We'd been to two other Welsh sites this week which were awful for different reasons - so it was with relief we arrived at Hafod Farm!
Clean, simple, pretty and unspoiled, gorgeous view, friendly and professional owner, Pete, was pleasant and helpful, really nice facilities, clean warm shower, well kept site in general,
Yes, we'll be back, and with friends for a longer say next time.
A gorgeous site, and good public transport links to all Snowdonia's attractions, bus stop right outside.

Well located campsite half way between Betws y Coed and Llanrwst on the A470, sharp turn into the site from a busy road. Situated in a valley the views were beautiful.
The site has 2 reasonable size fields(states on website that there is one for the children) but there is not! a bit overcrowded so not much room for the kids to play.
Facilities:
Showers you have to pay for, toilets only 2 for the ladies but they were clean apart from the pools of water on the floor, and there was hot water, they had a hairdryer which was free, and this was needed as the weather was very wet indeed. There was a room with fridges and a freezer and a sink to wash dishes also a clothes dryer which did not work! the plug had been cut off.
The website states a cafe on site, one of the reasons we picked this site, however it has been closed 2 years( website needs updating) so no food unless you cook it yourself or go to the nearest town where there are lots of reasonable priced cafe's.
Personally we would not return

Have just returned from an eight night stay at Hafod Farm campsite. We had a pretty good week weather wise, a bit more sun would have been nice but hardly any rain except a few drizzly misty mornings, which is expected when you are up in the mountains!
A good location for Snowdon and the surrounding towns and villages - very near Betsw-y-Coed, lovely town but very busy and touristy, nearest large supermarket was the Co-op at Llanwrst.
The campsite is just off the main road and the traffic was quite busy at times, but didn't bother us at night.
The camping fields are very spacious - very pretty on entry with the farm house, and cottages, flowers blooming and hens and chickens running around!
The owners had already greeted my husband (as we travelled in two cars) and had shown him all the facilities - which were excellent, and true to the other reviews, kept very clean - not sure what they would have been like in bad weather though!
The washing up room was good - plenty of space in the fridges and freezer, makes a change from other sites when people take advantage and put too much stuff in them! The water for washing up was a little temperamental - if a few people had been using it in succession, then it took a little while to reheat.
One little niggle - although the showers were great, and none of us had to wait to use them which was good - felt that the charge was a little steep, £1 for 10 mins which was much longer than you needed, but 20p for 2 mins wasn't long enough!
Also the hot water in the ladies was only luke warm, ok for washing your hands but not hot enough for a wash. On a good note - a hairdryer was provided in the ladies block, and also two sockets for your own hairdryer/straighteners - a bonus!
On a final note, please be wary when arriving at the site - the turn off from the main road is quite sharp, and be careful if turning out onto traffic especially if towing!

Just returned from a three night stay at Hafod Farm, we found it to be a great site with spotlessly clean, basic facilities and the owners were very friendly & helpful throughout.
The showers, loos & washing up facilities were first class and we were impressed at the fridges and freezers available for campers to use.
Both our children of two and a half and five years thoroughly enjoyed our short break and didn't want to come home, despite the very wet weather! We would thoroughly recommend this site for a 'get away from it all, chilled out camping holiday in beautiful surroundings!'
We will return.

We have just returned from a week's stay at Hafod; not the first time we've stayed there, nor the last. The two fields (one with and one without electric hookups) were both nice and level. The owners were friendly and helpful and the site was kept very clean and tidy. Very rarely the hot water supply seemed a bit low but, considering the number of people on site and the demand for hot water, that was hardly surprising.
Although there is no food shop on site (there is a cafe and you can purchase (when the hens are being cooperative) freshly laid eggs), the site is situated roughly half way between two towns - Betws y Coed and Llanwrst. Llanwrst is a regular shopping town, whilst Betws has a couple of supermarkets but also contains more gift shops and suppliers of hiking, cycling, etc. , equipment and clothing. Both towns also have pubs, restaurants, cafes and teashops and are only a couple of miles from the site.
This is an ideal location for anyone who enjoys walking or cycling, and is an ideal base for getting to Mount Snowdon, Llandudno and many other places of interest.
It's a very reasonably priced site and they cater for everyone from 0 to 99. All in all a very good site that I would have no problem recommending to anyone and I look forward to returning to again soon.

