Beautiful site and really quiet with welcoming owners. Facilities always spotless and showers are free. Hairdryers 20p but this dried my chin length hair without any problem. Freezer for ice blocks free. I can see why so many people on the site were returnees. Very convenient for Wells, Glastonbury, Cheddar. Beautiful area - loved Ebbor Gorge which you can walk from the site. Wookey Hole Club can be used by customers of this site. We were made very welcome and the beer was good and cheap. The pub just down the road is quite pricey but the food is good. Shame we had such bad weather.

I wanted a little time away from it all and this site provided just that. The site was incredibly quiet even though the weather was beautiful - I expected it to be packed!
You can camp next to the stream in the first section and lie in the tent in the morning listen to the water. The ground was really smooth and perfect for tent pegs.
There are a number of trees so if you want to sit in the late evening sun, pitch your tent accordingly. While I was there there was enough space to chase the sun in my chair.
The toilet block was really clean and the showers were free and more powerful than mine at home (maybe not difficult).
I didn't find any recycling bins but maybe didn't look hard enough.
My plan to soak up the sun in peace and quiet and read books was achieved with flying colours. I would definitely return and certainly recommend it to friends.

This was a lovely campsite - very quiet and clean, and the owners were very welcoming. There is a little stream running through the campsite and this is the reason why no children under 18 are currently allowed - the owners told us that the insurance premium was excessive and would have involved fencing off the stream. You can camp right next to the stream, but wherever you camp you are no more than a minutes walk from the toilets and showers.
There are 2 toilet/shower blocks, one at both ends of the camping field, both with bins and washing up facilities. There is a chemical toilet disposal facility at one of the blocks. The showers are unisex wet rooms with a hairdrier (20p) - lovely hot showers, and the wet rooms/ toilets were always clean and always plenty of toilet paper. There is a village pub and the social club - we didn't try either but the menu in the pub was very expensive. The camping field backs on to the Wookey Hole car park - you cant see the car park as it is shielded by trees - the only reason that I mention it is that you can hear the cars/children arriving and leaving but it really is nothing major!
I would definitely recommend this campsite, and as soon as my daughter goes away with friends again (shes 14 so not allowed at this site) we will return.

We have returned to this site having first visited 2 years ago and can report that it is still as good as before.
The site was quiet, despite being beautifully sunny and the beginning of August, it was clean and welcoming.
The shop in Wookey Hole has closed since our last visit so we had to make sure we had enough provisions before heading back to our tent.
The social club happily welcomes campers for a drink and an escape from the rain, they are happy to encourage you to try the local zider!
Looking forward to returning again in the not too distant future!

Delighted to find this pretty camp site! We stayed mid July for a weekend ( Priddy Folk Festival nearby) and had a superb pitch right on the banks of the stream.
Brown trout for entertainment and kingfishers if you get up early in the morning! Owl fly past if you get up in the night!. The toilet/shower block was almost en suite!
Very very clean and efficient facilities and such a friendly welcome ensures that we shall be back. We didn't see the kingfishers! Plenty of hot water for washing up and the rubbish was collected regularly.
The owners deserve a real pat on the back for such a great site. The pitches are not marked and we were able to choose location. All in all a lovely weekend. Can thoroughly recommend.
The village of Wookey Hole has good amenities, campers are welcome at the local club. The local shop has however closed. Wookey Hole caves are next door but didn't seem to impact of the privacy of the campsite. Very interesting antique shop across the road from the campsite too!

Arrived to a warm welcome from the site warden and after a run through of the facilities we were able to select our own pitch.
The site was always clean and tidy and very quiet at all times despite being next to the car park for Wookey Hole (you wouldn't even know the car park was there).
Showers and toilets always clean and never had to queue.
Never had any issues with birds despite being pitched under a tree.
Didn't use the local pub, although the menu did look inviting (but prices were quite high).
Useful shop near the site entrance for any essentials.
Overall, would say great value for money.

Excellent campsite. We stayed for 3 nights and were v. Impressed. The site was quiet and sheltered and the toilets, showers and washing area was clean. The showers were powerful too.
Nice to sit by the stream and enjoy a good book. Plenty of space so you're not overlooked by neighbours!
Excellent value and friendly staff.
Best to enter Wookey Hole from Wells to avoid the one track lane from the main Priddy Road!

We were only booked in for a few days to move elsewhere in Somerset. Pitch great, even with torrential rain on some days! Showers lovely & hot, hair dryer in the shower rooms which whilst not busy is not a problem, but if someone was waiting whilst someone is drying hair.Pub 5 minutes walk serves great food, maybe expensive for some but highly recommended. Great area for walks, Priddy, Wells.Found this a great location to visit Somerset. Ended up staying for 8 nights, they were very accommodating even though this run into a bank holiday weekend it was not a problem.

I visited Homestead Park over the recent bank holiday weekend with two of my friends.
The campsite is situated right in the heart of wookie hole, which is a lovely picturesque village on the edge of the historic city of Wells. It is as I say right on the doorstep of Wookie, so you can just walk across the campsite to the caves.
On arrival at the campsite, we were all pleasantly surprised, the campsite itself has a river running through with a tarmac road and grass on either side for the pitch areas. I especially liked the fact that the campsite is tree and hedge lined which had it been windy it would have offered some shelter. There is also nice views of the rolling mendip hills from the campsite.
This is not a large campsite' but there was plenty of room as they only have 30 pitches and it had a nice peaceful atmosphere, this would make an ideal relaxing break for anyone and you can take dogs too. There is a pub and club, which you can join with your campsite receipt and a village store which serves breakfast which opens at 10.00am.
There is a gents and ladies toilet block and two shower cubicles and wash areas. Although there was only two showers and considering this was a bank holiday, I did not have to wait once to use the facilities. The whole campsite was well kept and the shower and toilets were regularly cleaned.
The owner was pleasant and very helpful and I would recommend this campsite to anyone wanting a nice relaxing break, it would serve as a good base for visiting Somerset sites.Note though, that it is adult only.

I didn't think this site could possibly be as nice as it is, as it's right in the middle of Wookey Hole village. However the theme park isn't obtrusive, and the campsite is very pleasantly situated between two streams. It's quiet, clean and well-equipped, and though it was peak season and quite busy, it didn't feel over-full. The other site users were friendly and chatty, as I've found often happens on smaller, tents-only sites (I have no experience of small caravan-only sites!)
The only problem I had was due to me not being very observant: I pitched next to a useful pole to lock my bike to - turned out (of course!) that this had a bright light on it which kept me awake! I moved to a different place the next day. Which you can do at a site which lets you choose your own pitch.
Lots of interesting places nearby: I pushed my bike up the steep hill up the Mendips and had a very pleasant day looking round nature reserves and old churches. A flatter cycle ride takes you by side roads to Wedmore where you can choose between several cafes.
I came back here again at the end of my trip, and I'd certainly use the site again.
