Visited this part of the world for the first time this month and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We took a very large tent and our 3 children 4,6 & 7 for 8 days. We chose this site as it appeared to be quiet but close enough to Skegness etc if we chose to go somewhere more lively.
We were not disappointed. The site itself was fantastic, Denis the owner was lovely and friendly and never stopped cleaning and pruning and tidying the site and the shower / toilet block. The shower block had been revamped recently and was excellent. However he still seemed to find the time for a chat. He was always available to offer advice on where to go and to lend a hand. We will be returning soon.
The site seemed to be aimed at fishing guests rather than young families but we were never made to feel unwelcome or in the way. The opposite was true if anything and our eldest managed to catch a fish or two before the end of the week.
We took the largest pitch on site but still had plenty of room around us and our nearest neighbours were far enough away for our children not to disturb them. The pitches were very flat and well kept.
All in all a very pleasant stay at an excellent site.

We would recommend it to everyone, it cost us £42 for 3 nights in our tent including electricity. The site only has 14/15 pitches and is just the right size as all the pitches whether caravans, motorhomes or tents sit round the edge and face the pond in the middle which is full of fish so if you are a fisherman or woman get your gear out because you will love it.
It is a really nice surrounding to relax and the facilities are fairly new with one free shower for men and one for the ladies and also four toilets (two men and two ladies) but with the small amount of pitches its maybe just right. There is also a washing up room with lots of hot running water. The important thing is that they are very clean and get looked after daily.
The park site doesn't have a lot to keep the young children busy, there is a swing in the corner only.
The owner is a man called Dennis and he was very friendly being positioned in a house as you drive in, we saw him a few times during the our stay but didn't need him at all so didn't need to see him at all.
The site is very quiet and is far away from the road not to hear any road noise at all.
There is the village of Hogsthorpe about a mile away which should be about a 10-15 minute walk, this has a pub which was recommended to have very good traditional home cooked food but we didn't get chance to try it. Also in the village is a Post Office that sells gas bottles and the usual essentials such as groceries, papers etc.
Within a few miles drive is Chappel St Leonards which should have everything you should need, a Co-op Supermarket and Spar along with a Chinese takeaway, Fish & Chip Shop, Indian restaurant and Takeaway. The campsite is about five miles from Ingoldmells (which has a very good camping accessory shop if you forget anything!) and six miles from Skegness which if you don't know is the East Coast Las Vegas - there's everything there! We would definitely tell everyone to use this campsite as it was very clean, well kept and an ideal location.

This was our very first camping trip, we were both excited and apprehensive about the whole ordeal. But not only did we choose the right weekend (hot, sunny, blue skies) we also chose a beautiful small haven near Skegness. A small campsite consisting of a family home owned by Dennis and his family, the owner of the campsite, one static caravan and a small fishing lake in the centre. Dennis was more than helpful, a friendly chap who seemed to enjoy his daily tasks. A couple named John and Linda who obviously used the camp almost permanently and helped Dennis keep an eye on things, and a chicken named charlie! It was obvious from the start it was definitely a fishing campsite, although most of the people we spoke to didn't fish at all. Most of these people obviously used this campsite on a regular basis, and I cant blame them. We will definitely be coming back here, the peace and tranquillity was amazing, a small village with a shop and a pub just down the road. There's even a bus that goes into Skeggy. The only downside, I think, was the toilet block, although extremely clean and well maintained, could possibly do with some updating and a new shower cubicle wouldn't go amiss. But on the up, Dennis has incorporated a fridge freezer on the ladies side for the campers, which is a brilliant idea. A definite thumbs up for this campsite. How lucky were we?

What can I say, we came to Lincolnshire for a week staying at Haven's Golden Sands and then one night at Ivy Lodge. What a comparison, Golden Sands was noisy, busy and unfriendly; Ivy Lodge is the total opposite, we came to the site while the owner Dennis was still at work and were welcomed by regulars Lynda and John who couldn't make too much of a fuss of my two young children, the youngest of which was having his 4th birthday that day and it will be a day to remember Linda and John showed the boys how to fish, we had birthday cake on the lawn by the best fishing pond I have ever seen. The site is very clean and well appointed we couldn't ask for more. We went out later for tea and on our return met Dennis the owner who wandered over when I was by the pond while Lisa got the boys to bed. Previous reviews don't lie and Dennis was a charming friendly chap. Needless to say we have already booked to come again and I have a feeling it will be again and again. Next time I will be bringing my fishing gear and the boys want some too. This site has made such an impression I haven't even waited to get home to submit a review!

Just got home after yet another magic weekend at Ivy Lodge. Me and my wife Bev absolutely adore this little gem of a campsite. Dennis the owner is a real star nothing is too much trouble, the site is spotless and the fishing is excellent. The pub is about a 10 min walk, serving out of this world meals that are cheap as chips Only downside is we have to come home.

We have just returned from our second visit to Ivy Lodge. This site is our favorite and we cant wait to get back there. Dennis the owner is a complete gentleman and will help in anyway. We have four young lads and at the rear of the site Dennis has a large field where kids can play, or you can just sit around the pond and chill. If your looking for that little bit of peace and quiet then this could be for you.

We have returned from our Easter break earlier today and felt driven to submit a review, and say hang to the washing! We drove 6 hours to find a small haven, all we were looking for in a beautiful and very peaceful setting. Previous reviews stated the owner Dennis, is very helpful among other attributes and well, state as you find, I ain't arguing, the man is the soul of the site and looked after my daughter as if she were the paying guest. He was very relaxed about everything and so helpful in so many ways, there was no pressure to anything. We will be returning for sure and this site is now the first in my virtual brochure.

Our second visit to this site, and once again we had a wonderful stay. Very peaceful and friendly. the fish look a little bigger than last year, although we didn't fish this time. It didn't take long to unpack, get the awning up and the kettle on, due to the spacious level pitch overlooking the lake. We can't wait to return

This site will be good for some and not for others. The site has 12 pitches but only one mens toilet and only one mens shower. The shower is very small- 50 pence a time, and when using the toilet your knees touch the toilet door. There are two small sinks. This is all compacted into a Portaloo type caravan. There is no hot water or washing up sinks for pots. The site is very clean and tidy and the pitches are of good size. If you want peace and quiet this is the site for you. The owner tends to be a bit fussy about anything happening in the evening and won't hesitate to ask you to keep it quiet. This site is ideal for people who are very quiet and go to bed early. There is nothing there for children except the fishing. The fishing is not good from an anglers point of view because the small pool is so full the fish will go for anything. The owner works very hard but for a certain type of visitor, the quiet early to bed type, if that's you then this place is ideal.
