Couple - early 50's - look for peace, quiet and tranquillity, but with a few mod cons.
Stayed 2 nights - Fri 10/06 to Sun 12/06
Plus 2 nights - Fri 01/07 to Sun 03/07
Cost - 2 adults + Tent + Car + EHU £18pn (no reduction for non-EHU).
This is more of a confirmation update than an actual review, as I've done two previously, and nothing has changed. Which is a good thing. A very good thing!
Absolutely love everything about this site. Brilliant location for our cycling needs. Immaculately kept. Wonderful relaxing atmosphere. And Dennis the owner is as welcoming and amiable as ever.
After a reluctant 4 month lay off from camping, we had no qualms about making this site our No1 choice for our comeback camp. And again, just 3 weeks later, so that's now 6 weekends in total for us, over 3 consecutive summers.
If anything, the site was a little quieter on these latest two visits, but we did have rain on 5 of those 6 days on site, and the likes of Chapel, Skeggy and Mablethorpe all seemed a tad quieter too, so presumably simply down to less than ideal weather conditions for the time of year?
All things considered, I'm struggling to think of a site we enjoy visiting more than this, and we've been to (and will return to) some wonderful sites.
We now find ourselves 'forcing' ourselves to go elsewhere, just to avoid becoming 'Stuck in a rut'. But it's not easy, when we know we could just come here, for a risk free break away!
My only regret is that a certain someone insists on bringing our bikes. I wish I had taken up fishing, so I could spend more time on this wonderful site, and let her go off on her own!

Took a chance on this site as there is no website, however the reviews seemed favourable so booked a weekend and we were glad we took the chance as the site was wonderful and peaceful. Dennis the owner was really helpful and was always going around making sure everything was ok, the pitch he gave us was more than enough for our large tent and two cars. The toilet facilities were nice and clean and enough for the amount of persons the campsite holds. There were plenty of places to eat in nearby chapel st Leonards and with Ingoldmells and Skegness also within driving distance there is no shortage of things to see and do. However if you didn't fancy going anywhere you could just sit around the fishing pond in the middle of the campsite and fish or just relax and watch the fish, our favourite time was in the evening when the fish would be active and jump out of the water to catch insects. The only drawback is that the nearest large supermarkets are in Skegness but this is only a minor niggle as there is a Co op in Chapel and a Tesco Express in Ingoldmells. All in all We would recommend this site to others and would definitely go back again.

ABSOLUTELY GREAT. My wife and I stayed there the last week in June. Had an amazing stay, Dennis is very friendly, comes over to chat with you and makes sure everything is ok, he even tried some of my wife`s home made flapjack lol this site is very well maintained and clean and quiet, enough room for our big tent with plenty of room between us and our neighbours, we had pitch 8 and was great for us, as had shade in the morning and sun the rest of the day/evening.
He has a static caravan for rent at very reasonable rates, cheaper than most other big sites around the area, its clean and had it put in about 3 years ago. Dennis can not do enough for you, when we were there, there was a power cut, so he put in a generator so we all had electricity. If you are a fisher then this is ideal, has a big pond in the middle, and the fish are huge. The pitches are sited around the pond so you can see every one fishing and the size of the fish they get out of it.
Will and have already recommend to everyone I know that goes camping/ caravanning that this is the place to stay, its quiet, has a nearby pub and shop within walking distance, and if you want something more lively then you get in your car and 10 minutes later you have it. Will definitely be going back.
THANKS FOR A WONDERFUL STAY.

