Great little campsite. Found the location to be rural, quiet and handy for visiting lots of places including the City and Cathedral of Wells, Cheddar, Ebbor gorge, Clarks village and Wookie Hole which was a very short walk up the road.
The campsite has two shower/toilet blocks which were always kept clean, we never had to wait for showers and there was always hot water.
We really enjoyed staying at this campsite.

Have just returned from 5 nights at this wonderful site. It is well sited in the village of Wookey Hole with a small shop and cafe next door and social club and inn opposite. We were warmly welcomed to the site. It is small with a river running through it, despite it being the middle of August and dry weather we found ourselves a great spot away from anyone else. The site is level and spotlessly clean. There are two toilet/shower blocks and never a queue for either, they were a little dated but clean with plenty of hot water. The site has a no noise policy between 11 and 8 but there was little noise at all, it's a site for chilling and relaxing. We are certainly looking for a date to return to the site.

We pre-booked 4 nights in advance, very informal and no deposit taken as the site doesn't take payment by card. Greeted by the site owners lovely mother who booked us in and told us a bit about the local area and facilities.
You can pitch wherever you fancy, and all pitches are level.
The site is really quiet with some unexpected wildlife, great to open the tent in the morning to see a dipper feeding in the stream.
The toilet and shower blocks are basic but always clean, with plenty room in the showers.
Temporary membership of the local club was appreciated as the locals are so friendly.
The club has had a new kitchen fitted but at the time of our visit the food was limited to toasted sandwiches and the occasional shepherds pie, which was a shame as the food at the pub is a bit pretentious and pricey.
There is plenty to see in the area, from the cave and mill a few meters round the corner to Wells cathedral 1.5 miles away, and Bath, Bristol, Glastonbury, Cheddar, Weston-super-mare, & Burton on sea all within easy reach.
The only criticism was the lack of a roof over the washing up sink at the smaller block.

On arrival the site owner was very friendly and made us feel welcome. We stayed for three nights. The toilets and showers were kept immaculate, and seemed to be cleaned twice a day. All camping area is on level ground, and well kept. The site is right in the middle of the village but well away from any main road noise there is a provision shop at the entrance to the site that sells everything mostly local produce also there is a tea room at the rear of shop that we also recommend when you don't feel like cooking. We would recommend this site to anyone and we will be returning as soon as we can

I have just returned home from a long weekend at the site and I must say that it was wonderful. Despite all of the rain that we had the site remained a joy to stay at. There was no flooding or muddy ground and the little streams either side of the camping area were wonderful. It is adults and tents only so was very friendly and peaceful. The owner was really really helpful and would do all in his power to assist with any request I had. The toilets and showers were both clean and roomy and were a pleasure to use. The showers had an endless supply of hot water and were a really good size as they are set in a 'wet room' style. The location of the site is just next to Wookey hole caves and is set in a wonderful little village. There is also a cafe next to the site that does a fantastic breakfast. The site is perfectly situated for Bristol and Western super mare and is also very cheap compared to other site. We went on motorcycles and were made very welcome by all. I really enjoyed my stay and will certainly go again.

Lovely quiet site in the middle of Wookey Hole village. Only has basic facilities but that's all you need. Very clean toilets, lovely showers and washing sinks at either end of the site.
We had a wonderful, peaceful holiday and will definitely go back.
If you do not like wildlife then this is a place to avoid. The squirrels (grey) are very friendly and the owls like you to know that they are around and watching over you at night
The local shop situated at the entrance to the site does not open on Tuesday and Wednesday so bear this in mind when shopping. Wells is just down the road and there is a Tesco as well as all the local shops.
Wookey Hole is an ideal base to tour Somerset and this site is definitely one of the best I have ever been to. Very highly recommended.

A small, adults only site, we were immediately struck by the friendliness of the staff, the immaculate condition of the tent area, and the peace and quiet, which was only disturbed by the gentle trickle of the stream which runs through the site. There is a shower/toilet block at each end of the site, and as it is a small site that means you are never far away from one or the other; they were both immaculately clean and the showers were spacious and efficient. One of the washing up sinks was not under cover, which would be the only improvement I would have liked to see.
We were just having a short break to visit a relative, but the attractions that can easily be reached by car,(Cheddar Gorge, Yeovil Fleet Air Arm Musuem, Haines Motor Museum to name but a few)and Wookey Caves right on the doorstep have made us realise we need to spend more time in the area.
There is a small village shop where you can get the basics and it is only a short drive into Wells if you want more choice.
An ideal site if you need to unwind!

Stayed the weekend 12-14th of June 09. What a little find! A great site quiet and lovely to listen to the babbling brooks whilst you nod off.
The facilities were clean and well serviced. I was concerned there may of been a wait as it was 2 showers per block but didn't seem to be a problem, may be a point if very busy. Nice and private shower rooms though. I would recommend this site and also the Wookey Hole inn was a nice funky bar with some good choice of ales and Weiss beer!
Worthy find, I'm sure we'll visit again

What a wonderful little site, very quiet and very relaxing. The site manager Stuart was very helpful even when in the process of replacing two showers, the site was extremely clean I would recommend this site and will definitely be returning in the not too distant future

A peaceful camp site in an excellent location. The local pub was very nice - the food looked lovely although they do not serve food on a Sunday evening, however, we were able to walk into Wells (about 25 minutes) for an evening meal. The facilities were a little dated, however they were clean. The owner was friendly and the reception had lots of information on the surrounding area. We will definitely be returning to this site.
