Just got back from Ivy Lodge. If you like the peace and quiet or fishing, this is the site for you. We spent the first day on the beach at Chapel St Leonards. Miles and miles of beautiful sandy beaches. The second day I just fished and what a day I had. I caught loads of fish, common carp, two massive mirror carp, rudd and loads of tench. Out of the twelve pitches, between 7 & 9 fished during the day. Everyone caught fish and said what a fantastic plaice it was. At night you can hear a pin drop. You will not believe how quiet it is.

We have just got back from our second visit to Ivy Lodge. Cheers Dennis for putting the shower tray in makes it a lot easier to grab hold of things, IE: razor, shower gel, shampoo and most importantly I have somewhere to hang my little puff on. Apart from a few days hard rain it was great, so if anyone is thinking about holidaying in Skeggy, give this site a try you will not be disappointed. Dennis do me a favour, is it possible you could put a heated towel rail in as well. WINK WINK

This site was the first one I chose and I must say my boyfriend and I were well chuffed with our choice. The site is well secluded, in fact it was that well hidden we drove past it twice. It is situated within easy distance of Mablethorpe, Chapel St Leonards and of course Skegness. I dont like big caravan parks, and when you have been walking round all day amongst all the fairground music it was heaven when we got back.
The owner Dennis was most helpful and he keeps the site immaculate, attending to the grounds, keeping the toilets and showers spotless. There is plenty of hot water in the showers. Very pretty site with the fishing lake. All rubbish is emptied on a daily basis. For those who fancy a takeaway at night there is a place called TKs just past Butlins and they will take your order over the phone, and deliver it straight to the caravan park. There is also a lovely pub in the village of Hogsthorpe where they do very good value for money home cooked meals, and according to my boyfriend a good cheap pint. All of the staff and the Landlord and Landlady are very welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ivy Lodge and we hope to go back there soon. I only have one suggestion to Dennis the owner please could you put a tray in the shower so us ladies can put all our shampoos, soaps on etc. Otherwise 10 out of 10.

July 2005 Excellent, friendly and quiet. We had difficulty finding a 'tent friendly' site in this area, and this site fits the bill well. Just a short stretch of the legs to the local pub, which has very friendly staff, great atmosphere and superb food. very easy to drive to local attractions/amenities etc. looking forward to a return visit

May 2005 'A little gem'. This pretty, well-maintained site is great for those who look for peace and quiet when choosing somewhere to stay. No bar, nightclub,or rowdy people here! The very clean toilet/shower facilities are very adequate for the size of site and the 50p cost of a shower is worth every penny! There is also a large fridge/freezer for the use of guests which is very useful. The owner is very friendly and helpful and I would definitely return in the future.

May 2005 My girlfriend and I, along with two friends of ours stayed at Ivy Lodge camp site 28th-30th May 2005. To sum up the camp site, I would have to say FANTASTIC! The camp site owner (Dennis) couldn't be more helpful if he tried. A top bloke who will bend over backwards to help you.
The site itself is well maintained, excellent facilities, hot showers and a gorgeous fishing pond set in the middle of the camp site.
Would totally recommend the site for any keen fishermen. Oh the site also offers a static caravan on a weekly rental basis (also very nice).

August 2004 Fishing ... £4.00 a day, £10.00 for three days or £20.00 weekly ticket no night fishing... landing nets must be depped and rinsed before use... no keepnets, boilies, hemp, dog/cat food or biscuits. no floating bait, no ground bait... no trout pellets... only barbless hooks (no micro hooks) only one rod per person and it will be checked whilst you are there. Fishing for tench, common and mirror carp, rudd.
We arrived on Friday to find that the ground was a bit wet and the owner, Anna, contacted her husband who help us to move onto the site with tractor. While we waited she gave us coffee and a very warm welcome! There are 12 electric hook ups and 12 fishing pegs so you get your own peg, my hubby said it was excellent fishing although he found that you had to fish just under the surface and using only bread!
Shower and toilets were VERY clean and although the showers cost 50p (tokens from owner) they last for ages and the water can be as hot as you like! We were a bit worried because it is advertised as a very quiet site and we took two not very quiet 16 year olds with us! But they though it was really good and the lane just outside the site was great for skating on or using their electric scooters! The other people on the site were very friendly too which I think helps.
Hogsthorpe is a nice place the pub does a wonderfull Sunday lunch and the village post office/ shop is great for odds and ends. Chapel St Leonards is quite close and Ingoldmels and Skegness are just a short car ride away.
All in all I give this site a big 10 out of 10 so book early for next year and as Ive already told Anna we will be back for easter and probably for a week in the summer I had better warn you that this site will book up really quickly!! Enjoy but don't nick our pitch!!