(Couple - late 40's/early 50's - look for peace, quiet and tranquillity, but with a few mod cons).
Stayed 2 nights - Fri 10/7 to Sun 12/7
12 months on from our first visit, I thought it polite to give an update.
We returned a few weeks after our first visit, last summer, and again two weeks ago, so this latest visit is now our 4th, but it won't be our last! All have been two-night weekender's, all booked by 'phone just a few days before our Friday arrival.
Dennis, the owner, is still very accommodating and welcoming, and the site is as immaculately kept as ever, be that the facilities, the grass, or the shrubs/trees/hedges/pond etc. A very tidy site.
Always a tent or two in amongst the caravans. All cosy enough to get to know your neighbours if you so wish, but spacious enough to keep yourselves to yourselves, if that's your preference. We're somewhere in between!
You all face the fishing pond, which seems to add to the ambience, despite not being an angler myself.
Word on the street is that there are a lot of returning visitors, and we now include ourselves in that. We love the site, the people on it, and the easy, flat cycling in and around the area, which includes the sea-front at and either side of Chapel.
Our only regret is that it isn't an all-year round site, closing for winter, and we just seem to be so busy in the summer, that we may only stay here a couple of times a year. But stay again, we will.
Thanks for having us, Dennis.
Ian & Vanessa.

Just got back from a week at ivy lodge. What a gem of a site with a lovely fishing pond in the middle with pitches going around it. Plenty of fish if you like fishing But if not the views are breath taking. Dennis the owner is very helpful and friendly even lent us extra cable when our hook up was to short, nothing was to much trouble. The toilets and shower is spotless with plenty of hot water and toilet roll. On site Dennis has a static caravan which he rents out its lovely inside. Their are too lovely pubs in the village, a spar shop and a beautiful little tea room.

What a lovely well kept site. All the pitches are facing a small lake with carp in, we didn't fish but watched plenty of people have lots of catches.
Dennis who owns the site is always about keeping on top of things, the toilets and showers were spotless and always well stocked.
This site really is a hidden gem and we'll definitely be back.

We have just arrived back from a two night stay at Ivy Lodge. It is a small, friendly site, with excellent toilet and shower facilities, there is also a small kitchen area. I can only echo all the other reviews. It is immaculately kept. The pitches are large, so everyone has plenty of space. The owner is very friendly and welcoming offering his help in any way he can. It is a small, quite and peaceful site, great for a complete break. There are plenty of fish to catch, although we don't fish it was relaxing to sit and watch. The village shop is well stocked, with everything you might need. We didn't venture far, but there are plenty of places to visit, within easy reach. This site was a real find, and I would definitely recommend a stay here, we will be booking again, hopefully soon.

This was our first time at this site; we were very happy. Dennis (owner) is very friendly & helpful he takes a lot of pride in running the site. No problems pitching up large area. Very clean facilities. My children met some lovely children playing on the swings. The site is central location to most attractions skegness; chapel st lenoards; mablethorpe; lots within easy reach.
Would like to thankyou for a hassle free break and we enjoyed some laughs with dennis & other happy campers. Top value :)
I will be highly recommending & would return.

It's our 3rd year visiting this wonderful site. It's a small friendly site with good clean facilities, pitches are well spaced and level. Very sheltered with matured and neatly trimmed hedges. Dennis (the owner) takes a personal pride in the well manicured grass areas and borders are well maintained. Shower and toilets are modern, spacious and cleaned daily. All pitches are around the pond which is well stocked for some excellent fishing. There is a small play area for children which are welcomed but must be supervised due to the pond. The local village is 5 minutes walk and has a convenience store, farm shop and a couple of pubs (try the Victoria Tavern) access to the site is good and the location is ideal for Ingoldmells, Chappel St Leonard's, Mablethorpe and Skegness. To sum up rain or shine this is our haven and will return for many years to come.

This was our first visit to Ivy lodge and certainly won't be our last. The facilities are very clean and very adequate, we were met at the gate and shown to our pitch by Dennis (owner) who is a very approachable friendly guy and sorted out a small problem straight away (no hook up cable). It is a small site everyone seemed to know each other and in fact most people had been coming for years, it's a very quiet site with a well stocked pond for those of us who enjoy fishing. All pitches are grass and very level can't wait for our next visit.
