This was our first ever camping trip. We picked this park as were used to day trips to Dorset and as we picked a chillier time of year, the indoor facilities appealed to us so we would be able to escape any bad weather if necessary.
We stayed 2 nights and booked an extra large electric pitch (mainly down to that was all their website offered us) The staff when we arrived were very friendly, there was a little confusion as to what pitch we were on to begin with but it was sorted out quickly and calmly. The pitch itself was a brilliant size and we could have easily pitched on a smaller one. There were a few stingers which the boys got caught out by while they were playing and we were setting up but they quickly learnt to steer clear of that area.
The toilet and shower blocks were in good order, and clean. There was always hot water and soap in the hand dispensers.
The washing up area was always clean with hot water also.
We also used the chemical disposal point as we took a portable toilet with us for the children to use in the night which was easy to dispose of. We also had no issue with phone reception.
We have four young boys ranging from 8 to 3. They enjoyed playing on our pitch and the playground which was very close to where we were. Both nights we went to the 'disco' which the children loved and it was lovely and warm. The bar prices are steep! But on the second night we brought the children 'slushies' which do not look very appetising, but were soooo much cheaper and they thought they were brilliant as they are not normally allowed them and we brought crisps etc from the vending machine. Lesson learnt as it's was less than half the price of the first night. The seating area got quite busy, but the children's entertainers were lovely and happily danced along with them. The adult entertainment was amusing to watch!
The spar shop on site was great and very well priced in our opinion. There is also an additional co-op and spar in easy walking distance. We did not use the takeaways on site but did use the local fish and chip shop. (The first one you come to when walking) which was delicious!
The walk to the beach was lovely and well sign posted and my favourite bit. The best bit was half way there, there is an exercise area and football pitch on top of a hill which we had a pit stop at and had a brilliant time playing plus the views of the sea were lovely. The beach is pebbles but the children had a great time and it was just lovely to walk along and enjoy the sea air, there is a nice ice cream shop too.
The indoor swimming pool was just perfect for children, I would imagine for teenagers it would be a little dull but you get the use of the larger one with a lazy river at their sister park a very short walk away. The floor in the indoor pool did get quite muddy which was not as pleasant but the lifeguard /pool side assistant was very friendly and cleaned it all up when asked.
Check out is 10am but we went and spoke to the touring manager if there was any possibility to check out later as we were a little worried we wouldn't meet the time scale and he was ever so friendly and helpful, and allowed us to leave slightly later. I'm unsure how easy this would be to do high season but as I said they were very friendly an accommodating,
Overall for our first trip away with four young children it exceeded our expectations. I could have happily stayed a few extra nights to go swimming again, try out their sister park and go on more beach walks. The evening entertainment is not everyone's cup of tea but this was a family break and the children loved it and you are not forced to join in and it was great shelter from the weather and a way to ensure the boys were tired enough to sleep through the night!
We would return and found our two nights very good value for money, however looking at the summer holiday rates we have chosen a different site based on cost as the price is considerably higher. But then that's the fun of camping and being new to it it's exciting for all the family trying new places!

Went with my husband and two young girls (one and three years).
This was our 1st proper family camping holiday and I wasn't sure what to expect. Hardcore campers had been pretty negative when I mentioned where we were going as it wasn't a private site and was a 'holiday park'.
We got there a couple of hours early and thought we'd see if there was any chance of checking in. The warden was very helpful and told us to go ahead if the previous campers had left. We had booked a small pitch but still had room for our extension and car. The grass wasn't in the best condition and was pretty stoney. The pitches were all pretty close together and on the edge of a track so we couldn't let our girls run about, which was the only negative with regards to the child friendliness.
The toilet/shower/dish wash block was close without being too close and was modern and clean. The showers weren't great though - you had to pretty much keep your hand on the button and I used one that was scaldingly hot. Thankfully I didn't shower with the girls that night!
The shop was very useful and well stocked and the entertainment that we did manage to take the girls to was very good. The indoor pool was perfect for the toddlers - my 3 year old loved the slide and the 19 month old loved the walled off shallow pool. We tried the outdoor pool but it was unheated so pretty chilly!
This really was a great introduction to family camping holidays for us. In the days before our holiday the forecast wasn't looking good. We were actually lucky in that the weather was great, but we know we'd have been fine even if it had rained as the entertainment and facilities would've given us plenty to do.

We've just returned from a week here and had a lovely holiday - the glorious weather helped. This is not our type of site but as we had 4 teenagers in tow on this occasion we wanted something with a bit more going on, and haven are definitely good at that. They enjoyed indoor and outdoor pools on this site and the neighbouring Weymouth bay but probably didn't take advantage of the full entertainment available. We had large pitch on touring field which I was relieved about having read previous reviews. I'd booked in for motor home, awning and pup tent so was prepared to be annoyed if we didn't have enough room. We had plenty. Toilet block modern and clean but button for shower has to be pressed every 5 seconds to keep water flow and no curtain or stool in cubicle. Well stocked shop. Easy 15 min walk to beach and coastal path.

