Good things about this site are the wardens were really helpful and friendly. They showed us to a pitch despite arriving at 10.30 (states arrivals after 12.00). They were visible every day day, cleaning toilet block and also picking up rubbish from around the site. There is also a freezer that you can use for your freezer packs. There are taps at every pitch too which is really helpful, no lugging around water containers.
Other than the wardens being absolutely brilliant I'm afraid that I was not really happy with the site.
The pitches were very uneven with holes and bumps and lumps everywhere. Whilst I have not been camping for long it seemed that there is little care given to the pitches. I noticed that the hard standing pitches were lovely so don't let me put off caravans and motor homes. However, the grass pitches just don't seem to have the same care given.
I noticed from previous reviews that the toilet block is new so expected a reasonable place to shower etc. However, it seems poorly planned and corners cut. I tried to bath my boys one night but could not get the plug out of the bath, the taps themselves were loose and there is a big hole where the overflow drain should be.
The showers! There is no where to leave your clothes and getting dressed is just a nightmare as the water gathers on the floor and gets your clothes wet when putting them on.
The electrical socket for hairdriers is loose, it seems that the hairdrier in the toilet is gone, the wire has been cut.
Arcade and club ok although they only seem to serve fizzy pop at the bar, no squash which is not good if you don't like to fill your kids with coke or lemonade all night.
The outdoor pool looks nice but we didn't go in as the indoor pool had bits floating in it and seemed a little bit 'murky' My eldest son complained after that his face was stinging from the chlorine.
We did not really use the other facilities much as the weather was so nice that we tended to go out for the day to the beach so I don't want to seem that I am saying this is a bad site, as I cannot comment on everything.
The playground is ok for older kids but is too high for little ones. There is a soft play area indoors but the older kids tend to jump all over the place in there, despite is apparently being for under 5's.
There seems to be buses to Weymouth town centre but I drove so I'm not sure how often but quite far to walk. Parking is quite expensive, although drive around a little to find cheaper car parks, there is a weekend car park that is only 3.50 for the day by asda.
Weymouth itself is beautiful and will definitely go back, although definitely not to this site as someone who uses a tent!

Just returned from staying a few days at this site. They have changed the touring pitches to lots of Euro pitches, which are a little smarter that the usual pitches. They are extra money though, so make sure that you choose correctly the pitch that you want when you book.
Site good with indoor / outdoor pool / restaurant and also entertainment. The pitch that we had was a good size, and fully serviced. Toilet block which was new had not been thought through first. Even though it was lovely and clean, there was nowhere to put your clothes or to hang anything up. One hairdryer which was a little worn already. Bathroom was closed off as someone had broken the taps and flooded the place.
Shop on site, but not much food in it, mainly kids named goods. Need a bus to get into Weymouth, as it is too far to walk. Lovely walks around the hills to a small little beach area. Activities for kids, entertainment not too good for adults.

We stayed on this site for 7 nights. Firstly the pitches were very small and ground hard and stony, I think maybe though that could be due to good weather.
Weekend nights were very noisy and busy but it was calm in week. The facilities were kept very clean and had hooks and baskets in shower cubicles, separate cubicles for sinks and electric points and hairdryer in womens.
The touring reception has a freezer free to use and the wardens helpful. Good entertainment team and activities on offer. We paid 85 pounds for five of us.I would stay here again as it was small and friendly.

