Despite some awful weather at the start of our stay, we really enjoyed our time at Doubletrees. The campsite is well-maintained with very clean washing facilities. Majority of sites are level, with some tent sites on a slight slope. Owner Sue is lovely, couldn't be more helpful. Although there's no specific playground for kids, none is really needed as there's plenty of room for kids to play own games. Campsite is well located for Eden Project, Par, St Austell, Charlestown, Fowey, Mevagissey and all the beautiful beaches in the area. Good value too - recommend.

We stayed here for 2 nights on route to Lands End. Beautiful setting, lovely view. Good clean washrooms with plenty of hot water. Exceptionally friendly owner. We will definitely be back and not just for a short break next time happy to stay longer. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a peaceful tranquil setting.

We booked 10 days at this site. When we turned up the view was amazing the pitches all of a decent size and level. Although there were some areas for tents on a slight slope. The toilets were nice and clean with good hot water and notokens/coins needed. Very good laundry room and wash up area. The hosts were lovely which became more apparantly when unfortunately we had to leave 5 days early. The lady who owned the site very kindly refunded us for the rest of our stay. We did not ask for it and she did not need to do it but did anyway. It was well received as our 43 year old campervan had broken down earlier the day before. Great site we will definitely be back. Thank you.
The cable family.

This is a gem of a site, even though it looks basic which it is it's excellent value for money, owned by a lovely lady and her dad.
The view over St Austell bay is beautiful, and everyone has one, Some of the other caravanners who were regulars and made you feel welcome giving you hints and tips of where to go and even the best way home avoiding the road works.
The toilets were always clean with plenty of free hot water(could have done with a full length mirror on the bare back wall) A privacy cubicle with a sink and toilet, good pot washing room, and there was a laundry which I didn't use,
It was a pity the nearest pub wasn't so like a vault and games room because it was although a up hill return, a walkable distance.
Good easy drive and distance to everywhere in Cornwall and if you walk to the Eden Project up the back lane you get a £4 discount,
Large dog exercise field,
Although there wasn't any play ground or facilities, lots of safe fields and beaches nearby to go

Stayed at this site for 2 nights.
Pitches where of a good size and had full services at each plot. Views are fantastic. Information on all local attractions available at reception and owners very informative for local walks for us to take with our dog.
Toilet block spotless and plenty of hot water.
Petrol station at bottom of lane had small supermarket with basic supplies and newspapers.
Pub next to garage, the four lords, recently taken over by new landlord, is very friendly and serves food. Local bus service also runs along bottom of lane.
Would definitely return.

We've just returned from a 4-night stay at this delightful site. The lady who runs the site with her father couldn't have been nicer and more helpful. The facilities were very clean and well maintained. The grounds were very tidy and well-groomed. It's a tiered site with a tarmacked road, and we had a beautiful view over St Austell Bay. There was even free Wifi, accessed at the house. There was a booster, but because of the tiers unfortunately it doesn't reach every pitch. Buses outside the gate or down in the village, but we walked a very hilly walk to Eden and back (approx. 1 mile). We will definitely stay here again if we come to this part of Cornwall again, and I would thoroughly recommend it, just don't follow TomTom's directions to it, go to St Blazeys Gate - access from there is pretty good.

Very pleased with this site. It is open all year and although the surface is grass there are hard foundations underneath. Ideal for heavy units in winter months.
The enthusiastic site owners were very friendly and helpful. The facilities were clean.
It is just a short walk to the local garage which has a mini market and stocks most of what you need. A short drive takes you into St. Austell for more serious shoppers.
The site is very close to Eden Project and there is plenty more to see and do in the area.

What a fantastic site. Great views. Well kept grounds, grass cut. Toilets you could not find a fault spotless. The site is run by the owner and her father, very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much, if they can help you they will, great family run site. We will be going back next year. Its about 20mins walk to Eden and you can save £4 each if you walk or bike there. So if your looking for a nice clean friendly camp site just try this one. We will see you again next year. Thanks for a great holiday.

Set 1 ½ miles back from coast but at elevated position (100m) the site affords magnificent views over St Austell Bay and surrounding coastal countryside and villages.
The site comprises large grass pitches in a South facing terraced field. The facilities block is functional and clean but basic with no heating, but with site fees are only £ 15. 00/night (cash or cheque - only). Various breeds of chickens roam freely around the site (no problems with bird poo due to the size of the site). Owners have set aside on large paddock for exercising dogs that proved very convenient due to lack of public footpaths in the immediate area.
Nearest convenience shop, takeaway and pub is 300m from site at St Blazey Gate along fairly busy country lane (Luxulyan Road). Heading North for ½ mile the lane take you directly to the Eden Project which offers a £4.00/person discount if you visit on foot or bike!
Peaceful location and an ideal base for visiting the Eden Project.

Just got back from 2 weeks at Doubletrees, what a fantastic site.
The Owner Sue runs the place with her dad and they are Very Warm, friendly and helpful, just lovely.
The site is tiered with sea views and large pitches and well drained, in fact the best pitches we have ever had, I would go so far as to say the best campsite we have been to. Prices are really good too. The toilet block is kept very clean and there was always hot water no matter what time of day you wanted a shower. There are 4 showers and 4 toilets and a large toilet and sink for mums and tots or people needing a little extra room, in the ladies. The Laundry room has sinks for hand washing, a washing machine and dryer, all easy to use. Sinks for washing up are under cover so you stay nice and dry if bad weather. The campsite is quiet during the day and at night all is quiet from 10-10. 30, which is wonderful, so you get a good nights sleep. There were chickens roaming freely (with babies) whilst we were there which was lovely. There is plenty of space for children to play safely.
The site is 15-25 mins walk from The Eden Project depending on your pace, the route is along the country road then via a footpath and comes out right opposite Eden. The other direction is the local village only about 5-10mins walk and you have a chippy, shop for basics and a pub, which serve the best chips ever. There is an Asda and Tesco not far away and if you want Sainsburys then Truro is about 20-25 mins away.
We had a wonderful 2 weeks and found that it was close enough to get to the main roads to visit all parts of Cornwall, we went as far as Lands End and up as far as Tintagel/Crackington Haven. Locally there is Fowey, Mevagissey, Charlestown, Porthbean beach is the closest which is great, with cheap parking at £3 per day or £2 after 2pm, there is a steepish hill down to beach which has toilets and cafe, which is resonably priced. Rocks pools galore so don't forget your net and bucket, mix of sand and pebbles and no sudden drops in the water, so great for little ones.
Port Issac is worth a visit, fab little place, and Minack Theatre is spectacular. Heligan gardens aren't far away and are really lovely, and if you like mazes check out Glendurgan Gardens.
All in all a great site and position. Highly recommend this site and we will definitely be going again.
