Like this site a lot. Have returned a few times. Big pitches. On a slope though, so take some chocks. Lots of ducks. Nice size fishing lake. Clean toilets. Hot showers. Tucked out the way of main roads. The only annoying thing is if you pitch up near the toilet blocks, other campers seem to think its good to cut across your pitch to go the loo! A wind breaker soon sorts this out though. Usually a lot of locals pitch here, so must be good. Dog walk on site. All pitches are serviced. Quite pricey compared to CC sites. Like it still the same as a weekend getaway for us. Pub is good. The food smelled great, so will eat there next time I think. The only late night arrival they cater for is on a Friday, so be warned. The staff are friendly & helpful. There are no ball games or chasing of ducks allowed either, so children be warned!

We stayed for 4 nights in this campsite. The family were welcoming and gave us excellent information about the area.
The facilities were great and there were 2 toilet blocks, they were clean and showers were hot. We were able to use the outdoor freezer to keep our freezer blocks in while staying there.
The village is quiet and while you stay at the campsite you are able to use the village social club. The locals are friendly and are full of useful information. We will be staying there again if we go back to the area. A quiet and beautiful site.

We stayed for a week during some excellent weather. The reception at site was very friendly and helpful and there were plenty pitches to choose from during our visit.
After our first night, however, we decided to move to a lovely level pitch closer to the stream after being 'bombed' by animals from the tree overhead (see earlier respondent, who obviously had same problem) but that's all part of the fun.
Toilets and showers were good. All in all, an excellent, well-maintained site in a lovely part of the country. Would definitely use again.

Really nice site. Very quiet. Situated in quiet village. All we want when camping is a quiet site with clean facilities. This site had exactly what we wanted. Showers were adequate,no queues but cubicles very small and very difficult getting dry and keeping clothes dry.
Freezer available to use for your own freezer blocks - no charge. Pub within a few mins of site entrance and also small shop which was closed on the days we were there, although it was before school holidays.
Very little traffic noise although we were disturbed one night by drunken kids wandering through the village being extremely vocal and quite intimidating following a boozy night watching football.
Very handy for travelling into Wells where there is a large Tesco, although it did take some finding. My only problem with our visit and this comment is only to make future visitors aware, don't camp under the large tree on the left side of the path - we had wonderful weather but were absolutely deluged with bird poo - from the tent,to the car, to clothes, hair. It really felt like the birds had it in for us. Apart from that - really enjoyable stay.

Nice and idyllic quiet place!
Very sheltered from all surroundings by tall trees, nice creek running along the tent-area.
Toilet and showers nice and clean.
Good water access (in addition to the creek).
Nice and helpful people.
Reception has a small selection of goods for sale.
Tent-area is quite separated from the stationeries, and very good, spacious, and flat.

This is a beautiful campsite set in the village of Wookey Hole nestling in the Mendips, it is also a rather unique site in being an adult only site exclusively for tents.
The site is immaculately looked after by the owners and is set in very tranquil surroundings, the river axe running alongside the camping paddock and at times the only noise you can hear. All the pitches are grass and when we visited they were immaculately turned out although a point to note is that there are no electric hooks up pitches on site.
The on site amenities consist of two toilet / shower blocks being very clean and functional, the showers on site are some of the best we have used being electric showers with adjustable heat and no timers.
The site is very quiet even when we visited at the Bank Holiday and has a strict no noise after 11pm policy. A very short distance from the site entrance there is the local shop selling most products you will need during your stay, which also has a lovely little cream tea shop behind serving cream teas / cooked breakfasts etc.
When staying at site you are able to obtain free temporary membership to the Wookey Hole Club opposite the local shop, the locals make you very welcome at the club and the prices are very good.
The site is ideally located for walking in the Mendips with easy access to the footpath network, historic city of Wells is a short drive away and also magical Glastonbury with all its intrigue is close by.
This is a little gem of a site and is well worth a visit, it’s also nice to see a site provide beautifully turned out grass pitches, when more and more sites are moving to predominately hard standing only, this site proves that grass can work.

Booked this site at very short notice and we are very glad they had a vacancy. A friendly welcome at a well managed site.
Two separate Toilet/Shower and Wash-up blocks on a small site so no waiting.
Soft, level ground with a brook babbling away to send you to sleep. Very peaceful with only the ducks, birds and squirrels for entertainment. Spotlessly clean toilets and free showers in a sheltered location made the weekend perfect.
Just a few yards from the entrance is the Wookey Hole club where you are made very welcome.
A few yards further is the excellent Wookey Hole Inn - good choice of beers to be enjoyed in the slightly eccentric garden and a local cider that needs to be treated with great respect - they also have a chef who deserves great respect.
After a tough cycle ride over the Mendips we treated ourselves to a meal on Saturday evening that was just superb.

I like this site, the site is surrounded by babbling brooks, next to zero road noise from the 1 lane, it does back onto the car park for Wookie hole but this is no problem as there is a high hedge and stream
Very friendly staff. Very well maintained and very handy for 'the hole'. All the usual services hot showers etc and clean - highly recommended - perhaps not the best for kids due to the streams.

From the moment you turn the corner into the driveway of this wonderful campsite, you just know that you've found the most perfect campsite ever - and realise just why the reviews are so good.
Situated in the Mendip Hills, 2 minutes walk from Wookey Hole in an area of outstanding beauty, Homestead Park is the perfect place to get away from it all.
Stuart the campsite owner and his mother-in-law are so welcoming - from the moment you arrive, to the moment you sadly have to leave. Other campsites could learn a thing or two from their hospitality.
The campsite itself is superbly looked after, with the best showers we have ever experienced at a campsite. They are kept spotlessly clean, as is the rest of the campsite - with lush green grass and a babbling brook which runs right the away around the park.
There is also an amazing local shop which sells everything you'll ever need, with the added bonus of having a picturesque cafe out back which sells scrumptious paninis and cream teas - a match made in heaven!
It's a place that dreams are made of in the best location for visiting nearby Cheddar, Wells, Yeovil and Frome, as well as North and South Devon.
All in all - 10 out of 10. And if we could give it 11 out of 10 we certainly would! Definitely worth a visit for your next holiday.

We stayed at Homestead Park for 7 nights. It is an adults only beautiful, quiet, tent only site. Note there is no EHU.
We received a warm welcome from the owners, were told where everything was and were advised to pitch our tent anywhere we wanted to. Although we stayed over the August bank holiday weekend the site was fairly quiet but there had been a number of cancellations due to the inclement weather.
There were 2 sets of toilet/shower blocks at either end of the site. Both sets were kept clean and tidy at all times and there was a constant supply of hot water (no matter what time of the day).
The only noise you get at the site is the sound of running water from the River Axe, owls at night and a vocal squirrel who liked to make his presence known!
The site is well placed to visit Wookey Hole (it is virtually next door to the site) Wells, Cheddar and Glastonbury.
There is a local pub and also a club which you are able to join as a temporary member if you show your receipt from the campsite. We didn't try either venue so are unable to comment.
There is a beautiful walk around Ebbor Gorge which is a 5 minute drive away.
I cannot recommend this site enough if you want to get away from it all.