As others have said the camping and caravanning area is not clearly marked, however take others advice and proceed on after reception and you find the touring reception (nothing more than a shed really.
I will try to go through as much as I can:
TENT PITCHES: we were lucky we stayed for 11 nights and it only rained on the last night we two families both with large tents and were given pitches 54/55 which are very large - if you have a large tent I would request one of these pitches as some of the others are a little small. The pitches however are in need of some TLC and are a little hard and uneven in dry weather and will probably get very muddy in wet weather as there is little grass left on them.
SHOWER/TOILET BLOCK: as stated is very new and very nice however my friend and I always found in the morning a queue in the gents for toilets and showers however they are very nice.
RECEPTION/ENTERTAINMENT/BAR ETC: the entertainment as usual in my opinion is ok, the reception and arcade are tidy and compact (Weymouth bay is bigger and better) the bar prices as you'd expect are quite expensive, £3.25 for a pint and its not a very good pint either. Just wish haven would learn that if they charged a reasonable amount for things more people may stay on the site instead of looking elsewhere as we did.
Everything else on the site was also price hiked except the spar which is quite small and only has essential items (there is a bigger spar and coop on the preston road which is a short walk out of the park). The spar was no more expensive than the one back home.
The outdoor pool is of a reasonable size and it does have an water slide however this is only in use on certain days and the pool shuts at 5 for haven to make money on water walkers etc we did not use the indoor pool so cant comment.
SURROUNDING AREA:
Down the road from the site is an excellent pub (spice ship)with a friendly atmosphere and staff and a small chidrens play area at the rear in a big beer garden. They did some excellent real ales at reasonable prices and it was never empty every time we went in although there was still plenty of room and the food although we didn't try it looked very good from the amount of people in the restaurant and was of a good price.
Weymouth is about a two mile drive from the site and as someone has stated the 2012 sailing etc will be held here and portland so lots of improvements going on. Parking is usually around 3-4 pound for 3-4 hours no matter where you park be warned if you visit the sealife centre (excellent for young families and get your tickets from reception as it saves you 20 quid) you will still have to pay to park (not down to sealife but the local council.
Bowleaze beach is about a 10 -15 minutes walk away (not very well signposted) and has a shop, cafe, and a small fair.
I don't want to spoil to much more as overall we would return and would use sea view again however it does need a few minor improvement. But I recommend you go to Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door(parking is behind the durdle door campsite if you don't want too much of a walk) and Portland (parking right by the lighthouse.
Dorchesters Tutankhamen exhibition is good value however is more for older children and adults and the German lady receptionist is very helpful. Dorchester is a nice place with rude people in my opinion and I had two discussions with two people whilst there due to the way they spoke to my children just for getting in there way whilst walking and parking is a nightmare so be prepared.

We stayed with our two children and two dogs for 3 nights starting at the weekend. We were generally pleased with the site and would return.
Firstly, the faults:- Saturday night was very busy as we expected and the site could probably benefit from limiting the number of tents to give each pitch a bit more room - it was far more cramped that other Haven sites we've been to.
After Saturday night though the site was less busy and everyone had more room. We also had the pleasure of trying to get to sleep to the sound of Phil Collins being played on someone's car stereo at 10:30pm onwards - after an hour we asked them to turn it down which they did but I think the site could consider a 'no noise after 10pm policy'?
The ground was also very hard, although with the little rain we've had that is to be expected - but take some strong tent pegs! As mentioned by others, it isn't clear where to check-in and we too went to the main site reception first.
The water taps were located on the electric hook-up posts which meant walking very close to other people's tents / caravans to get water which seemed to encroach on their space, they would probably have been better putting the taps near the new toilet block?
The toilet / shower / potwash block is new for 2010 and is therefore excellent, however, the key-pad locks were positioned so low on the doors I had to kneel down everytime I went to the toilet / shower - why so low? The pot-wash sinks were also very low - I'm only of average height but washing a few pots at these sinks made my back ache. I appreciate the need for facilities to be child and disabled friendly but maybe one low sink would have sufficed and the locks didn't need to be quite so low?
Good points - As mentioned, the toilet / shower block is new this year and so can't be faulted. They have separate male and female facilities and also a children's toilet which is good.
Each shower room also has a cubicle with a bath, shower over, WHB and toilet in which is ideal for families.
As others have said, there is a nice beach approx 10min walk from the site, although the walk through the other caravan park isn't too well signed (can't blame Haven for that) - you can also walk to Weymouth along the sea front if you're up for a longer walk?
The site is well located for Weymouth but also to local routes for exploring the local area - beware, there are significant roadworks being carried out ahead of the 2012 Olympics as the watersport events are being held in Weymouth and Portland and these can cause lengthy delays and diversions around the town.
The other facilities are generally good as usual on Haven sites and you can also use the facilities of the neighbouring Haven site 'Weymouth Bay'. The children's play area also looked new although wasn't really much use for our young children (4 and 2yr old) as it was made for older children.
The spar shop stocked general provisions, has very friendly staff and wasn't too badly priced - there is an ASDA and Morrisons on the outskirts of Weymouth (10min drive).
The price was pretty good too, we're a member of Haven's Freedom Trail club which is free and gives free nights (almost) and discounts to people who stayed with Haven for 3 or more nights the previous year so got three nights for £35 (including the charge for the dogs which I've never understood what we get for that charge??)
Not the best Haven camping site we've stayed on, but would recommend to others and would visit again.