We have just come back from a 5 night stay at this campsite. It is set in beautiful surroundings though most campsites in Wales are.
It has 2 fields, the first being mainly flat. The second field is on a slope. If you do stay here try and be in the first field as this is the best of the 2.
Facilities - This is where it sadly lacks. I have young children and was fully prepared for the shortage of toilets though I wasn't prepared for the standard of the showers. The showers were either scalding hot or freezing cold and that changed constantly whilst you were stood in them. A child could quite easily be burnt. Not ideal for young children and surely must come under health and safety standards?
This issue was raised with a male on the campsite who did most of the maintenance but he didn't really seem bothered. We asked for signs to be put up just to warn other families with children but his response was 'No-one wants to see warning notices everywhere'.
The hot water for washing your pots in the utility room, where was it? Again no hot water. If your going to advertise facilities at least make sure they work. Again this issue was raised but nothing happened.
You are allowed to play ball games etc on site which was a huge bonus for the children.
This could be a fantastic campsite but unfortunately its not. Yes its cheap but the facilities are lacking and nothing really works and nobody seems bothered.
I have tried to be as balanced as possible with my review. It's a field with great views, good communication links with facilities that are far from satisfactory.
I personally would not return.

This was our first time in a caravan and so we had just a short break at this site and I would agree with most comments about it being spotlessly clean, reasonably priced and it being in a beautiful location.
We also had a problem with the showers but raised the issue and were refunded.
The pot wash area does not have a waste bin ( never seen that before in 10 yrs of camping) and the water is scalding and needs sorting. I found the staff approachable and helpful.
For me its a good 7 out of ten and would definitely recommend and return.

We stayed on this site for three nights to explore the local area. Fabulous setting if you enjoy 'field' camping. No hard standings but we had no problem in or out with our motorhome. There is road noise but not offensive, plenty of hook ups and water points around the field, chemical diposal and waste area. Chickens running around wild by the cottage as you enter which is nice ! Eggs for sale in the morning if you are up early.
This is a great base for exploring the local area. The down side is are the facilities. While they are extremley clean there are two showers and toilets for females and only one toilet and one shower (that was was broken and only on cold water) for the males. This was not a problem for us with our 'in house' facililties in our M. H. But the site did get fairly busy while we were here and we did feel a little sorry for the tent people.
However, £15 per night inclusive of hook up for the setting and general site is great value as for as we are concerned. Would stay here again and recommend the site bearing in mind the above points.

We have just returned from a short stay at this wonderful little camp site, the toilets and shower facilities were spotless in fact the cleanest we have come across 'ever'.
The washing up room with free hot water was something we were not used to. Plenty of room in fridges and freezers, maybe we are just used to going to average sites. This site is well above average, great views friendly owners and well spaced out pitches.
We will be going again with our elderly parents who can stay in the barn conversations.
There is plenty to do for everyone with it being situated a short drive from the coast and snowdon.
Also a great curry house about 2 miles away.

This site was a pleasant surprise, its only small with two fields but its fantastic the toilets were most of the time spotless except for the one occasion in the morning. I loved the pigs and the chickens that ran about you could even buy fresh chicken and duck eggs in the morning (kept by the water tap by the loo's) but get up early for them because I kept missing out.
The noise from the road isn't bad and the site is well kept. My only criticism was I felt the pitches were quite close to other peoples tents and packed in but we learnt that this was due to part of the field being flooded.
There's plenty of room for kids to run about but our tent was in the direct path of their favourite playing spot in the woods and had kids running through our tables and chairs not that I'm a nark but I was scared they would trip on the guy ropes.
The site also has a room with a fridge and freezer which was really handy and I think it had a washing machine and an ironing board. Overall this is a great little site and perfect for exploring the near by areas,
I will come here again but ask for maybe a quieter speck.
