We stayed here for a week in July after reading other reviews and looking at website - this needs updating - . We arrived later than planned and within minutes were offered a cup of tea - thats never happened before!. As mentioned the shower/toilet blocks do have a half finished feel to them but are adequate for the number of pitches in use when we were there. Showers were hot but only ran for about 8-10 seconds with each push, its not easy washing one handed!. Washing up is in a lean to next to the showers only 3 sinks but again we never had to wait for anything. This I suspect would be different when the site is full. And everything was clean and tidy. Can't comment on the family bathroom in the ladies as there was a family of swallows nesting in it.Disabled toilets next to reception were huge and well laid out but a little dated. Pitches were big and we were offered an alernative as our hook up wasnt long enough and the slope was to great for our unit this will/may be a problem for tents but only on the lower field, but the grass needs cutting as its difficult to determine where one pitch ends and the next begins also, when it rains the long grass stays wet for a long time. Mobile reception was no existant unless you walk up to the top of the lane and stand by the church. This is the only "seaside" site I have stayed on with a sea view and its a fantastic one at that, owners are very helpful and friendly and Victor wants you to get involved with milking etc fresh eggs are on sale. The coast path and beaches realy are a few minutes away as the website says and not a 10 minute hike as is often the reality.Local village is not commercial and everyone we met was friendly, can recommend both The Standard at the top of the lane and the Plume for food huge portions in both and reasonable prices (unusual for Cornwall!. I got the feeling that this part of Cornwall was not at all touristy and I wasnt being ripped off. However prices in the shop in the village are a bit steep but it is very well stocked with food wine and bits and bobs you may have forgotten to pack.If you want to aviod the hill up and down to Porthcaso use the coast path. Tescos etc at Turo approx 20 minutes away but make sure you use there car park and not the pay and display next door also most car parks charge up to 10pm. We used the ferry from St Mawes to Falmouth and also the King Harry chain ferry look for discounts if you use them as all ferry operators work as a team. In summary if you want a quiet relaxed holiday close to a safe beach and not the regimented approach of bigger sites this will suit you.

Just spent a week at Treloan Coastal Farm, two families in two large tents - 9 people including 5 children all aged 8 and under. The site is definitely 'interesting' - the toilet facilities are basic but clean and have a 'work-in-progress' feel to them that leads you to believe they were assembled from a manual with the pages mixed up! - however they are adequate, even though there appeared to be only 3-4 male showers on the site I never queued more than a minute. The site is a working farm and family concern and all the staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout. The field is mainly sloping but the pitches are large. Placement of units is a bit haphazard with tents and caravans all mixed in together. Electric hook-ups are provided on some pitches if required. You can now also hire a few static caravans. The ground was soft (no rock-pegs required!). The location is fantastic - sea views out onto the bay are stunning and the small beaches are only a 5 minute walk away along the (safe) cliff paths. The Roseland peninsula seems to be off the beaten track - we went in high holiday season and although the site itself seemed full we never had any problems parking anywhere and the beaches were half-empty. It's a 10 minute drive to the beautiful St Mawes with its ferry to Falmouth and a 30-40 min drive to Truro. There is no shop on-site but there is a small snack bar serving food through the day which was very good, again run by the family. The village of Portscatho is a beautiful 10 minute cliff-top walk away where you can find a well-stocked general store/off-license, post office and a couple of good pubs with varied menus. We will definitely return someday - the rustic feel to the site added to its appeal and it just had all the main basic facilities we required without the clubs, bars and associated noise that they bring.

My first camping experience, and I don't think any would match it. Stunning views, peaceful location, easy and relaxed attitude to it all. So the facilities are not perfect, but I don't go on holiday to sit on the loo or shower all day. They served the purpose and if timed right they were not busy or overcrowded. My partner and I will be returning next year to have another refreshing break at this wonderful "time has stopped still" site. Thank you Victor for sharing your field with us all, and long may it continue.

January 2005 You'll find this site charming or exasperating, depending on your tastes and maybe the weather. Its great asset is its situation, with stunning sea views and easy access to beaches and the wonderful coastal walking. And the reception is delightfully homely and friendly: how often do you get offered a cup of tea when you arrive at a commercial site? The facilities work, the water is hot, but the roof leaks, there's no loo paper, no hand-dryer, and you wonder if that unattached light fitting is going to brain you as you sit on the throne! I've a keen hatred of our countryside (and especially our coasts) being over-developed. But a gem of a site like this surely deserves more money to be spent on it.

August 2003 When we visited the site was completely packed out to the point of being overcrowded. The facilities are very basic and the chemical toilet point wasn't working at the time of our visit. The pitches are very cramped and I thought the campsite was very expensive for the facilites provided - we paid £20.80 for a night including electricity. The site has the private beaches but this site really was like no other I have ever stayed on!

July 2002 This is a beautifully located site with fantastic sea views. It was fairly busy while we were there, but the open outlook meant that it did not feel crowded.
The facilities are clean and adequate. We made much use of the large disabled/family bathroom as it made life easier for us with our toddler. Although the site was full, there did not seem to be too much of a problem despite the limited number of toilets and showers, so maybe the caravanners use their own. There was a new washblock under construction while we were there, which will also help matters.
The whole set up seemed rather ad hoc - with the dishwashing area in what can only be described as a lean-to full of old fridges! However, I felt that all this was part of the charm of the site, and summed up the owners' relaxed and friendly approach to running it. I felt that the less than perfect facilities were a small price to pay for such a beautiful site with fantastic views, access to its own little beaches and withing walking distance of two prettty villages. Many of the campers we met had been back year after year, and we could understand why.

April 2003 Have just spent three nights at this site which is in a wonderful location with beautiful sea views on the Roseland Peninsula. The site is within easy walking distance of two small villages, each with pubs serving food and within walking of a beach. Perfect in every way except for the toilet and shower facilities which I am certain would be under pressure if the site was full. The facilities were very basic and not enough of them. However, for those wanting to appreciate the views and the peace and quiet, I would recommend it.
