Managed to book two nights stay at short notice when our preferred site was full. On arrival we were greeted by the very friendly and helpful owner who gave us a run down of the site and details of local amenities The site itself is small, flat and very pretty, being bounded by river exe on one side and a mill stream on the other. We camped close to the toilet block with the showers attached, which although small and very old fashioned, were spotless and kept in that condition all weekend (loads of very hot water!) the only slight niggle is the lack of any lights in the showers, so take a lamp with you when showering at night. Just outside the entrance to the site is a small store and cafe which serve snacks through to roast lunches on sunday-well worth a visit(the plumb crumble is divine!) The village pub gets very busy and the food is pricey-average main course about£15,although very good. A 5min drive into wells tesco to stock up on supplies if needed. We pitched close to the river which was quite loud - take earplugs if you don't like the sound of running water. Very impressed with this site and can't wait until our next visit

It has been at least 18 years since I last visited this site. A very friendly place sheltered flat pitches right next to the river Axe and has mill stream running through it. Perfect campsite local shop and cafe at the gate.has local pub 100 yards away. But I found the Wooky hole social club better only 50p to join and £1.30 for local cider like going back in time.
Free ice block freezer. Showers and washing up facilities all excellent and very clean they seem to stay clean this must be a benefit of a adults only site.
Plenty to do around the area close to Wells/Glastonbury/Cheddar, Weston super mare only a short drive away. Plenty of walks close by I recommend the Ebbor Gorge 1/2 mile up the road it is close but best to drive there as single track road up a steep hill (lots of running to a passing place as cars approach)
Missing waking up in such and clean quiet environment I am planning a return visit this year it is that pleasant. After staying at several other sites on this trip this was by far the best.

A quiet lovely site set right in the heart of the village but still managed to maintain a park setting. The grounds were immaculate with flat level pitches throughout. The toilet and shower block were basic but kept clean. Less than 2 mins walk to the caves, the local pub, and a private drinking club which you can get temporary membership to as long as you show your campsite receipt. There is a shop and cafe outside the park entrance too. Would highly recommend.
