Very well kept site. Toilets and showers clean. One way system in place. The wardens were very helpful, courteous and polite. Information room with loads of leaflets etc. Very good.
We were in the camping field and the road runs alongside it. The noise was horrendous. From 5am until just after midnight. I am not exaggerating. I have never in my life experienced such road noise. Yes we were in a tent but if caravans were in the field too, they would have heard it. So very disappointing.

A quirky site, well managed by very pleasant wardens to the usual Caravan Club standards, with a nice pub & the railway station a few minutes walk away. A good train service make day trips to Weymouth, Dorchester, Wareham (for Swanage) Poole, Bournemouth & Christchurch an easy option, (consider a railcard) & during my 2 weeks stay I only used the car once to go to the local shop a mile or so away. Can get a bit boggy in wet weather, so take the kids wellies as they will be out exploring every chance they get.

Visited Crossways recently and was firstly greeted by 2 Roe Deer, followed by a very warm welcome by Perry and Marie the friendly site wardens. A truly beautiful and well kept 35 acre site, with grassy pitches dotted between the woodland, and a newly built bug hotel which amused the children. The addition of a lovely new flat and open 8 pitch tent field is sure to please campers too (all pitches electric). Aside of the deer, there's an abundance of wildlife and some beautiful birds, but if chillin isn't your cup of tea, it's just a short hop to the local pub in Moreton (mmh! delicious food!) and the local train station which goes to Poole or Weymouth for a great day out. There's so much to do locally (suggestions to satisfy all tastes in the info room) that a weekend is just not long enough. Looking forward to going again !

Brilliant site, we visited for the first time with a 5 year old and 15 year old both loved it, both would like to go here again. The wardens were amazingly helpful and very friendly. We loved the separate areas of the site, the site was busy but we never had to queue for showers or toilets. I'm disappointed that we never found this site when my children were small. The fact that there is a tent area is great as it means my grown up children could come too. We will be visiting again in September 2016. My new favourite site! The toilets were not a problem no smell. Everywhere was kept clean and tidy. My youngest granddaughter loved the new additions to the site made by the wardens.

Stayed here for 5 nights. Really unusual site set in protected woodland. It is very peaceful. The site pitches are very unusual in that most of them are in groups of 6 maximum in different areas dotted around the site woodland. If you love your wildlife there is plenty of it. There are deer that roam the site and the tamer ones will actually take nuts from your hand.
The site uses composting toilets, but don't let this put you off as they are cleaner and actually more pleasant to use than flush toilets, there is no smell at all! The showers are good and always hot. The mainline station is 150 meters walk, the service is good and goes to all areas in that region with lots to do. There is a lack of shops in the area of the site, though.
The staff are wonderful and always on the job. If you are looking for something out of the ordinary then Crossways is for you. We will definitely be returning

We arrived on this site in atrocious weather which had caused a number of pitches to be flooded or at least quite muddy. The wardens are very helpful indeed and keep the site as tidy as possible.
We had no issues with the composting toilets or the separate shower blocks.
There is a very good dog walk which has a reasonable length.
The site itself is largely mature woodland interspersed with the pitching areas. It is the woodland nature of the site that leads to the biggest (in my view) issue, and that is lack of drainage. Woodland tends to act as a sponge to water and only slowly releases it, so leaving quite soggy pitches. This could be solved with a better drainage plan and more hardstanding pitches (there is only one small hardstand area).
Would we return to this site? Most definitely, especially in nicer weather!

The site is really clean mixture of hardstanding and grass pitches. Wardens really friendly and helpful (especially when I got lost trying to find the laundry! !will say no more, gave a few people a giggle )
The toilets are ok weird not having to flush. But annoying that you have to go to another block to shower. Ended up using our own.
Really near the railway station which was ideal, very reasonable prices off peak.
Would recommend

Beautifully kept, peaceful site. Little open glades amongst trees with room for 10 to 15 units in each so no overcrowding.
Pitches were the usual big size.
We were not made aware until arrival that this site had composting toilets. However, these were so clean & looked like any ordinary toilet facility, in fact, seemed better kept (and had NO smell) and meticulously clean.
Little gate at back of site with coded access lead to local pub. Food was delicious. This also gives access to train station. Automated ticketing and clean, modern punctual train takes 15 mins to Weymouth.

This was the third site on our travels, it was very different to the usual Caravan Club Sites. The layout means lots of pitches are in the shade but we were lucky to have a hardstanding at the top end, lower pitches can get very wet as the water drains down to them. The deer wandering around was lovely, wardens were very friendly and helpful. Composting toilets nothing to worry about, but the shower blocks were very tired and desperately in need of an upgrade. Fans in the shower blocks did not work so mould up the walls due to condensation. Having said all that we would return just for the unique setting

We visited the first w/end the site was open for 2015 but it was already almost half full - which tells you something. Everything was immaculately clean and the on-site staff were helpful and cheerful. The only thing they forgot to tell us on booking in was to twist the hook-up socket when connecting - I had to ask another camper what to do before our unit went live.
Some pitches were coned off as being too damp to use but we found a good, level, grassed pitch backing onto the railway cutting. Trains are 4 an hour up to midnight but are electric and reasonably quiet - except when they hoot for the nearby level crossing. We were happy to experience that in return for a clear line-of-sight to Astra 28. 2E - it was the last w/end of the 6 Nations after all. Slightly odd that the shower block we used had no basins - they were in a separate building with the composting toilets (which are fine, by the way). The showers were well heated and easy to use. Plenty of service points around the site and a proper motorhome drive-over drain near the site exit.
We didn't try the nearby pub, but did get on the train to Weymouth (£6. 50 return) which is a great seaside town - pretty lively even in March. Good push-bike country with few long hills, but not much in the way off off-road cycle tracks.
Altogether a good and well located site to which we will return.
