Spent 2 nights on site with the express intention of visiting Eden Project, which was a 20 minute walk away.
The site itself is very pleasant set on terraces on a hillside. Pitches very spacious and all with views to die for of St Austell bay. Worth a return visit just for the views!
Owners and staff very welcoming.
Small amenity block, kept very clean and the only minor criticism are the push-button showers which are almost on long enough to allow you to get damp!
Local amenities like the pub and filling station convenience store within easy walking distance; as is the bus stop. Although it seems that the St Austell buses are going to be re-routed along the coast road away from the site most of the time, so it will pay to have an alternative to public transport.

My parents have visited this site for many years and as this was our first camping trip we decided we'd go there as we knew the site.
Lovely level pitches, and plenty of space. We had a sea view from ours which was a bonus!
The electric hook ups were too far for our lead to reach so we had to borrow an extension lead.
Facilities were nice and clean, although I found the showers a little too hot so couldn't use them for my young children.
Great location for exploring Cornwall, it is possible to walk to the beach, but really it's a 5 min drive.
Really great value for money, cost us £20 per night for 2 adults, 2 children and 1 dog.

Directions to the campsite are good and helped further by signage on the road. Friendly reception. Quite a few more caravans than tents and it appears that some caravans are stored there for the winter.
We were directed to a lower field (or by the hedge on the left as you come in) as we were told it would be quiet and we would have the field to ourselves. Which we did until the following night. This field seemed to be favoured by dog walkers but they all kept away from the tent so that was fine.
There was quite a bit of road noise from the A309(?) so not as quiet as it first appeared. And on the first night someone in a caravan was listening to loud music but they left the following morning. We had some sea views from the tent which was great. I guess most pitches do have views as it the campsite is on several levels.
There was one toilets / showers / washing up / launderette block, next to recycling and bin facilities. We never had to wait for the showers - I guess this is because most people camped in caravans and used their own.
There was plenty of hot water (in fact it was too hot to stand under a lot of the time in the ladies showers, hubby said his was OK). You could plug in your own hairdryer. There were hooks on the doors in the showers as well as a basket to put your toiletries in which was great. Everything was spotless.
You can walk to the Eden project in about 25-30 minutes (turn right as you are leaving the campsite) - there is no pavement or path next to the road for most of the way so care must be taken. Use the first gate to Eden which is locked as otherwise you add another 10 minutes walk through the car park.

Great Site good clean toilet block with privacy wash areas, good showers wash up area and laundry. Our pitch had EHU and water. Nice views to the sea about 2/3 miles. You can walk to the Eden centre in about 15 minutes well worth a visit they seem to introduce new things each year a Mediterranean café will be completed soon. A short walk to the village with a petrol station shop that had everything you would need papers milk bread etc. A nice pub which served food we ate there and it was good. Outside the pub was a bus stop into St Austell and other small villages on the coast.

My Husband and I have just got back from a weeks stay at this site, it is very well located. Local Pub (Four Lords) and 2 take aways 5 min walk. The site is stepped and most pitches have lovely views of the sea and Fowey. The owners are very friendly along with their Chickens and pet dog. Its a nice quiet site with only 30 pitches. The Toilet block is very clean and the showers are free and hot in the ladies but a little cold in the mens, according to my husband. There is a clothes washing area and a dish washing area which are both clean and tidy. There is a large field to exercise your dog. The Four Lords Inn (5 min walk) is a very friendly pub that have a very wide Menu with a 2 for 1 offer between 6-7pm. Their food is excellent quality with big portions. The Landlord and Landlady are very friendly. The Fish and Chip shop is nice but be warned, it closes at 8pm every night. We had Chicken and Chips (£4. 50ish each) there is also a Chinese Take away but the food was not up to standard (very salty) There is a Asda and Tescos 5min drive away. Charlestown and Fowey are both well worth a visit. The site is also less than a mile from The Eden Project. It took us 20mins walk (I'm a slow walker)to get there and 30min to get back (there are a few steep hills but not too many). We will definitely be returning. Great Holiday! XX

This is a really nice well laid out site on about 3 levels. The view from any level is really good.
The pitch sizes are good.
The toilet and shower blocks are really clean
The hosts are very helpful and friendly
It's about 25 minute walk to the Eden Project which is well worth a visit. There is a substantial discount for walkers.
The site is close to pubs and shops.
The nearest beach is about 2-3 miles.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this site. And, no hesitation in going back for another visit.
We loved it.

As we hadnt been camping for quite a few years we were feeling a bit dubious,,how wrong could we be. What a lovely smallish campsite it is. Showers and toilets lovely and clean and never busy, wasn't even busy at 3.30 am when my daughter decided she needed a wee!
Lots of water taps around and was very quiet at night even though it was quite busy. We ate at the Britannia just down the road and the food was nice and it had a bouncy castle outside which was great for the kids.
Being in England we couldn't predict the weather which was our only downfall. Rain, otherwise a fantastic few days

Lovely site, great sea views of st.austell bay/par, very friendly owners dennis & sue
Who are very helpful. We must also mention 'ben the dog' who was friendly and funny! (but please drive carefully because ben being a sheep dog likes to round up solo vehicles!)
Toilets/showers- clean, tesco's & asda 5-10 mins drive away. Plenty of leaflets available in reception area. Will definitely return next year
A little gem of a site!

We really liked this site. It is a sort of terraced field, with water and electricity and regular intervals, and marvellous views over the bay. There weren't many people when we arrived, so we had lots of space and choice of pitch.
The owners were very helpful. We suffered a burnt-out clutch and the owner's son fixed it for us very quickly and helped us arrange a hire car in the interim. We had to stay a day longer than planned, but it was a great place to be stranded. There is so much to see and do in the area. It is particularly convenient for the Eden Project.
The shower block was clean.
It is a short walk down the road to the village which has a post office/general store, pub that does food and takeaway. There are bigger supermarkets in St Austell, just a short drive away.
Just one thing - it can be very windy.
We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here as we were going to the Eden Sessions, at the Eden Project and this site is really close by.
It's a great little camp site. We stayed on a busy weekend and although one couple did decide to pitch a little too close for comfort we didn't feel overly claustrophobic.
The site is slightly sloped, especially on the part we pitched on - against the hedge, but there were flatter hard standing pitches for caravans and also camper vans.
The toilets and showers are single sex and were very clean the whole weekend - despite it being very busy. There was plenty of room and I didn't have to queue really. The showers were a little too hot really and I did hear one lady ask the staff if they could be turned down as they were too hot for children.
We decided to pitch quite far up the main camping area so we were a bit far away from them but that was our choice as it meant we had a great view of the sea and the beach at Par.
There aren't many facilities i.E. Shops etc in Par itself but there is a big Tesco in St Austell which is just up the road.
Overall a great site, nicely spaced out pitches, relaxing, lovely views and nice loos and showers. What more could you ask for!?!
