First trip to this site, lovely location and very quiet. The rates seemed reasonable, £5 per adult per night and £2.50 for under 12s.
Toilets and showers were reasonable and clean and the caravans and camper vans are well away from the tent field. 10 Minute walk down the towpath to Llangollen town centre and lovely quiet hills to walk.
No groups allowed, families and couples only which is great. Only draw back I could see is the steep slope from the camping field down into the river some 20-30 feet below, this isn't very good for small children as it isn't fenced.
Would use again.

This site is in a cracking location for Llangollen, easy walking distance (off road) to the town centre.
Its situated on a working farm and is a small site rather than a holiday park. Hardstandings - some level, plenty of electric pitches. Wouldn't be great for active families and all the exercise space is off site for dogs.
Toilets are heated and functional, not the best, and have the old 'one hook' shower cubical we are all familiar with - but water hot. Toilet disposal has a sink but no hose to rinse out.
All in all would go there again due to location but this is a handy basic site, if that's your expectation you'll enjoy it.

Couple with 13 year old daughter
This was our first camping trip. I have to admit we like our home comforts so weren't too sure if camping was for us but after initial problems putting up the tent we had a really fab weekend.
The site was great. Showers, toilets and washing up facilities were good. The water was lovely and hot and the toilets were clean.
There were no hook ups for tents but we weren't equipped for that anyway.
The owner was really nice - friendly but not in your face. It was fairly quiet when we went, I suppose with it being the end of the season, but we were really lucky with the weather - it was sunny and quite warm for the time of year although very cold at night. It was a pleasure to lay in bed at night and chat amongst ourselves and listen to the owls hooting.
We were a 15 minute pleasant walk along the canal to the town of Llangollen where there was loads to do. No matter what the age of your children I'm sure you won't have any difficulty finding something to interest them. We particularly liked the boat trips and would like to come back to try the kayaking. We picked up leaflets about nearby attractions but there was more than enough for us to do in nearby Llangollen.
This was a quiet site and I would be more than happy to recommend it to family and friends.

Just back from Tower Farm spent two nights there all things about showers and toilets have been covered. You need a mobile phone to contact them if they are busy elsewhere, I phoned from the reception there is a dog there that growls at you but the dog is ok. Will definitely return there. Langollen itself is a nice kept town. I went by train and bus, get off at Wrexham Central and short walk to bus station Bay 1 and the Number 5 GHA BUS £2.50 to Llangollen. Get off the bus in the centre of the town and walk back over the bridge look to the left when you are over the bridge and you will see a taxi company, you have to phone them but the number is on the door. If you are carrying a pack and tent unless you are really fit you need a taxi to get up the hill. All in all I enjoyed my stay at Tower farm

I am just back from Tower Farm and I can whole heartedly agree with all the previous reviews. I was looking for a site close to the railway as a base to take the kids to 'A Day Out with Thomas' and this place is great.
Mel is such a great host and as I am new to the caravanning scene I am always nervous about new places but I got a great welcome and felt at ease straight away.
The site is easy to access and the pitches are level with the benefit of a good stone base.
The centre of the top field is a great open space for the kids to play and the access road makes is a good path for cycling round.
We also took a short trip towards Wrexham to see the Fron Aquaduct, this is another sight that is worth visiting while at Tower Farm but not for those who have a fear of heights.
In summary it was so good we have booked again for next month.

Have just returned from a few days at this site and were very happy with the site. It is in a beautiful setting with hills all around and swallows swooping across the field. It was very peaceful with no traffic nearby, just the hoot of the steam train now and then.
There is one field predominantly for hookups where the shower/toilet block is situated, and another on the far side of the farm buildings near the entrance to the site with no hookups. The owner (Mel) was very friendly and helpful. The toilet block was always clean and the showers hot, full power and free. Rates seemed reasonable. The quiet after 10.30pm rule was kept to. There was no play area as such but space in the middle to play and the circular access road made a nice circuit for bikes/skateboards for kids. They sell their own lamb and pork (delicious sausages). It's a very pleasant 10 minute walk to town along the canal. Llangollen has plenty of eating places - the Corn Mill has excellent food and a wide range of beers, with an amazing view from decks over the river.
There are lovely walks right from the campsite: a steep climb up Dinas Bran directly above the site gives astounding views of the area for miles including the famous aqueduct; a more level walk is along the tow path (away from Llangollen) to the abbey remains of Valle Crucis which are very atmospheric. There is so much to do in the area that we will definitely be back again.

We stayed here a few weeks ago. 2 of us with our dog for 2 nights.
The site is small, just one field for tents at the front of the farm and one for caravans round the back. It is in a very good location close to town in a scenic spot. The facilities are excellent. The toilets and showers very clean and well maintained. Nice hot showers.
This is a small, friendly, quiet camp site, couples and families only.
Would definitely recommend it. Good value for money £10 a night.

What other site can you go on as when you run out of gas for the barbie, the owers give you their own gas! What a brilliant couple considering there was 19 of us there for a football tournament. By the way we won!
Will be returning with my own family very soon.
Toilets very clean, showers hot and free, fantastic views right round the camp.
Keep up the good work and thanks.

Arrived at the site for a long weekend for the first time, recommend by friends. Great pitch in the lower field, site was clean and tidy and had a homely feel. Toilets and showers were very clean too. Trevor and mel were lovely. We had a long talk about our Manchester neighbours! We will be definitely be returning in August to round our summer holiday off with a few friends. Our other friends are still there now after only visiting us for the night! that's how nice it is.

Just spent a couple of days here and would recommend this site. The facilities are clean and comfortable and the only slight criticism that I could possibly level at them, was the inoperative light in the Gents which left the cubicles an wee bit dark. Not enough to put me off revisiting this site. I found the fees more than reasonable and the owner of the site more than friendly and welcoming.
You can save on the washing up by nipping along the canal tow path (about 10 mins) and finding a pub for your evening meals. We found that the Bull Inn, just up the hill from the bridge. You have the choice here of eating upstairs in the restaurant, or eating in the bar. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the food is excellent (their braised lamb shank is gorgeous). There are a couple of short hills to negotiate along the way into town (downhill there and uphill back) so that will help burn off some of those calories.
Well worth the drive (15 miles or so) is a visit to Ruthin. If you are into history at all, you will not be disappointed. They have the old Gaol open with audio tours and is a good way of expending a wet afternoon. You could also take advantage and visit the Tesco store as Llangollen only has a Spar and a Somerfield.
I will definitely be visiting this site again
