What an amazing time arrived as a group, was greeted by organised and friendly welcome on arrival.
Sadly the entertainment was cancelled but this was through no fault of the pub. This is a unique campsite with many benefits. Very relaxed and enjoyed the freedom to set up as we wished.
Enjoyed a walk along the canalside on the Saturday afternoon to the mill cafe and arts and crafts. All groups appeared to be enjoying themselves with couples, groups and families.
During Saturday late afternoon stopped off for swift beer in the beer garden very relaxed and chilled. Ate and drank in the pub in the evening and was waited on with great table service.
Thank you to all the team we will definitely be returning.

A lively and fun site adjacent to the pub by the side of the Kennet and Avon Canal.
Not a place if you want a quiet nights sleep though.
There is a marquee with bands playing at weekends and music goes on well into the night.
Best appreciated with a group to enjoy the party spirit.

Stopover at this site whilst walking in the area.
Never changes, it's still a marmite site, love it or hate it, and I love it. Hippy vibes, water gypsies, "alternative" lifestyles all welcome and very evident here.
Pub does good food and great beer. Lovely seating area alongside the canal.
Good walks along the canal path
Facilities are pretty basic, but functional.
Will return

I thought the campsite staff were relaxed, friendly and helpful and the facilities were really good such as the shower, toilets and a food hut.
It was a little noisy during the night but we were made aware that there were 2 groups of people having birthday celebrations so should have pitched in another area.
I thought it was really good value and a lovely spot in the country

This is one of our favourite campsites that we have been going to for over 15 years, though I know it's not for everyone.
We really love the laid back atmosphere and the mix of people that you get there.
We found that they had done a lot of work since our last visit in 2019 with better drainage in the first field which has much improved the stability of the ground.
The site was obviously observing Covid 19 rules and as it was early May the inside of the pub was closed but the outside bar was a great addition. The toilet facilities were well cleaned and segregated.
We had a couple of meals in the garden and the food was good, but as it was a weekend with good weather it was very busy so we would recommend booking if you want to eat.
The camping fields themselves were well organised and well spaced out. The rules re dogs being kept on a lead were being followed and there was little noise at night even though there were several big groups.
For those who dislike any noise this may not be for you but we find generally that the big second field is quieter than the first field with the big fire pit.

Site close to canal with good walks
The site has a lovely pub but of course we had to sit outside, the food was great and the landlord and staff were very helpful, friendly
Camping toilets need modernising but were clean and sanitary
All in all a very pleasant stay

I sent a booking enquiry and they were quick to respond and said they had space for me in my VW, with my dog and no electric and confirmed the price of £10 per night. I was concerned about the site being boggy and they told me they had been working on the road in, and all should be fine.
I arrived and was met by Skylar who told me what facilities were open, pub opening times and showed me where to pitch. I needn't have been worried about the grass, it was solid, dry and no chance of getting stuck.
I had a lovely pitch along the perimeter fence backed on to the canal. There were toilets open, and they were currently in the process of refurbishing the showers. Recycling, fresh water and chemical disposal were also available. There is a really good play area for the young ones and I also spotted a rope swing hanging off a tree
I ventured to the pub which was offering a selection of drinks and a good menu. Garden service only, but this did not stop lots turning up for a chilled drink.
This is a very relaxed site, however rules of no noise after 11pm were adhered to and everyone was respectful of others. You can have fires, they love group campaign and overall a great laid back atmosphere. They do like to hem the units in on busy nights, but all within a safe distance.
The location is great for visiting all that Wiltshire has to offer including Stone Henge, Avebury, Silbury Hill, East Kennet and so much more. Walking is great from the site too with a few routes easily accessible, especially up and down the canal paths and circular walks too.
I liked this site, I liked the location, I liked the welcome, I liked the pub and I liked the price. I will be back for sure but next time with friends, rather than a solo camper.

Friendly and relaxed site. Rustic facilities in a beautiful location.
Bit of an issue with getting food in pub due to a large party of 17 and 30 covers being done and new chef. Suggest calling and booking meal ahead if you are not taking food with you for night. Cafe close by though but closes at 5pm. If all else fails you can order a meal delivery from the Raj at Marlborough. We however managed to get squeezed in last minute so all good.
