug' for 2 very cold nights. Lit the very small wood burner with some suspicion that it would enough. Amazing, certainly earned the name 'snug'. Went to the pub and the fire was still in when we came back - brilliant.
Great location, short walk to a very welcoming pub serving good food. 5 minutes to the coastal path with several loop walks.
Shower block clean. Plenty of hot water but mind your head in the gents!
2 minor criticisms - it`s a pity the snug is so close to the hedge there is no view of the sea. We intended to camp but there are few level pitches.
Otherwise recommended and the owners were very helpful

This is a fantastic site for a winter visit. It has several hard standings, superb sea views, electric hook-up and a very friendly welcome from the owners. It is only a short walk from the village with pubs serving good food and a shop. The coast path just a few minutes from the site. The one shower block that was open when we went was quite basic but very clean with lots of hot water and perfectly adequate.

We have just returned relaxed and recharged after our 5th visit to Treloan. We love the beautiful setting, the wonderful walks along the coastal path, the convenience of scenic Portscathough and the warm friendly welcome from Debs Pete and all at Treloan. The facilities are simple, always clean and in working order and are more than adequate. We have never yet had to wait for a shower as there are a two separate shower/toilet blocks and we love the fact that we always have lovely hot water. It's really handy having a washing machine/drier/freezer to use and large sinks for the inevitable washing up! We have already booked for next year, and can't wait :-)

Nice position with some pitches having a sea view, fairly easy walk to portscathough village which has nice pub & a good but expensive shop. Easy access to coast path as well. However, it was a bit like being parked up in a school playground, probably best avoided if you don't have children. We also thought it pretty expensive for the facilities which are a bit dated.
Also found the waste disposal point being right on the edge of the toilets by pitches not ideal as smells wafted over.

Just returned from this site. We were booked for 8 nights but left after just 5 as the site was far too noisy for us.
There were some good points however:
*An excellent location within easy walking distance of the SW Coast path.
*There is a small rocky beach also within close walking distance. We found a much nicer beach about 1. 5 miles west along the SW coast path that was bigger with nicer sand and had a pop up tea/cake van which was a nice surprise.
*There is a bottom field which gives children lots of space to run around in
*There is a small animal area with sheep etc that the children can feed each morning.
*There is a weekly BBQ and entertainment.
*The fish and chip van visits a couple of times a week.
*There are 2 pubs within close walking distance. We only tried 1, The Plume of Feathers in Portscatho, it had nice food and was reasonably priced (booking is essential though!)
However, there were also some downsides which led to our early departure:
*Our pitch was on the corner, next to the path that led to the toilets and filed/walk. This meant that every camper on the east side of the site had to walk past us every time they wanted to go to the toilet or out to the path/field. This would not have been so bad had some campers not let their dogs run free off the lead. On a number of occasions we had dogs run into our awning as we also had dogs. There are signs to ask you to keep your dogs on a lead but this is not adhered to or enforced.
*There was a bank running along the side of our pitch which was being used as a mini BMX track by some older boys on bikes. On one occasion, one boy cut across right in front of our awning so fast he nearly wiped our dog out that was lying by the side asleep.
*If you want a quiet, relaxing holiday go somewhere else. As I said, the site is great for kids, and there were lots of them. There was a lot of screaming and falling over and half the time parents didn't seem to know where their kids were. One very small child (about 4) fell off his trike in front of out van on the gravel and we went over to help him as there was no sign of any parent coming over.
*As other reviewers have said, the facilities are very basic. We guessed that there was about 80 pitches (aprox. ) and I only found 2 (yes 2!) showers in the ladies and there were 2 in the gents. This meant that you had to shower at odd times of the day if you didn't want a long wait. And although they were cleaned well every day, it should have been repeated a number of times for the amount of traffic passing through them.
*It's very, very expensive. I'm not sure if it has always been this expensive or is a result of being on the TV but £29. 50 a night is ridiculous for the facilities that you get. When we left, we found a farm about 10/15 miles east that was only £14 a night and the facilities were comparable.
When we decided to leave we spoke to the gentleman that owns it and he was very professional and apologetic. He did offer us 1 nights refund as he said he couldn't refund us the full 3 days we were not taking as he wouldn't be able to re-let our pitch on a Saturday and Sunday.
Overall, I would recommend this site if you have children but not if you want a relaxing, peaceful holiday.

What a lovely quiet site, with great views out to sea. The owners were very welcoming and helpful.
The toilet / shower blocks (2) were always clean, as was the wash up area, there is even a low level sink for the kids to use.
There is a laundry in one of the blocks and an information area. Plenty of EHU, a CDP, but unfortunately no motorhome service point so our grey water had to emptied by bucket into a drain.
All pitches are grass.
The site is dog friendly with easy access to cliff top for dog walks.
There is a large field with football net, campfire area and sheep and chickens.
The Royal standard is a 5 minute walk from the site (along the road). Reasonable food, but we were disappointed that a pub specialising in Cornish beer only had beer from Somerset!
10 minutes walk from the back of the site along the coast path brings you to the village of Portscatho, where there is a beach, the famous 'hidden hut' - great food; a few galleries, café, post office, award winning butcher, fishing tackle shop, and a pub (no beer garden and limited menu but friendly local).
There is also a small supermarket / deli that advertises fresh fish and pasties, but as it was 'out of season' these were not available. Also if you are looking for milk, this can be found in the alcohol section, not dairy where one would expect it!
St Anthonys Head makes for a good day out, take a picnic and enjoy the fortifications and views. The site is also handy for St Mawes and ferry crossings to Falmouth.

This is the perfect campsite. Firstly it's in an absolutely beautiful location. Within a minute or two you are on the coast path and are greeted by breathtaking views. Portscathough is a 20 minute walk along the coastpath and is well worth a visit. The site is dog friendly. We have a camper and were provided with an electric hook up. The facilities were very good. There was a modern and very clean shower and toilet block. In a field adjacent to the site there was a communal area with a firepit which I thought was a lovely touch. I couldn't fault the site owner who was the loveliest lady and made us feel so welcome. Some friends stayed here a couple of weeks ago and couldn't fault Treloan either. We will be heading back in the next few weeks to enjoy it again.
