This site is basically shaped like a capital L we were on the long side of the L. The pitches are all grass and basically flat, caravans need have no worries, we found a fully level pitch for our camper. Found is operative word as the owners allowed us to find our own pitch, reception being normally manned only two hours a day.
There are great views to south and east as the site is basically on a low hill.
The toilets and showers are excellent. No timed lights or timed showers. Set your own temperature on the shower. When site is fully booked the two basins and two showers in male facilities might struggle?
The 'sport' field is large and 50% is kept mown, it had 5 a side type goals set up. Dogs can be walked around the perimeter which is kept cut.
There is also another field which is left more to nature which can also be walked. We spotted at least one foot path.
The small road through Bircher is surprisingly busy in the mornings and the long side of the L has the noisiest pitches. Didn't bother us but I know some would be unhappy.
Towards the top end of the L, where we were, the Wi-Fi will not work a big problem for some although 3G seemed good.
Excellent base for touring round, black and white village tour, Croft Castle, Weir Gardens etc.

Beautiful site set in stunning countryside. Very flat. Electric hook up and water between most pitches, so not far to drag water etc. Playing field with goal posts, lovely for kids to play. Very modern and warm shower/toilet block with added special touches. Utilities room with washing facilities and a book swap area. A lot of thought has gone into the running of this site to ensure a warm welcome.

First class campsite!
The site is impeccable and has wonderful views towards what I think were the Brecon Beacons in the far distance. We stayed in the small tent enclosure - 6 pitches right at the edge of site next to the playing/football field. We managed a night away from the kids but I think ours would have enjoyed the open space, certainly for a couple of nights. There is no playground but that is probably no bad thing.
Showers and toilets to a high standard and very clean with hot water.
Lovely walk through the fields to the pub in Yarpole. We didn't eat, but there was a decent selection of Ales.
All in all 10 out of 10.

Visited home farm weekend of 18th July 2015
Straightforward friendly booking procedure, a very relaxed 'pitch anywhere between 1-36' advice was given, on arrival did just that.
The site is absolutely immaculate we have been happy campers for years & don't mind simple basic facilities however, following our stay at Home Farm we don't want to go anywhere else! The grounds are beautifully maintained in an indiscreet manner, having bins & water points at a central point as opposed to being dotted around makes a huge difference to the general aesthetic of the site. The facilities on offer go over & above ones usual camping expectations. Freshly cut sweet peas in the ladies shower / toilet block? toiletry & sanitary products freely available for the likes of me who always forget something! Free tea & coffee in the utility room which provides spotless fridge freezer microwave cleaning products & utensils. Really everything is catered for, And joyously without the endless signs of 'do's & don'ts' which proliferate other UK sites. This really is a site which sets the bar for wonderful English camping at its very best. Well done & thank you to Dawn & her team. We hope to return very soon.

Beautiful site. Fantastic views for nearly 360°. Grass better than many lawns and toilet and shower block just magnificent.
A site to dream for and our dreams were answered at Home Farm.
Certainty sets an aspirational standard.
Could only be improved by motorhome waste disposal facilities but that was not vital for us for one night.
We hope to sample the menu at the local inn another time when the weather is more conducive to the walk.

(Couple - late 40's/early 50's - look for peace, quiet and tranquillity, but with a few mod cons).
Stayed 2 nights - Fri 30/01 to Sun 01/02
Little to add, suffice to say, the whole site, and the whole experience, remains top notch.
Despite my previous review (from c. 14 months ago) suggesting we should return in the summer, to date, we haven't managed it, but we saw no reason not to return 'out of season' again, which will have to suffice for now.
From what I can see, upon our return, there is little to no change, in those intervening 14 months. But I'd hasten to add that's a good thing!
The ground itself was a little wetter, but we've had a full two months of winter more than when we visited last time, ergo, the law of averages suggest we've had considerably more wet weather prior to our visit.
There was still, though, little in the way of churned grass, (Apart from my own tyre tracks, Sorry!) or even small puddles. I doubt this place ever gets waterlogged!
We again had the site to ourselves for the first night, with one couple turning up to their pre-pitched caravan on day two.
Still as peaceful, and still with the same stunning views, (Snow on the distant hill tops this time, but alas, none on site, and none on my tent! Still, you can't have it all!)
Still with the heating on in the loo's, still with excellent, fully adjustable showers, in spacious cubicles, and oodles of hot water, and still with the same informal, yet courteous, welcome.
Whilst we still want to return in the summer months, should we get the opportunity, I can definitely see us using this site at least once every winter, for years to come.
Keep up the good work. And thanks for having us.

Our first two visits with our recently acquired tourer were to this site. It was close to home for our first venture and we were not disappointed. Fairly level grass pitches on the main field with wonderful views out towards Wales. Great walking area for our two dogs. You can walk over the fields to the village of Yarpole where there is a very good pub. Excellent heated shower and toilet block on site. Dawn, the owner, was very helpful when we explained we were very new to this game. We will be back in 2015

This is a really well kept site. The shower/wc block is spotless with large, well laid-out shower cubicles, the grass is beautiful - mown like an Oxford college lawn! - and the pitches are large. It is also in a lovely location, with wonderful views and just a short distance from 2 National Trust properties, a great farm shop and Leominster itself.
The owners are also very helpful, especially in that there is no early throwing out time. So long as you are off the site by the time the barrier comes down in the evening, they are happy for you to leave at any time, which means you can really make the most of your last day.
The only downside is that because it is on the top of a hill, it is quite windy, so the evenings were rather cold.

I never usually write reviews but I feel I must on this occasion. This was one of the BEST sites I have ever stayed on, it was clean, tidy, quiet, beautiful views and a fab pub (quick walk across the fields) Will definitely go back. We even witnessed the best thunder and lightening ever. Oh and rain.

For our first camping trip (my wife's first ever), with a brand new tent, we chose Home Farm as it is a small site and not too far from our home in Colwyn Bay.
We booked for 3 nights during the Easter holiday and loved absolutely everything about our stay! Upon arrival our name and pitch number were displayed on the notice board located just inside the entrance to Home Farm. Our pitch was large with amazing, uninterupted views across fields and rolling hills. The shower and utilities block was less than 5 minutes walk away with 3 toilets, 2 sinks and 3 shower cubicles in the ladies, 2 sinks, 2 toilets and 2 shower cubicles in the gents, all were kept spotlessly clean.
The site was lovely and peaceful with marvellous views, well laid out pitches and neatly cut grass, The village of Yarpole 15 minutes walk away using the short-cut across the fields from the farm. The Bakers Arms and Boot Inn in Orleton both do excellent food.
My most sincere thanks to Home Farm - my wife who was sceptical about camping is now a convert!