We paid only 85 pound and Stayed here for 7 nights what a bargain. Touring site close to the main complex which was a bonus as Haven normally put all tourers a walk away. Stayed on a EHU basic pitch which was fine, when we arrive the site was almost full [only 2 place's left] we pick a corner pitch close to the shower block.
New shower block which was clean and tidy and cleaned every day within my stay. There is a children's play area next door to the shower block which from both touring fields [basic and hardstanding] can be seen.
There is a outdoor and Indoor swimming pool on site, papa johns pizza, a small spar shop, which sells basic things, but little expensive. There is a superstore, Morrison's, in weymonth which is about 10 mins drive.

Excellent site, one of the best havens we have stayed at.All the touring area is virtually brand new. Nice level pitches, great toilet block very clean could have done with a few more toilets in there as 3 will get very busy in high season.
Site itself is only small for a haven but my 2 lads (9&11)loved it they spent most of the time in the pools. In a great place to explore the area as well close to weymouth, monkey world, tank museum, durdle dor and loads more.
Pitch was good size with electric, water tap with a light on top so you can see where you are in the dark.Stayed for 5 nights a family of 4 for £48 what a bargain! we will be booking again.
Oh and the wardens are great we arrived at 10.30 monday morning and they let us set up camp, so all set up before we were meant to check in (12.00)

We went to this site for our first weekend of camping and got a very good deal for 2 nights (Sat/Sun) at 15.50.
Initial arrival was not good, all the signs pointed us to reception, but this was the static reception and they then had to re-direct us to the touring reception. Better signage is required for this.
Our basic pitch was a good size for our tent and the car as well, the field was well lit at night and the brand new shower block was very close. We were given a choice of pitches, and honest advice as to the pros and cons of the available pitches, which was very useful.
It should be noted that the shower block and washing up facilities are all new this season, so comments in previous reviews from 2009 regarding cleanliness and size, location etc. Of these facilities are no longer relevant. The new blocks contain 6 showers and a full length bath for each sex, along with plenty of sinks and toilets. The floor was heated which was nice on your feet and the water was hot every time I used it. They were also very clean and well looked after. The lack of place to put your things whilst showering was a bit of an issue, but the showers themselves were a good size.
The wardens were both extremely friendly and experienced. They mentioned the problem with the signage and the lack of hooks / off floor storage in the shower cubicles was something they had already raised with the park, but on the weekend we were there it had only been open 3 weeks, so they were still considered teething problems.
The facilities on site were as described, a shop, a bar area, evening entertainment area, swimming pool, arcade, adventure play area, but we didn't use any of them other than the bar food and the shop. This was because it is very child-oriented and we don't have children.
The bar food was plentiful, very tasty and reasonably priced, but the drinks were very expensive - my husband paid £4.50 for a pint of Guinness, more than we pay in London! The shop was well stocked and not extortionate, very friendly staff again.
The site is slightly outside of Weymouth town centre and you need to go there in the car, rather than walking. Parking is expensive but we had lunch in the KFC just off the sea front which includes 2 hours free parking, so that is useful if you just want a quick stroll around town. You could get to the local beach on foot, and the warden who checked us in showed us the route.
Check out is at 10am, but we checked with the Warden and he was happy to let us take longer. It was an off-peak Monday, so people were not exactly queueing up to get on to our pitch, but even so, it might be worth asking on the day you leave as they seemed quite flexible and understanding.
All in all, we were very happy and plan to return.

