Nice and easy to get to - met by friendly owners - who gave valuable information on area. The site was very clean and tidy, well laid out good sized roads throughout the site (for turning etc)

Showers and washing facilities excellent nice and clean, very hot water, dishwashing / washing machine facilities excellent also. Site was well lit through the evening.

Adequate electric points throughout the site as were the 'standpipes' for water

Lovely little site with views of the sea albeit some distance away. There were no hard standings but the owners said we wouldn't get stuck as the grass was growing on top of a hardcore base. This proved to be the case and we had no trouble with our pitch even though it was pretty wet. Lovely clean shower and toilet block and well equipped laundry room. The owners of the site (Dennis and Eileen) are absolutely delightful and nothing was too much trouble for them. Would definitely stay here again - £15 per night with hook up and a pretty good view too.

If you stay here walk down to the local pub (The Four Lords)and try the food - it was home cooked and reasonably priced - friendly landlord too

Great little site, very friendly owners and excellent value for money. We paid for electric but struggled to find a pitch with a hook up that wasn't on top of someone else, so we did without in the end.

Ok toilet block, a little dated, but basically clean. Not sure it was heated, so may get chilly out of summer.

There was a field just below the main site which there was a very noisy caravan on and later a large group of campers, although didn't bother us.

We booked primarily as it was close to the Eden Project, which is literally a 20-25 minute walk if you're an adult and that's to the visitor centre. Worth noting that you can now pay once at Eden and get your ticket validated for a year, so no need to cram it all in one day.

We stayed at Doubletrees in our big old Cabanon tent between the 28th of June to the 4th July. First time visitors to this site and we will be going back. The site is well laid out in quiet surroundings just above Blazey, over looking Par bay. You can see for miles on a clear day. It is clean and very well maintained by the owners Dennis and Eileen and their daughter.

There are two or three tiers to the site so everyone gets to enjoy the view. A tidy tarmac service road passes around the site on every level. The showers are included in the tariff (so no meters)and always clean and tidy with soap, paper hand towels and toilet rolls well stocked. The shower blocks are quarry tiled non-slip floors with white tiled walls, tidy, practical and easy to maintain. Three or four basins and ample toilet cubicles. Three washing up double drainer sinks at the end of the shower block are tidy and always clean. There is a disabled toilet and well appointed laundry room,(coin wash and dry). Never any shortage of hot water any time of day.

We arrived before the school holidays so the site was not too busy and had a choice of 2 or 3 hooked-up pitches. There are 2 fields put aside at the bottom of the site for dog walking areas and they are large.

Over all you could not ask for anymore from a site with nicer people and in such a good location. Local places to go include- The Eden Project, Mevagissy, Fowey, Par Sands, Carlyon Bay Beach.(dogs allowed all year on Par and Carlyon Beaches. Don't forget poo bags for the dogs). Fowey has a few nice eateries and public houses but the walk back up to the car park will test some, but worth a quiet evening out. In the village below the site there are small shops and a BP garage with well a stocked shop, a reasonable chinese take-away (not the best we've had). Post office, Fish and chip shop all with in 5-6 minutes of the site on foot. Be very careful of walking down the lane to the village with children as the site entrance is on a bad bend and some people do speed down this road.

Everything you could want is handy. Tesco 5-7 mins away by car and Asda on the left of the road in to St Austell at the round-about near Homebase. There are a couple of very welcoming pubs in the village also with food served, although we never ate at either of them.If it is raining there is a 'kids world' for toddlers & upwards with under cover crazy golf just on the way to St Austell near the Cornish market, which can break up a rainy day for the kids. A Great base to travel around Cornwall and explore. Good site, no noise with every creature comfort around you should you need it. Fantastic people and very welcoming. We only wish all sites were this nice. Can't wait till we head back and explore some more.

This is a lovely quiet site in a great position on a hill with sea views. Reception was friendly and relaxed and we could choose where we wanted to pitch. Plenty of leaflets about local attractions and advice from the owner.

The toilet and shower block is very clean. The showers are spacious and there is plenty of free hot water. The ladies' area included a power point for hairdryer / straighteners with a vanity mirror, shelf and a small vase of silk flowers -a lovely touch.

The pitch was level and grassed. It rained quite a bit while we were there but there didn't seem to be a problem with water logging. We had a water tap on our pitch and could put our hose on and take water on. A grey water disposal point would have been useful.

