This has got to be one of my favourite campsites, Situated just a 15 minute stroll along the canal from the lovely town of Llangollen. The site is a working farm and the owners are very friendly and easy going.
There are 2 parts to the site, the top being hardstandings spaced around a loop all with EHU (metered) and there's a camping (tent) field alongside the entrance. There are lovely country hillside views from every pitch and the place is extremely peaceful. I would say the only let down are the somewhat 'tired' toilet and shower facilities that really could do with modernising, having said that these facilities are always warm, clean(ish), free and have plenty of hot water.
Llangollen itself has plenty to do and see, with the steam railway, river, canal and plenty of unique shops and nice pubs & restaurants (the Corn Mill, overlooking the river is well worth a try). This is truly a great place to stay - well recommended

My opinion of the site was like Santa Cruz below. The farm itself is very dilapidated and if their home is not looked after then it is no surprise that the toilet block is also in need of TLC. Did not use the showers as I did not like the look of them. No room for an awning on some of the pitches. However, the view is lovely. Llangollen is excellent to visit, with shops, pubs, cafes etc. And of course the railway and canal.

We chose this campsite as we wanted to be in walking distance of Llangollen. So from our point this was in an ideal location. We got a friendly welcome from the owner who showed us to our pitch. The caravan/motorhome site is situated in a circle around a large open grass area and is terraced with hardstandings. However, not all pitches are level and we found we had to use ramps. The shower block, as has been mentioned before, is a little dated but adequate if you're not into 5* camping. I'm not sure if the 3 toilet and 2 shower cubicles in the Ladies would have been sufficient had the both caravan and tent sites been full. The shower block would benefit greatly from a bit of TLC: fixing toilet seats, cleaning slimy shower trays and generally cleaning more frequently. On the plus side the showers were free, there was always plenty of hot water, good quality toilet paper and soap. The washing up facilities were adequate and there were even books to read. Electricity was metered and therefore reflected the amount actually used but you had to make sure you did not accidentally run out. Would we stay there again: a definite yes.

Lovely peacefully small site an easy stroll along the canal into Llangollen. This site is basic no frills with simple toilets showers and washing up facilities in the caravan / campervan field. It's reasonably priced and hook ups and water are accessible
It's best feature is its location close to Llangollen its peace and quiet, apart from the occasional whistle from the steam train! and sunny views across the valley.

This site is a basic, no frills campsite but at £12 per couple per night you can't really complain. The tent site was not very busy when we visited so we felt very comfortable as we had lots of space to ourselves. The owner was friendly on arrival but we didn't see her after this, not necessarily a bad thing as I hate to be mithered but it might be an idea for them to be more visible at night to control the noise level. The toilet block is very dated and in need of sprucing up but there was plenty of hot water and the showers are free. There are two showers, toilets, urinals and sinks in the men's plus an electric razor point. The ladies were similar apart from the urinals-obviously! After our first night we were tempted to pack up and leave due to a very noisy bunch of people on the caravan site who stayed up talking loudly and playing music till gone midnight. However, we decided to stay on and the site was much quieter the night after- I'm not sure whether this was due to the weather or the site owners but after a day of walking it was nice to relax at night without the disturbance. This site wasn't the best equipped or cleanest of places that we have stayed but the location can not be faulted. It is surrounded by countryside, with great walks on the doorstep and the lovely town of Llangollen just a short walk away. And all for £6 per person-a bargain in my book!

A quiet location perfect for a 12 minute stroll into Llangollen, via the canal towpath. Llangollen offers a good range of activities, especially the steam railway and riverside walks. Other local events/festivals/exhibitions occur throughout the year. The nearby peak of Dinas Bran can be seen from the site and is one of many fantastic walks available in the area.
The site itself is divided into two separate fields, one for touring caravans, the other for tents (tent field did not have electric hook up available). The tree lined tent field is quite small and the slope varies, but is not precipitous. (Tip: bring sturdy tent pegs to cope with the stoney ground!) The grass was neatly mown and the site litter free. The short walk to the toilet block takes you past farm outbuildings in a variety of states of repair but offering refuge to numerous birdlife. The loos are adequate, as are the showers (free!) and washing up area. This is a simple no frills site managed by a pleasant couple, Mel and Tref, who generally run a tight ship.
During our 3 night stay under canvas the field quickly filled up with families. It's worth noting that the field can become a little congested with children and their bikes and footballs resulting in a loss of privacy around your pitch. This was the case when two large family groups arrived on site. However, come dark, all quietened down!

Must start by stating that we were/are very disappointed with this site. We booked it based on reviews by others and neither myself nor my wife were impressed and our overall feeling is that the overall rating of 8/10 is not justified
On arrival you are greeted with the sight of a very run down farm house and out buildings, falling brick work, broken windows, flaking paintwork everywhere and even collapsed roofing on some out-buildings.
Of all the previous reviews the only one I would suggest as being realistic is that of 'Mickeymullett'.
We stayed a week and loved Llangollen (so much to see and do) and the couple who run the site are very pleasant and helpful but the the toilet block is dilapidated and was not cleaned/maintained to anything resembling a reasonable standard. Three midweek days passed without the toilets being cleaned once.
Not all pitches are level and most are too small to allow an awning to be erected without the slope, often in two directions, making pitching difficult.
Considering the general state of the site the charges of £17 per night for two, plus electric on a meter, the site does not encourage a return visit in our eyes so despite the sites proximity to the centre of Llangollan we shall not be using it again. There are others in the area that are far better.

Just spent 3 nights at this campsite and had a great time, the campsite is set behind the farmhouse in lovely surroundings, with great views. It is nice and quiet but is in walking distance to llangollen along the canal in which there is lots to see and do. The toilet block is not very modern but clean and showers nice and warm. There is lots of space for each pitch so children can run around without disturbing surrounding caravans. Overall a lovely site.

Lovely, quiet site convenient for the canal and town centre. Plenty to do in Llangollen. Easy bike/walk along the canal to either the aquaduct or Horseshoe Falls. Plenty of places to eat. The Cottage Cafe serves really nice home made steak pie!. However, toilets very dated and not clean on arrival and not cleaned at all during our four night stay. Had to rob the ladies toilet for replacement loo roll!
Would we stay again? Yes but hopefully after toilet modernisation as at £17 pn plus electric not exactly cheap.

I first visited Tower Farm Campsite in 2009. I love Llangollen to bits and its my favourite place in the world. I came for four days in September 2012 and we set up the caravan.
The site is on a hill below Castle Dinas Bran which is on the top of a mountain and to get there off Abbey Road you have to turn on a you turn (a bit hard with a long caravan) but getting in and parking up the caravan/tent etc. Is super easy. Most bays for caravans are pretty level but when its been raining heavily the grass is a bit boggy. There is brilliant tv signal from the camp-site, the aerial is on the top of a mountain so its easy to connect.
The picturesque is fantastic, and its always quiet and most days you hear the whistle from a steam train on the llangollen railway.
There's a big field so children can play, there's no playground but there is mostly always other kids there and there is loads of free space to set up your own games. The town is just 10 minutes away, you can go and enjoy the shops and traditional bakeries there is in town or you could take a stroll down the canal where its peaceful and a great path to walk your dog.
Facilities are excellent although a bit old, but the showers are always warm and there is always enough toilet roll. There is a pot was room as well. Prices are reasonable, and there is taps to fill up your water for your caravan and if you don't have a pipe there is one you can use. There is electricity boxes where you can connect two caravans to it at a time but there is also extra plug-ins. Hope this helps.