Just spent 7 days at Seaview. I felt a little bit disappointed that there was no green area for children (or adults) to play, the park map is misleading as it shows a large green area. Some of the pitches are very small, which meant tents are very close to their neighbour. Our pitch was a reasonable size, we asked to be sited next to our daughter, son in law and grandchildren, whilst we were quite close it was the other side of the road, which meant the kids constantly crossing, and us constantly telling them to watch out for cars. I felt like the camping area is the poor relation to the rest of the site, grass a bit rough, unmade roadway etc. Whereas the rest of the site has tarmac roads, nice grass and hedges. Toilet and shower block good, cleaned regularly and water hot. The entertainment could do with a rethink, Funstars are good and work very hard - Live acts just two nights a week, Monday - The Dreamers (of Freddie and the Dreamers) were very good, Friday - A group which in my opinion would have been better off playing at a festival. I do not recommend eating at the site, very expensive for what you get. There is a nice Pub nearby called the Bridge Inn.

We have just come back from a week at Seaview. The site itself is nicely situated but I must admit the hills are a bit daunting. We were on the bottom field with our tent and the Daughter, sister in law and Grandkids were with us. When we arrived the field seemed reasonably empty but by the time we came to depart (sat 6th July it as others have said resembled a festival field.
Haven don't seem to have got their live entertainment right. The Funstars do a great job but on Friday 5th July there was a Band. Ok in themselves but totally out of place in a Family orientated holiday park would have been more at home on a Festival site. I'm all for live music but pleeeeze Haven get the right type of band.
Perhaps they should possibly hire a DJ who is used to playing to all ages. As I have always thought people do like to get up and dance. Am I to old fashioned as in the past at holidays camps parks etc there would always be a band that people could dance to or am I living in the past as I say. The only ones who got up to dance were children of about 7/8. That's another thing should children be allowed on the floor at 2200hrs or later. I agree with what others have said regarding toilet block except the lock wouldn't work on the gents. In the end it was removed completely.

Have been twice before and could not praise it enough, especially the wardens. However this time a shock, 1st July one night cost us £32 for electric on grass but the pitches were so small and all full it was like a pop festival encampment. There is no high maintenance of grass so dried mud and dust, no hedges so no privacy or sound buffers. Sorry Haven but even with the wardens we will not be tempted back again to a pitch worth less than £10.
Also the reception could not even tell us the different season prices ! why ?

Returned for a couple of nights on 24th Oct as we had one night here Sat 12th May thanks to Kim & Steve squeezing us in on a corner of grass in a fully booked situation, as other sites were flooded out. So we found a fab site by default. Reasonable, very clean and well kept facilities right across the site.
Well, on departure my motorhome wouldn't start, so reception were great with a full list of garages for different makes of vehicles. We called Osmington Garage just up the road and Martin the owner arrived within 15 minutes. They were as good as 'SEAVIEW' efficient, reliable and great service and as pleasant as Kim & Steve who run the Touring site at Seaview.
It is important to know that using 'LOCAL' suppliers is the way forward.
Enjoy your winter break, will see you next year for those lovely easy walks into Weymouth and surrounding areas

Came back to visit old touring wardens as they gave outstanding service but they had left, very sad loss these were the best I've seen in 30yrs of touring. Park facilities not kept the same, pitches still have to push caravans onto some pitches. Bottom field muddy for tents and tourers,

We visited this Site 4 years ago and had a fantastic time staying on a euro pitch so we thought we would revisit on our way back from Cornwall. I now wish we would have stayed the extra 6 nights at perran sands.
The touring wardens were fantastic friendly and informative, we were offered the choice of 2 pitches on arrival, we chose an end pitch no. 30 which, without the help of fellow caravanners, we would never have got into perhaps my fault but why put pitches that you cannot get into.
It seems to me haven have crammed as many plots in as possible, there is not even enough room to park your car next to your pitch, it has to go in front of your van halfway on the narrow road. Some turrets are other side of the hedge for your pitch.
The entertainment in the live lounge was the worst we have experienced at haven.
But on a positive note the toilet block is modern and very nice. However this site cost substantially more for 6 nights than we paid for 10 nights in Cornwall. We shall not be returning.

There are many statics, crammed together on terraces, and a large field at the bottom level for us. We couldn't help the initial feeling that the touring and tenting was a poor relation. However, we were greeted by a most friendly lady warden, and given a lovely corner pitch. There were just four of us in the field.
Our (dedicated) toilet block was one of the most modern and cleanest we have ever seen, and the underfloor heating was a joy. Secure too. On a par with Shamba in the New Forest. I was even able to take a bath! - Take your own plug.
Entertainment on the first night was well below the standard set at Rockley, I felt a little sorry for the young lady Funstar (Bluecoat) who had to compete in the Karaoke contest! We left early.
The next night we drove next door to Weymouth Bay, the sister site where we can share facilities. This place appears to be Haven's Jewel in the Crown as the theatre, facilities and quality of entertainment were all first class.
By the way, there is no sea view, unless you camp outside the reception office.