The site is within 5 minutes of a local pub, small supermarket and various cafes / takeaways although we didn't use any of these. We walked to Charlestown (in the rain!) along the main road. Busy and noisy but there is a pavement all the way. Took about 40 minutes. There is a good pub halfway to Tesco's which served ok food and shows Sky / Setanta sports events on several screens. Charlestown is well worth a visit, particularly the Shipwreck museum which entertained our two girls (13 & 10) on a wet miserable day.

Also walked to the Eden Project. Took 15-20 minutes as mentioned but this is only to the entrance. It's then another 15-20 minutes to reach the visitor centre where you actually go in! No pavement along this road and it's quite busy so it could be a worry with small children. Having said that, it's a great day out - so much more than plants and flowers. And we saved about £16 by walking rather than driving!

We only stayed here for two days but will definitely return for our next visit to Cornwall. A bus runs along the main road to St Austell (5 mins walk away) and you can get to lots of good places without having to pack up and go in the van.

This is a really wonderful site and deserves to be much more popular out of the August peak season. Pitches are spacious and all on grass and mostly level, and those on the upper terraces have good sea views over St Austell bay.
Doubletrees is a quiet family site with a really good toilet and shower block which was recently built in the last few years. In fact it's one of the best that I've come across.
There are ample male and female showers and WC's, and there is a laundry room with commercial appliances and a washing-up area with 3 sinks. Dennis and his daughter Sue, keep these facilities spotlessly clean. The site is very quiet and peaceful and yet just a few hundred yards from the main road into St Austell, with Mevagissey and Fowey just a short drive away and the Eden Project within walking distance.
For shopping, Tescos is just a 5 minute drive from the site and Asda about 8 minutes. This is a perfect site for exploring mid-Cornwall and I can thoroughly recommend it.

Fantastic site. The site is on a hill (terraced so level pitches) and the views overlooking st Austell Bay are stunning and made it for us. The site is not large and takes tourers and tents (no statics). The facilities are smart and clean-4 toilets and 4 showers and 4 sinks with socket for any hair appliances you may take. Showers are always warm and are free. Good dish washing facilities too.
On arrival the site owner was very friendly and informal. We stayed in the overflow field as it was busy and I am glad as we had unrestricted views of wonderful sea beyond hills. The large overflow field is also dog walkies field which suited us too. The site is part of a working farm but you are not aware of this unless you go beyond the boundaries of the camp site.
Down the road there is a mini mart, cafe, chip shop, chinese, pub and petrol station (they say 300 yards but its up hill on way back and there is no pavement). This is a lovely traditional camp site, not Pontins, no rowdy teenagers or childrens play areas, just nice people out to enjoy a good holiday in Cornwall.
This was a real find and I shouldn't really be telling you all about it as I want to make sure we can get in there again!

What a lovely site! We moved here from a waterlogged and noisy site and wished we'd come here first!

The toilets, dishwashing area and laundry were all spotlessly clean even in horrendous weather. The owners were very friendly and accommodating and worked hard to keep the site tidy. The ladies toilets had liquid soap and paper towels and a doormat to keep out the worst of the wet.

A tarmac road circles the site and the ground is well drained.

We were able to pitch our tent in the shelter of a hedge but still had good views out to sea. The reflection of the moonlight on the sea was something I'll remember for a long time!

Within easy walking distance were a lovely cafe/takeaway, a Chinese takeaway, a garage with Premier shop, a post office and general store (not very well stocked) and a pub serving excellent reasonably priced food. The Eden Project is also within walking distance. St Austell with both ASDA and TESCO - both 24hrs - is a 5 minute drive away.

Everyone on the site was friendly and considerate and we had a peaceful, pleasant week in spite of daily rain.

This is a lovely family run site with beautiful surroundings. It was a delight to be able to pitch the tent with a view of the sea. The owners were very friendly and helpful and provided lots of local information.

The toilet block and shower areas were very well kept and were cleaned several times a day. The site was tidy and well kept, although the small bins dotted around the site weren't emptied every day, so they became full quite quickly.

There is a local pub and post office shop within 5 minutes walk, and also a cafe doing very reasonably priced food.

This was a fantastic site and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

What a fantastic site this is. We have just spent 4 nights here in this beautiful site. The owners are very friendly and helpful (even Ben the dog came to greet us and played with our dog).

Everything is spotlessly clean and well maintained. We walked to the Eden Project which is only 15 minutes up the road. It's £10 per person if you walk or ride a bike and £14 if you go by car, however you do get a free years admission for the price and I'm sure we will visit again.

There is a petrol station/shop 5 minutes down the road as well as a post office and store.

The views from the site are lovely over Par sands.

Only £15 per night for 3 adults, the dog and EHU so this is truly worthwhile. I didn't really want to tell anyone about the site in case I can't get in next time we stay.