This is a big commercial site with lots of static caravans. On arrival I followed the signs for the car park and then walked to reception where I was told I needed to check in at the tourer’s reception. This needs to be signposted better on arrival. The wardens when I found them were very welcoming and friendly and I was shown to a pitch. The bottom field, I was informed, is all new and the pitches were spacious with close by EHU bollards that are lit at night. The bollards also have fresh water taps on them. The field though is on a slope and though whilst we were fine at the top end of it, those in the middle particularly may well find they need to level themselves somehow. Waste water and toilet disposal facilities are not far away, neither was the rubbish disposal. The park makes much of its green credentials but I could only find recycling facilities for cans and cardboard – I threw a lot of plastic away as a result!
The amenities block is also brand new and very impressive on the outside. On the inside they are kept clean on a regular basis. The showers were hot but are fitted with those annoying auto shut-off taps and when I timed it from pressing for on to shut-off it was 15 seconds. I find it annoying to have to keep pressing for more water whilst showering, though I appreciate the water and energy saving opportunity these units provide. The shower cubicles are BIG but only have one hook on the door and there is no raised area like a bench to place clothes and the like. It was clear that the person who designed these cubicles had never actually used them! The toilets and wash hand basins were clean though again, the basins have auto-shut off taps. Hand drying is superb with the latest Dyson “air-blade” driers.
There is much to keep the children occupied with a nice adventure play area and the inevitable indoor electrical amusements. We noticed that one of the arcade machines had, as its prizes loads and loads of sweets and I found this distasteful. There is also entertainment in this area at night but this isn’t my thing and we didn’t go along so I cannot comment on it. There was some noise from this at night but it didn’t interfere with us in any way. There is also an eating area here and we had the carvery on Sunday which at £7.95 was good value and comparable with prices and quality elsewhere.
The indoor swimming pool was a bit of a disappointment. It was warm but isn’t that big and there was work being carried out between the pool and changing rooms which meant a door was left open all the time. This was a cold windy weekend and my kids were shivering on the way in and out of the pool. Another annoying feature is the swimming pool lockers. They take a 20 pence piece which, once the locker is opened is not returned. This caused a lot of consternation with pool users, not because of the cost, but because people had forgotten something and then had to reopen them and then find another 20p piece. For a site already charging premium prices, I found this futile. The pool changing rooms are a bit shabby and could do with the same sort of facelift that the amenities block has had. One of the features of staying at this site is that the facilities down the road at the other Haven site, Weymouth Bay, is also available for use at no extra charge. We didn’t get to do this though so cannot comment on this.
The site has a well stocked Spar shop that is, as these places always are, a little more pricey than supermarkets but I didn’t think it was exorbitant. There is an Asda and a Morrisons in Weymouth but beware, visiting either of these from the site will mean negotiating Weymouth’s horrendous traffic problems.
Beyond the campsite, the beach can be reached by a 10 minute walk through another site and Weymouth’s main beach is a short drive or bus ride. Parking costs are heavy in Weymouth! There are two big pay and display car parks near the beach but just down the road, Debenhams have a multi-storey which is pay on exit, better if you aren’t sure how long your stay will be.
Checkout time is 10am and this just isn’t practical in a folding camper. We paid for an extra night which was £9 and we were then able to stay on a for a few hours and take our time. However, I checked prices for the same on the Tuesday after the August Bank Holiday Monday and it would be nearly £50. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised as I’m no fan of big commercial sites and we stay at these purely for the kids. I will stay again as we had already booked for August bank holiday and anyway, we did have a nice time though I’m not looking forward to the stress a 10am departure will bring.

Arrived at 10am expecting to wait until check in at 12 but the pitch was empty so we got to set up early. All the staff on site were really helpful. On site shop was well stocked they even sold soya milk (big plus for us as 4 of us are dairy free). The bar and restaurant were good food wasn't badly priced for what you got but drinks were expensive though. The swimming pools were clean and good for kids but they could of done with opening earlier.
The toilets could of done with a good clean and the showers were horrible they were very dirty and the smell was really bad , we had family in a static so ended up using their shower.
