We stay here from the 6th of August for 5 nights. What a Gem lovely site basic and simple no thrills in fantastic location. It really is just a short walk in Llangollen. Although it's quite a hill it's not all up as you can walk along the canal.
We didn't use our car the whole time we were there loads of shops in Llangollen and really good butchers and plenty of pubs restaurants.
On site facilities are old but well maintained always clean and well stocked with loo roll and showers are free. Pot washing is indoors just two sinks but never had to wait.
There's plenty of room for a kick about when the site not to busy but if it is there's a playing field football pitch just over the road. No children's play area but we never find this an issue ours were to busy making dens and just playing with other kids. Plus there's a really good one next to the river in Llangollen with crazy golf and cafe.
Very much a family and couples site with town a nice 10 minute walk away. We will definitely be going again.

This was our third visit to this site. It is in an excellent position for the Eisteddford. The site is sloping but the pitches are mostly level and even this year with all the rain they were well drained.
The electric is on a meter now but that worked out at under £1 a day, which was very good as the weather was not very warm and we used our heating at times.
The site is very well cared for and Mel and Trev are efficient and friendly hosts. We have already booked for next year.
We have given the site 8/10 for facilities because it does not have some of the things other sites have, but for us, 3 adults, it had everything we needed and peace and quiet so it still deserves full marks for us.

A fantastic site, out in the country but a short walk along the canal into Llangollen town for shops/pubs etc. Toilet block is basic but is clean, tidy and adequate. The site is a small site compared to others but don't be put off by this, as the pitches are very spacious and the owners are friendly and helpful. The only problem I had was booking up as this is a very popular site and once you've been you will understand why.
If you want a peaceful, relaxing place to be, then here it is.

Good basic site.
The tent field slopes generally but is protected on 3 sides by mature trees, caravans are located at the rear of the farm on a hill. Very quiet when we stayed only 2 tents and 4 caravans on site, its a working farm but was really quiet, shower block was basic but in working condition, water was hot but with only a handful of people at the site I would expect no less.
There are lots of rules stated but the owners were very friendly. Its about a 10 minute walk into town, ideally located, good value at £6pppn for a tent too.

Site is basic, comprising a field for tents and another for caravans, with shared functional ablutions/pot wash room. Water tap/refuse point at edge of field. There are no bars, games rooms, amusement arcades etc so this is basic camping at its purest.
Tent pitches reasonably level, the field is hedged to three sides which gives some wind protection. Even though it rained like blazes during our stay, the field never got soggy, so drainage is pretty good. My son and I paid £5/night each, a bargain.
Located about a mile from Llangollen, but halfway up a hill so a stiff walk back from the town!.
Thoroughly recommended, will be returning later in the year.

Wow, what a great place for a family or couples to stay with a tent. If you like picturesque, quiet camping sites, that are great for families to stay, with friendly campsite owners, with lots to do within either within walking distance or by a short trip in the car, this is the place to stay. The field to the front of the farm is well bordered by mature trees and the field is virtually flat which is great for a tent. There is no bad place to pitch your tent. The ground is well stoned up which makes it easy to drain when it rains. There are loads of birds which is really nice to hear, and the gentle stream that runs along side the tent field makes for a relaxing background soundtrack. We thought we'd miss a playground, but to be honest, it didn't make any difference because the field is nicely spaced out and sized so that the kids can run up and down, play football, throw a frisby, etc, so they didn't even get chance to think about a playground. The scenery is great, and Castell Dinas Bran is only a short but steep walk away. Llangollen is very easy to get to by a short walk along the canal, so you don't have to drive to the town and try and find a parking spot. That's a real bonus of the position of this campsite. I don't think any other campsite is within a sensible walking distance of the town. The facilities are basic but are more than adequate to cope with the amount of people that stay which is great. We didn't have to queue once to use anything. The prices are very reasonable and although there appears to be quite a lot of rules, these appear to be in place to set a standard and providing you abide by the rules, you'll barely even know the owners are there. This really is a great find. We have stayed and looked at other campsites nearby but this is probably the best all-round one. Overall a 9/10!

Very angry that the price was raised by £3 per night without any prior notice. Now at £19 per night and the facilities offered do not give value for money in my opinion.
The site was in a beautiful location situated within the hills of North Wales. There were 3 toilets and 2 showers each for males and females. The male showers were cold and slow, the female showers were hot and forceful. The blocks were clean but a little dated.
There was a dish washing cabin with books and videos to borrow.
It was lovely to see the swallows flying low on the site, but not to hear the crows cawing overhead!
A short walk into Llangollen centre and walks along the canal were closeby.
The hosts were friendly and helpful, they said they were not the owners so couldn't do anything about the price increase.

Dilapidated and crumbling farm buildings form the main entrance to Tower Farm camp site. The touring field is located behind ‘the Farmstead’ set in a circular exposed windy basin only affording restricted and tantalising glimpses of the visual delights of lust green valley’s and wooded hillsides in the this area. The farm tenants double up as the site wardens and during our visit were given the unenviable task of enforcing the distant owners 20% hike on pitch fees this year without any prior warning. The new rates change this site from cheap and cheerful to expensive and poor provisions.
The toilet block is very basic but relatively clean, however this only has two toilets/two showers in male and female which caused problems as the site had DoE kids staying one night and size proved inadequate for people staying on site. The site is set in a ‘working small farm’ with associated noise including delights of mechanical wood splitter from the adjacent field.
The upside is the convenient location to Llangollen and the Vale of Llangollen with its steam railway, canal and River Dee offering a variety of attractions plus great walks and rides in this area. Bottom line, would I recommend this site – no, too many nice sites and better locations are available in this part of the country.

Ideal campsite within walking distance of the town. Friendly hosts. Couple & families only. Toilets facilities OK
Site on side of hill with 14 pitches so early booking advisable. Hardstanding to caravans maybe better for cars and pitch the caravans on grass. When we were there it rained hard so grass soggy, parking on the grass was not good and was asked to park on the vacant hardstanding. On some of the pitches require levelling blocks so be warned. Strict adherence to 'No Noise after 10. 30' Only bugbear was having to get out and open and close gate ever ytime you come in or out of the site.
Would I recommend ? YES

This was our first visit to this site, its a fantastic location, only ten minutes walk along the canal into town and about fortyfive minutes the opposite way to Horseshoe Falls. There's a fair bit to see and do if the weather is good, we were lucky it was warm and sunny.
The site itself is quite small and the approach road quite narrow for bigger motorhomes. The pitches are hardstanding but not very level we tried three times and still couldn't manage to do it, the caravans seemed to fair better.
Make sure you bring your own hose if you're in a motorhome as the water pipe is on a steep uneven piece of ground and the hose supplied is quite short.
The toilet/shower block is a bit tired and grubby but nothing a lick of paint and a good clean wouldn't sort out. (or even people cleaning up after them selves!)
Overall we had a lovely weekend and thought at £32 it was brilliant.
